Posted: 02 Apr 2019 02:53 PM PDT So long story short, I made someone in a game mad by being better at the game than them. They sent me a message saying have fun offline then ddosed me. It's been over 3 hours now and I'm still having issues. I reset my router countless times (it's dynamic) and everything will be fine for about 5min. Everything will connect fine and stuff. After about 5min it'll go down again and say, "internet may not be available." Do you have any idea what is going on or how to fix it? I'm not joining back in a game with the person, I don't have enough time online to even connect back to a game before it's off again. I tried calling my isp but they are clueless what ddosing even is. Thanks so much! Edit: Problem was solved. Thanks so much for all the info and input. You guys are awesome! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:54 AM PDT I got an email saying that my email account and webcam was hacked. I usually ignore these emails because I know most of them are fake. But the strange thing about this one was that it says it was sent by me. Like its not saying 'my name' but "me" and it also had my email address in the "from" section which makes me think this might be real. (Also it says 'message was not encrypted') I also Couldn't find the email in the 'sent' tab. I used a Bitcoin block explorer and used the wallet code he provided and it says there are no funds and number of transactions are 0. This makes me think that he was only able to hack my email account. I changed the password and added 2-factor but he mentioned in the mail that it wouldn't matter as he would still be able to hack it using some tool. I also used the google's privacy check tool but couldn't find anything suspecious. He ordered me to pay him $600 in 3 days or he will lock my account and my pc and would publish my "search history" and webcam recordings to the web and send it to my relatives. (1 day has passed as of now.) I still think this is fake but would like your help. Sorry if this it the wrong subreddit for this problem and also if my english was a little off. [link] [comments] |
How to boost volume in one ear bud but not the other one? Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:14 AM PDT My left ear bud is quieter than the right ear bud. I have a s8+ could there be an app for this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 01:17 AM PDT Odd situation here. About a week ago my PC wouldn't turn on at all, press the power button and nothing happened. Unplugged cd room and everything was perfect until today when it did the same thing. I've tested the PSU and it works, unplugged all sata power and data cables, run it without the GPU, replaced cmos battery. Nothing works. Anyone got any ideas as to what's wrong? [link] [comments] |
PCI Device after new graphics card install Posted: 02 Apr 2019 06:33 AM PDT I've been doing tech support on my PC for a seperate issue I'll post at the bottom and while doing so I noticed in device manage there is a PCI Device not installed properly, I recently upgraded my GFX card to a 1660, but as far as I can tell it works fine. I've been gaming etc on the PC for several days with no issue. So it's not that I don't think and it also shows up in device manager itself just fine. Anyone know what is the issue? The other issue I've been having is that recently there has been popping in my headset for any audio that plays (no popping when no audio and 0 popping when playing the sound through the monitor) I thought it was just a defective headset but it happens with earbudds I plug in too. Sometimes it will go away after a reboot and stays away for that day but will come back the next time. [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to reinstall Windows (iso) through and Android? Posted: 03 Apr 2019 03:45 AM PDT Hi, Today I got the dreaded SrtTrail.txt Error upon starting my Dell Latitude E5570. Nothing works. Cannot restore, cannot do a fresh reinstall, no command prompt work (sfc, chkdsk, regback, everything). I only have one PC at home. But I'm currentmy downloading an Win 10 ISO file. I read somewhere that it may be possible to mount it through an Android or do I have to borrow my mates computer? Right now it rebooted and said "no boot device found"... Probably hardware issues then.. Shitty pc though, so it's not as if all hell broke loose. [link] [comments] |
Have an unusual problem on steam Posted: 03 Apr 2019 03:32 AM PDT Every time I remove a game from my list of installed games steam then asks me to update the remaining ones. This happens every time I rearrange my installed games or even add new ones. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Apr 2019 03:28 AM PDT So I gradually update my PC from time to time to keep up with increasing hardware requirements for gaming. So far it has worked really well and the oldest part in my current PC is the Power Supply. It's a Chieftec (full) modular 750W (Europe). Right now sitting in my rig is a Asus PRIME Z370-P with an i7-8700k and a Asus Geforce GTX 970. I'm currently looking into changing out my GTX 970 for a RTX 2060 and I'm wondering if my power supply can still handle it. I'm a bit worried because I recently dug out the box in my storehouse and it says "Dual Core Support" and "SLI Ready", so it's a bit more dated than I initially thought. The model number is CFT-750-14CS. Looking forward to anyone that can help me! [link] [comments] |
Chrome download bar white text on white background Posted: 03 Apr 2019 03:11 AM PDT Google chrome Version 73.0.3683.86 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10 1809. Using dark theme in windows 10 and Just Black theme by Google. Didn't used to have the problem, most likely caused by recent update of some kind. https://i.imgur.com/eSWPfmd.jpg You can see the problem in this image. [link] [comments] |

PC plugged into router, but no internet? Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:47 AM PDT Sorry for the poor wording. My PC is connected to my router through an ethernet cable, but I don't have internet access. I've tried using different ports and restarting, but to no avail. Earlier I fixed my PC from a startup problem, does that have anything to do with it? Many thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:43 AM PDT When I first made my computer my friend who was going to school for computers helped me and ended up putting the graphics card in the second pci (x8) slot. I tried moving the gpu while the computer was off to the x16 slot and the computer started up but I didnt get a picture. I have a gtx 970 connected via display port. If any info is needed I will try to respond asap. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:34 AM PDT Hi all I just got a new laptop, Dell Insprion 17, and my internet speed on WiFi is pretty slow, speedtest.net is showing it as being 4Mbps, and when i check on other devices (my phone, roommate's laptop) its showing that those devices are getting around 35Mbps. Is there anything I can do to speed up my new computer? [link] [comments] |
