Am I the only one who comes here every day looking for their "next game"?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 11:30 AM PST

I'm a big fan of both Clash Royale and Golf Clash but I'm now quite burned out of the way both games operate. I like the concepts but I'm tired of the gameplay loop. I have tons of awesome single player games but I fiend that multiplayer competition and while there's tons of games like that out there, few are as well done as Clash Royale. I am a fan of F2P games and usually spend money on starter packs in them.

I come here every day looking for my next game. Dragalia Lost was one I thought was it but it's again, too much work to keep up to date and too much time to stay on top of things. Both Clash games you don't really need to log in daily or manage anything to progress. If you play, you are rewarded for it and there is no micromanaging involved. Also, gacha.

It's also extra hard to find my "next game" since I've become very fond of portrait oriented games.

My point was that I feel I'm not the only person longing for another amazing new game. What that game is will be different for everyone, though.

I'm looking for a game I've purchased at a discount

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 06:21 PM PST

the game is "Pudding Monsters HD", I remember having it on my previous phone, purchased at a discount but I can't find it anywhere, not on Zeptolab (the dev) play store page, not on my purchased apps list. Is it removed or something?

[REQUEST] a new game for an old player

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 09:58 AM PST

[REQUEST] I really crave a new game, but for some reason I just can't find right one.

What I am looking for: • An Android mobile game. • A turnbased build-type game, or a game you can pause without punishment. • No P2W and no you-need-X-friends/neighbours/whatever-to-pass-beyond-this-level-nonsense. • Decent graphics. • Quality gameplay thats worth more than just a few hours. • A good tutorial/presentation/introduction. • Initial price for buying the game is irrelevant if its good.

I've had good experience with games like: • Civilization (mobile) • SimCity (PC) • Various tycoon games (both platforms) • Theme Hospital (PC) - loved that one! • Plague inc. (mobile)

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

How many games currently support the 90Hz display on the ASUS ROG Phone, or the 120Hz display on the ASUS ROG Phone?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2018 11:09 PM PST

Was going through this article - https://themrphone.com/article/asus-rog-phone-first-impressions/

and I noticed that the author has talked about not enough games being there for the higher frame rate. I remember Razer announcing it had partnered with a lot of devs to create more games are higher refresh rates. What's the scene on that now?

Edit for title: The 120Hz on the Razer Phone.

    [REQUEST] space/pirate sim game

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 04:17 PM PST

I'm currently looking for games with space or sea exploration and simulation. I played Sid Meier's Pirates and Rebel Galaxy on pc so that's the vein of what I am looking for (crew management, trading, factions, bounty hunting, ship combats, ship upgradings and the like).

I'm ok with either free or paid. Can be played offline. Thank you. :)

[REQUEST] A good game (strict requirements)

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 11:15 AM PST

I'm, after what I call a good game, My requirements are in order of importance:

    1. A good game, after all if the game itself is crap then why bother.
    2. Immediate pause, what I mean by this is something you can drop at a seconds notice, turn based game play lends itself to this but some games make you feel you can't stop at certain times, the best example of this working that I've seen is Fire Emblem Heroes (alas it falls short in other areas though). I want to be able to hit the home button mid game play, close the app and be able to resume from where I left off the next time I load it.
    3. Pay upfront, this can include free games where the entire game can be bought for one single IAP for something reasonable (sub 30GBP)
    4. No in-app purchases, with exceptions to expansion packs, if you're unsure use the Quake 2 expansion packs as an example of the kind of thing I mean.
    5. No adverts, obviously in the game or on screen whilst playing the game.
    6. No ports, the only exception is if the game has drastically been reworked to work better on a touchscreen.
    7. Plays without internet connection, so it can be played on a bus trip in the arse end of nowhere.

Please recommend anything you think almost fits the requirements but please explain where it falls short!

This feels like a bit of a doozy but hopefully something somewhere fits the requirements.

Edit: added some details, also any genre is applicable although I have my personal tastes. Apparently people don't like my post anyone care to comment as to why?

How quickly does it take you to make up your mind about a game?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 03:07 AM PST

I have noticed that if I install a new game and start playing it that it takes me about 20 seconds to 40 seconds to decide if I am going to keep playing a game or I am going to uninstall. I feel that length of time is adequate to appraise the graphics and audio and from that draw a conclusion about the whole game. Am I being to quick to call or is this a natural progression after installing a few hundred android games over the years?

Your gaming experiences: preferences, personality and NPCs (Survey)

    Posted: 29 Nov 2018 01:26 AM PST

    https://york.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_50b4fUeInkogWHz

Hi there! Do you have a moment to share some of your experiences with digital games?

I'm a researcher interested in the experiences of gamers. I've put together a little survey that will ask some questions about your gaming preferences, your experiences in games, and your personality.

It should take 5-10 minutes to complete, and you must be 18 or older.

    Thanks for your time!

P.S. I've had some comments regarding a few of the questions in the survey. The questions we ask have been previously validated by other research groups, and so changing them might affect the integrity of the study. Just try to answer as honestly as you can!
