| Accidentally loaded g935a combination file onto a g935p and now Im stuck Posted: 12 Apr 2019 06:39 PM PDT I reverted a g935p to stock 6.0.1 and I flashed a combination file with Odin but after hunting far and wide for the correct combination file I seem to have accidentally used one for the g935a instead (stupid, I know). the factory binary loads up fine and functions properly, but the model is shown as the g935a and I cannot for the life of me get any stock firmware to flash now. I'm also getting a strange message on the boot screen, will add photo in comments. Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated! | Posted: 12 Apr 2019 07:12 PM PDT So I got a Samsung galaxy s7, and I left it at my mothers home when I had to take care of my grandmother. 3 months later, I seem to have forgotten the pattern I used and am locked out of the phone. I've tried a few different solutions to my problem and I can't seem to find a method to unlock the phone without losing all my data. Additionally I don't have TWRP installed and the usb debug mode is not enabled, I also believe airplane mode is on. My phone however is not carrier locked, if that makes any difference. Is there a way to bypass the pattern instead with finger print scan? I've tried: - Remotely unlocking the phone via wifi and "findmymobile.samsung.com" for whatever reasons my phone isn't connecting to wifi and I can't get it to unlock. Is there a way to enable wifi when its locked? - Using "Aroma File manager", unfortunately I get an error message "signature verification failed" from my understanding I can disable this via "TWRP". However because my phone is locked I can't install it. Is there away to remove signature verification another way? What option do I have left? Thank you for all your help . [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 12 Apr 2019 07:08 PM PDT When I format a 256 GB SD card for Internal Storage it lists the card as having 261 GB of storage used up by the System with a total storage size of 512 GB for the card. When I use it for portable storage it comes up as the proper 256 GB for the total size of the card. I have tested it with a 32GB SD card and that one functions properly on my phone, listing 32GB of total space and only a couple KB used up when formatted for Internal Storage. The 256GB one is a Samsung Evo while the 32GB one is a Sandisk Ultra, I'm using them on a Razer Phone 2. [link] [comments]  | ||

I got a problem with my motorola M29D6 / Moto E4 Dual Sim; I rooted it a year ago to make use of a linux emulator that i wanted to run. forgot about the rooting and downloaded and installed the update that came out today. It downloaded it, rebooted it and now it's stuck in a reboot loop, only the boot screen appears for the 5 seconds, and the "state orange" notification. i tried to get it into recovery, from there i think i know what to do, but i can't: i press volume down and power when it's off, release power and keep volume down pressed, but it does not come into recovery. anyone an idea how to recover it? | Posted: 12 Apr 2019 07:39 AM PDT Hello all and thank you for reading my post. I'm hoping someone out there can help me to get a Nexus 10 working again. I've tried following some online guides but not luck as of yet. Here is the situation: a friend of mine gave me his old Nexus 10 tablet which he no longer uses and I want to bring back to life. He tried unlocking the tablet years ago and doesn't specifically remember what he did but it no longer loads into any android operating system and seems to be stuck loading into recovery mode. The current state: -When booting the tablet you see the Google logo and beneath it an unlocked lock. Nothing else happens. -When holding own the the power/volume buttons it does go to a menu with options to Start/Power Off/Restart Bootloader/Recovery. The recovery button does lead to recovery -When going to Recovery, it says ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.6 -when going to Install Zip From SDCard > Choose Zip, there are no zips to be found in the root. However when I go to 0/ > Download I do find some zip files that my friend must have downloadeded. These are "CWM SuperSu-v0.99.zip" and "SR5-SuperSu 0v2.820SR5.zip" -None of the above zips install/load/do anything. I've tried wiping cache/dalvik cache as per online guides but that also does nothing -Factory reset does not work Question: Is this device gone forever? | Can someone help me identify the source of this adware? Posted: 12 Apr 2019 02:59 PM PDT Here is the screenshot: http://imgur.com/QJRI7j8 It seems to happen completely at random, usually when I first unlock, open an app, or navigating the web. This ad that never changes and I've tried everything to find the source. It's also elusive, clicking any buttons results in the app shutting down what it's attached to. It seems to overtake the app I have in the front, it did here to the Reddit app once too. If I click home or the switcher, it just closes itself. I am