| Stuck in the "automatic repair" loop and can't reset Posted: 14 Feb 2019 02:46 AM PST Hi, I'm on windows 10 and I'm stuck in the automatic repair loop. I want to do a reset (from the troubleshoot section) but it stops at a point and says that there was a problem during reset, and no changes were made. I have a bootable usb but I can't install windows 10, it keeps me redirecting to automatic repair page, even if I change the boot priority order on BIOS. What can I do? And you buy a second hard drive, install and put Windows 10 on it. And you decide you want to use your old "computer" one day. But I know for goddamn fucking sure that theres a fucking plug back there. Originally I had Vga to vga and it crashed Then I got Vga to hdmi and it crashed Then I got Hdmi to hdmi and it crashed. I can hear everything thats happening on my computer like videos/porn but my screen is black and my pc whirrs like crazy as soon as the screen goes dark. My PC is: 8th Generation Intel Core Processor. | RX 480 throttling, can't find out why. Posted: 14 Feb 2019 03:20 AM PST I have searched everywhere for a solution, here's what happens to my MSI RX 480 card: When I run Overwatch, for example, my FPS spikes/stutters rapidly and rhythmically. This is because, when looking at GPU-Z, my core clock is throttled back from 1200 MHz, (or where it's supposed to run stably, in other words), sometimes down to 600 MHz while gaming, and back up. Up and down. My GPU temps have never exceeded 65C, and it somewhat seems like the card is being thermal throttled at 60C, although I don't really think that's the problem. I have ruled out several things: Drivers reinstalled a dozen times, the problem has consisted throughout 1.9.2, and on the previous 1.8 versons before the new update AMD just had. Not sure about anything before that, but I have yet to solve the problem with any software, not just drivers. The card doesn't require more power, in Radeon Wattman I'll increase the power limit, which actually increases FPS slightly but also allows this issue to hit more extremes. My Windows 10 powers settings are set to high performance. I also just installed a new PSU, working like a charm. The only thing I haven't tried is a full Windows re-installation, which I don't exactly want to do. I'm pretty sure I had this ever since I reinstalled Windows for my new hardware recently, anyway. My previous build never had a problem. It's 4 AM and I don't know what else I might have missed, but I've been up all night trying to fix this, will answer your replies later tomorrow/today. I have tried power cycling it, checking for updates for the system itself (I am unable to update/delete and reinstall the widget due to how their system works). I have also tried a factory reset. | Coil whine through headphones.. why is this happening? Can it be fixed? Posted: 14 Feb 2019 04:12 AM PST I've had 2 asus gm501s now, the first one had a loud clinking/rattling sound coming from the upper right side of the laptop anytime the hard drive was in use. Well, this one does it too and I decided I'd live with it. Then I got a weird high squealing, whining sound through my headphones. Lasted for a few seconds and was gone, I thought it was weird but thought nothing of it. Then audio just stopped working on my computer. Eventually the audio decided to come back, but this time there was a high pitched squealing/whining noise. When I pause audio it continues for maybe 10-20 seconds or so, then there's a little click/pause noise and it's gone. I just got received it yesterday. What might be causing this? Things I tried: mic setting is disabled (I don't have a mic though), restarted computer several times, unplugged power supply, unplugged usb connection. None of this made a difference. Since I usually stream with Geforce Experience it has always been ok, but when I exit the game Geforce Experience will stop, so I can't use it to stream my desktop. | Audio consistantly getting lowered permanently when I adjust volume Posted: 14 Feb 2019 04:06 AM PST Here's the specs as best I can give them: -HP PAVILION POWER 580-023w SPECS: NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB Graphics Card Intel Core i5 7400 Processor 8GB DDR4 RAM 2400 1TB Hard Drive 300 watt power supply HP Odense2-K H170 Motherboard Its a prebuilt gaming pc I use Sennheiser headphones, I cant recall the make/model. The Issue: Essentially as the title says. Whenever I adjust my volume, the Maximum suddenly becomes quieter. Ive checked every possible volume slider I can and they are all at max, from youtube to discord. On both my Headphones and my speakers. It started today and I noticed about an hour ago mid discrod call, with people who are usually loud enough that I have to adjust my volume to be low. Now at max