Logitech Z213 loose connection with subwoofer Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:32 AM PDT I bought a Logitech Z213 speaker system and unfortunately the connection seems to have shat out on me. The jack that connects the speakers to the subwoofer has a lot of extra room, for lack of a better word. If I plug in the speakers, I can wiggle the plug around substantially. Is there a way to fix this at home? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:30 AM PDT I've had Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 for more than a year now and a while back I noticed my poor GPS quality, but didn't think of it much. However, now I really need a decent GPS for work. I've tested my GPS signal in a few apps and on average the accuracy is +-30 meters. This was one of my best results. I have tried changing the settings, cold start, factory reset and none of them seemed to have worked. I was also wondering if this could be a hardware problem. My front camera is shifted in a way that photos taken with it are chopped of. In addition, the top part of my phone is squishy and cracky, while bottom part is rock solid. Could antenna be damaged? If this isn't fixable, would buying an external GPS receiver help or should I just change my phone? Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:16 AM PDT As I currently am writing this in bed on my phone I can't provide specific details until the morning. Sorry in advance. So I just started to have this issue with my ASUS monitor. I run it through HDMI straight to my laptop (has an external gtx 1070 if that helps) through the HDMI port. I usually scale my resolution in windows from 2160 (4k) to 1600 or 1400 and that allows me to enable 60hz on my monitor due to the limits of HDMI. Well I reset my laptop the other day and tried plugging my monitor back in and doing my usual resolution change and hz change and for some reason when I changed the refresh rate from 23hz to 60hz my monitor automatically changed my resolution to 640 by 480. I can only run that resolution and 60hz or 4K and 30hz. I'm at a loss until I'm able to buy a mini display port to display port dongle and get rid of HDMI all together. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated (: [link] [comments] |
various issues after upgrading ram Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:12 AM PDT I upgraded from old Kingston desktop 2x8gb 1333 ddr3 ram sticks to HyperX 2x8gb 1866 ddr3 ram sticks today. All seemed fine and dandy, opening up chrome and using it/watching videos okay. Start playing games, specifically Apex and it starts crashing with no error at random points midgame. Thought it was just Apex but i go into a Dota game and it crashes after loading in. Give my computer a restart and straight after the "closing applications" phase, it gives me the w10 bluescreen sadface. What do? [link] [comments] |
Headset Mic too sensitive on PS4, but not PC. Help? Posted: 03 Apr 2019 02:09 AM PDT My razer kraken headset is way too sensitive on my PS4, like it picks up trigger and buttons presses, analog movement, stuff like that. But when I plug it into my PC, it's not sensitive at all. Why is it like this on the ps4? can I change it? (Microphone Volume is NOT sensitivity.. please stop suggesting it) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 01:58 AM PDT I have an Asus ROG strix SCAR GL503VS and today after a graphics drivers update I shut it down to restart it and it won't turn back on. There was never any physical damage and the laptop is only a year old. Any solutions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 01:48 AM PDT Observed behavior When the PC goes to sleep, the lights in the case turn off and the fans turn off, and the monitor shuts off. When I attempt to wake the PC up, the power light on the mobo goes solid as normal (and the CPU fan and fans in case turn on), but the display does not show anything because there is no signal being received by the monitor. As well as the keyboard not lighting up. I believe that the system is actually 'awake', but since there is no display output, I cannot really tell and I cannot make any forward progress. Instead, I have to hard shut down the system by holding the power button. My pc runs fine normally. I checked in system settings to make sure my the keyboard can wake the system up as well. Any help would be much appreciated! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Apr 2019 01:45 AM PDT I recently upgraded my RAM from 16gb of 2400mhz to 32gb of 3000mhz. Ever since then I have not been able to boot into windows unless I boot into safe mode by holding the power button down. Once I boot into windows, my overclock on my CPU is there and all 32gb of my RAM is running at rated speeds that I manually placed them at. I don't use XMP because in my opinion is utter trash. I haven't done any real troubleshooting because I've been busy. Only things I've done are reseating RAM and clearing CMOS But as soon as I have time my ideas conclude: Swapping back my old RAM to see if the problem persists. Putting the new RAM kit to default speeds. Reseating my CPU (because when I was pressing the reset button on my Mobo is brought up the post code that says no CPU detected) Trying to just run XMP because I haven't actually used it in a long time and maybe it's better. My parts list include: i7 7700k/1080ti 850w PSU (just incase maybe you think I don't have a good enough PSU old RAM 16gb kit of GeiL EVO POTENZA rated @ 2400mhznew RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 4x8GB kit rated @ 3000mhz ANY ideas are more than welcome. Also if you think that booting in safe mode is acceptable I would be open to hearing that opinion, I don't care too much about just leaving my PC in sleep mode forever. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I just reset to see if it would POST and it did. Then I shut down and turn it back on and it POST's normally and boots right into windows. I have done nothing other than make this post. Any ideas? lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2019 01:44 AM PDT I have about 319 GB of free, completely unused space on my E: drive. Is there a method to easily move it to Disk C: without risking data loss? I've seen a guide saying it's safe to do it by right-clicking This PC>Computer management>Disk management and picking 'delete volume' by rick-clicking on the E: partition, until it displays as unallocated space and merges automatically into C: Disk. EDIT: Solved, thanks! [link] [comments] |
