Have had this build for number of years, but has suddenly started boot looping without POSTing. Tried removing each ram chip to see if it was the problem. So not have spare CPU/GPU Last thing done to computer was switching sata system from ide to ahci to improve SSD performance, but it was working fine after that. Update: Tried removing all hardware other than motherboard and CPU, still looping [link] [comments]
My PC won't boot its OS and won't feed power to the Back Panel. Posted: 01 Dec 2018 01:22 PM PST I have a prebuilt PC and wanted to see what parts were on it and has removed the RAM and tried to remove my GPU but hesitated, I can't load into windows anymore and my back panel won't feed power to my USB accessories and my monitor. Microphone input keeps changing Posted: 01 Dec 2018 01:12 PM PST No idea when it started (I'd guess when I factory restarted my computer and put almost all new parts in) but when ever i get just a bit too loud my mic spikes and ear bleeds anyone listening to me, as fun as that is to randoms, I'd prefer to keep my friends not deaf. When I first installed it i couldn't find a good download of realtek audio and i found it on Microsoft app's (think realtek's site pointed me to that) had the current issue, uninstalled it and downloaded it from my motherboard's site, for a while that seems to have worked for a bit but started to have the issue again. No clue if it is realtek but it's not my headphones, bought new ones hoping to fix the issue. Something i don't get is realtek on my computer before the reset had mixer and option app, the ones i downloaded now, don't seem to. (Seems to be newer realtek doesnt have the audio manager and you have to use window's realtek app, could be wrong) After 3 more attempts reinstalling realtek I tried to mess with the levels, figured out the that my mic is fine after changing the microphone boost and having "listen to this device" on but as soon as i turn off "listen to this device" it goes back to being funky and i need to re enable listen to this device and change the microphone boost once before it levels out to being normal but I don't feel like hearing my self all the time to fix my issue, I know I could turn off the output but that's a work around and I really want this fixed. Need help in fixing my laptop's BSOD loop. Posted: 01 Dec 2018 11:47 AM PST My laptop (Asus R558UQ) has recently been stuck in chains of blue screens on boot. The blue screens of death just keep on recurring one after the other so I can't even boot the laptop to open it in safe mode to get a backup of the files. I looked it up on Google the the closest I found is that I updated my video drivers a few days back. Some of the BSOD errors were "critical section corrupt" and "kernel data ...". Is there any way I can recover the system (and get backup of data) or even freshly install windows if possible? Posted: 30 Nov 2018 06:12 PM PST Hello, first time poster here, so I'll try to make it as clear as I can. Here's what I'm running: HP desktop p-7-1203 Windows 7 Intel R core (tm) i3-2120cpu @3.30 GHz 8gb ram 64 bit operating system Intel R HD graphics Monitor 1: AOC E2343K Monitor 2: Acer V20HQL I bought a 2nd monitor (just a crappy one to use when working from home) and can't seem to get my display to extend across both. I have them hooked up with a VGA splitter. Currently my screens are mirrored. When I go into the display options it doesn't show a 2nd monitor. I've updated the drivers, no luck. Monitor still shows as "Generic PnP monitor" in device manager. Am I missing something? Both monitors work, but can't get the image to extend. On monitor 1 the resolution went way down too once I connected both monitors via the splitter, not sure if that has anything to do with it though. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Multiple crashes and "hard drive not found" Posted: 30 Nov 2018 07:33 PM PST Since a few days ago, my computer has been freezing about every 10-30 mins of use which 50/50 leads to a crash. When it boots up again it says "default boot device missing or boot failed". But once in a while the computer enters "automatic repair" which makes windows work as normal until it crashes again. I also left a picture making sure the wire is not on loose or anything like that. Also, I replaced the fan a month ago which could explain the crashing but wouldn't explain the "missing device" https://imgur.com/a/feovLAN https://imgur.com/a/VAmK7Jx [link] [comments]
Ethernet cable abnormally stuck Posted: 30 Nov 2018 06:03 PM PST I'm wasn't sure where else to post and I couldn't find this on the google I have my router (or at least an extender) badly positioned, but I don't have a good place to put it unless I go without ethernet Because it is badly positioned, I have an ethernet cord that is in the way when walking to my computer (I know, bad idea). I tripped over the cord earlier today and the router fell. I picked it up and checked the ports, and noticed the plug was stuck in an abnormal way (at least from what I've seen from my limited googling). Instead of there being a little hump near the front when pressing down on the back, preventing it from being pulled out, the clip you push down on somehow shifted above the port. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I linked a picture of it. The clip is wider than the top of the port, so I tried using a little force, but I'm worried about breaking it. I know it's not a good picture, I can't really get decent lighting and I'm using an older iphone. I can try to take another picture if you need it. Thanks in advance for trying to help.