they're even quieter than that. Ive tried updating my audio drivers, but that didnt do anything. I restarted my pc, unplugged and plugged in wires to make sure nothing was 'loose'. Ive no idea what to do now. I know my hardware isnt broken because its always whenever I change a setting in the properties that it goes back to full volume. And even then, it seems quieter than it used to be. | 0% gpu usage in The witcher 3 only Posted: 14 Feb 2019 04:01 AM PST Hello, i can't figure out why but my gpu usage stay beetween 0 and 4% while playing The Witcher 3 according to windows task manager (and CPU stay around 20%). In every other game my gpu usage is fine (95-100% in assassins creed odyssey for ex) However i get 60 fps Ulltra 1440p with some drop to 30-50 fps every 2 min or so, a few months ago i remember that my gpu was around 85% for TW3 and i wasn't getting the occasional fps drop Is it really possible to get close to a smooth perf with 0% GPU and such high graphic settings? I reinstalled the game to get rid of all the mods i used and make a clean installation but the problem is still there any idea how to troubleshoot this issue? Ty for your time! Posted: 14 Feb 2019 12:03 AM PST A question regarding hardware for you all: can damaged hardware cause a drop in the overall performance (ie lower overall FPS and longer load times) within a game? I ask because, a few days ago, every game I play started to not only run at a lower average FPS level, but also took longer to load than normal. Now, I've been told by some that what I'm experiencing is likely a software issue, due to the fact that if my CPU, GPU, RAM or one of my drives was dying I'd be getting error messages, blue screens of death, crazy visual artifacting ect. - this would be consistent with the findings of the various hardware diagnostic programs (for my CPU, RAM and drives) that I've run, which haven't found any issues. (And yes, my graphics drivers are up to date.) I even went as far as reformatting both of my drives, but the problem persists. Does anyone have any insight they could share? [link] [comments]  |

Well, I said "never mind, I'll just plug in my optical cable, it should work". But it didn't. Whichever one I pick, it then closes the window, and pops up again, a few seconds later. When I clear the cache of Google Play-services, it just begins again, from the top. I have a PC running windows server, and a another one used for testing(it's a vm). I have installed WDS role on the server, plus the DHCP and DNS that are required to make WDS work, I'm able to get an IP adress when it's set up to automatic, so I'm sure that DHCP works fine, I have also installed boot.wim and install.wim files in the WDS management console, but whenever I try to perform PXE boot, I keep getting this error: I can't figure out what's wrong. | Macrium Reflect cloning 'Clone Failed Error 0 Read Failed 23 - Data error (cyclic redundancy check)' Posted: 14 Feb 2019 03:24 AM PST I'm trying to clone Windows 10 to a new hard drive, and I'm having trouble. It's from a 2TB drive to a 1TB drive, but the sectors I need combined are smaller than 1TB. I first tried Clonezilla but I only want to clone some sectors and not the whole drive, and it seems like that wasn't an option. I tried EaseUs Todo backup and it gave an error that said it couldn't read a sector in the main Windows partition. I then tried Macrium Reflect (Free) and then I got the following error when it was working on that same Windows partition: 'Clone Failed Error 0 Read Failed 23 - Data error (cyclic redundancy check)'. I also tried with "Ignore bad sectors" enabled but it gave the same error. The only thing I haven't tried yet is also turning on "Sector by sector" which I will try when I get home but I'm not sure if it will do anything. I have turned on VSS in Services. Disabled Firewall and Antivirus. Made sure the drives were connected properly. I have ran CHKDSK and there were no problem found. Followed this guide except for creating an image which I will try but I don't see why that would work if cloning doesn't. I couldn't find much about that exact error. So what I can still try for as far as I know:
If those 2 options don't work, is there anything else I can try? If I'm misunderstanding anything, please correct me. Also, if I decide to make use a system image, I understand that you just put it on the new drive and 'mount it', copy the contents to E:\ (new drive) and then boot from that drive? Is that all? I feel like there would be an extra step. The guides aren't too clear about this when it comes to a System image. Maybe I'm missing something. So i did try to turn it back on big it would only do so for about 1-2 seconds. The light/fans go on and the motherboard flashes 2 times and it goes out again.