a FAST texter and have NOT been a fan of the swipe method for Android, so I press type. However, when I do this, the keyboard NEVER appropriately auto-corrects for me. For me, easily repairable being able to replace the usb port, screen, and batteries without soldering. Xiaomi seems to have several phones that fit the bill, but they can't get US bands. Posted: 12 Apr 2019 10:06 AM PDT After the last update i noticed something strange that i can't seem to find any other occurrences of online. i have a D&D group on my s7's default messages app that i can no longer send messages to from the group chat screen. the "Enter Message" box i grayed out with the add image button. when the quick response window pops up i can hit reply and send text normally, but i can never be the first one to send a message because of it. | Note 8 - Youtube constantly stuttering/lagging Posted: 12 Apr 2019 02:56 AM PDT I've never owned a phone that lags when I watch youtube and its pretty frustrating. This happens on wi-fi and mobile data, the only thing I could think of to do is go into app settings and clear data but that didn't fix the issue. This happens pretty much every other day, and the issue doesn't go away until I reset my phone, closing and reopening youtube doesn't fix the issue. This is annoying because I listen to a lot of podcasts when I drive and once it starts lagging I don't want to try to fix it while I'm driving or pull over, so for the whole ride I don't get to listen to it. I currently have Pie installed and its still happening, it also happened when I had Oreo. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Receiving the same Google Now notifications multiple times throughout the day Posted: 12 Apr 2019 06:18 AM PDT I like getting the notifications for news stories that might interest me from Google Now (at least I think it's Google Now, correct me if I'm wrong). However, most of the time when I get one of these notifications and then dismiss it, I will get the exact same notification again several hours later. From what I can tell this doesn't happen every time, but when it does happen, it happens at least three times throughout the day. I've tried force stopping and clearing the cache, but it keeps happening. I'm using an LG v20 on Android 8. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Help with my Huawei damage and warranty Posted: 12 Apr 2019 02:01 PM PDT Cross-post from r/Huawei, hope this is the right subreddit aswell for this kind of a question, if it's not i apologise. So i've had my Huawei Honor 9 for a little over a year now, great phone, i'd say it's a solid phone, but i'd be partly lying. I've had an issue with it, the front screen and back cover started glueing off, wasn't sure why at first, then i saw the phone was slightly bent, which is probably the cause of the front and back coming off. In any case, i wasn't sure how that could have happened, had it in a protective case almost since i got it (first month i didn't have a case) and i had a protective glass on the screen. I'm not perfect, i had my phone fall a few times, but it was always on its back and the cover protected it, nothing serious in general happened to the phone tho, so it baffled me why it got bent. Googled around a bit and saw i'm not alone, saw quite a few posts here and there talking about their phone bending and the front and back coming off, different models, but all of them Huawei. Thought it was something that can happen, cut costs in some areas make the phones cheaper for buying. No problem i'll just go to my Huawei service center (Slovenia) and i'll get it sorted out. ...Yeap, not sorted out, they claim it's a ''mechanical fault'' (literal translation, hope it's right) and it's not covered under warranty. I asked them how, i had it in my cover and it was in my front pocket when i had it on me. They said it could have been because it was in my pocket, that it can happen...i tell them i've had Samsung and LG phones, the Note 1 for example, big phone, just about fit in my pocket, had it for 3 years, no bending whatsoever. They said the repair cost would be 172€, they'd be replacing basically everything except the main board. So yeah, overall trying to scam me over, nothing new. I came here for help because contacting Huawei support forwards me to our Slovenian support, which is pretty much useless. Is ther anything i can do? I doubt this ''just'' happens because it was in my pocket, i'd expect this from some knock-off 50€ phone, but not from a company as big as Huawei. | Posted: 12 Apr 2019 10:14 AM PDT If I read an email in Outlook on my computer, I want the notification to go away on my phone. I have ONLY been able to get this to work in the Gmail app for my work Exchange account. Others I have tried that do NOT work:
I want to keep my work email out of the Gmail app, but if I can't find one that works, maybe I'll switch all my Gmail emails to one of the above ones and just use Exchange in Gmail. Yuck though [link] [comments]  |
