Battery Improvement on OP6 since updating to Pie Posted: 22 Sep 2018 02:01 PM PDT I've noticed that my screen on time has vastly improved since updating to Pie. Previously I was getting over 7 hours and ending on 3%. Then today I'm sitting at 18% and I'm already over 7 hours. Anyone else seen these improvements? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 22 Sep 2018 09:11 AM PDT I updated to Pie yesterday and was watching some YouTube videos and for some reason the white navbar is really obvious and stands out. Here's a screenshot I took. Also, Navbar apps isn't that good. Edit: It's a bug. u/ZappySnap brought it to my attention and I can replicate it. The bug occurs when you enter PIP mode then jump back into the app and go full screen. [link] [comments] |
Fingerprint sensor slower with the pie update? Posted: 22 Sep 2018 09:13 AM PDT Downloaded the new update and when I use the fingerprint sensor to unlock my phone I get the instant little vibration confirming that it unlocked but the screen stays black longer than it used to. Giving me an impression that it's slower, if that makes sense at all. It felt very snappy before now it just feels sluggish, anyone else getting this? Edit: it's not a big deal but wish it was the way it was before the update Edit 2: after using it a bit more, it seems like sometimes it's quick and other times it's slow, idk why [link] [comments] |

Modded OP6 OnePlus Launcher adds Google Feed [Root needed] Posted: 22 Sep 2018 11:48 AM PDT |
Posted: 22 Sep 2018 10:12 AM PDT I'd noticed that when I selected the new navbar/gestures style, it'd flash for a moment, then revert to default. After a quick search, the only solution I saw was some poor guy who wiped his phone and fresh installed. Stubborn and lazy, I looked for another solution. I knew I had disabled a bunch of OnePlus stuff, and I figured the launcher would be the closest thing in tied-in functionality, so I enabled it again. Worked immediately. Figured I'd share somewhere other than the comments in the update announcement thread in order to save people the hassle. TLDR: Enable or install the OnePlus Launcher if you're having issues with the new navigation gestures. [link] [comments] |
Can we please have the Always-On Display reenabled on Pie? Posted: 22 Sep 2018 06:35 AM PDT It didn't bother me on Oreo because I just Magisk-flashed it back into my phone but it no longer works on Pie and it makes me MAD. I honestly care much less for the headphone jack than this. Always-On Display is the one feature I genuinely loved to have enabled in my phone and used every day. And I'm absolutely not convinced by the "battery drain" issue with it. In my case it's been negligible at best and even it is and issue for someone, there's literally nothing stopping the person from just going back to lift-up display instead. [link] [comments] |

Oneplus 6 w/Pie: Bluetooth randomly turning off and on Posted: 22 Sep 2018 10:25 AM PDT When listening to media using my Bluetooth headphones after the Pie update, after a few seconds (sometimes slightly longer) Bluetooth on the phone will turn off on its own, with the icon in the status bar disappearing and everything. After a few seconds it turns itself back on, rinse and repeat. This is incredibly annoying, is anyone having the same issue? Update: it seems like this may be related to Bluetooth interference? This seems to happen when my Pebble watch is attempting to connect to the phone, but when I turn on airplane mode on the watch, it doesn't happen (or at least, hasn't happened yet). Is this a known issue? [link] [comments] |
Pleasently suprised by the battery life on Pie Posted: 22 Sep 2018 06:24 AM PDT I feel like it could outlast previous custom kernels on dark mode and amoled wallpaper, and right now i'm on stock kernel with light mode. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Sep 2018 03:55 PM PDT What is up with the animations in the Pie update being all over the place. Being a visual nerd as I am, this is really annoying (not in terms of functionality, but just a massive eye broccoli). For example: 1) Pulling down the notification/quick-settings slider from the home screen, and then pressing the gear icon to bring up full settings, you see an animation of full settings appearing/flying in from the back 2) Pressing on any of the settings, animation brings the new menu from the bottom of the screen in a clunky, jagged, almost broken way 3) Going back (either by pressing the back arrow in the top left, or with back gesture/button from the menu bar) animates going to the previous screen by disappearing in the bottom 4) If you have an application open (FB/Whatsapp/IG/whatever) and then pull the notification slider and press the gear icon will bring the full settings menu from the right, animation looking like a card switch (accompanied by a twitchy animation of the quick setting slider going up) 5) Going back (to the application you opened the settings from), you will bring back the previous app again in a card-like fashion from the left 6) but go back once more (from the application to the home screen) and poof the app dissolves I find these transitions and animations to be very inconsistent, and generally poorly executed. What do you guys think? Any way to circumvent this? [link] [comments] |
Did I ruin the tempered glass screen protector? Posted: 22 Sep 2018 02:58 PM PDT I tried to install the screen protector, but had a bit of grit or something trapped under the screen, so I took off the protector, used the tacky sticker to remove it, but most have just moved it, so I had to pull it off again, and it just turned into a downward spiral. Can I wash the back of the glass and still get use out of it, or is the adhesive shot at this point and I need to buy a new one? [link] [comments] |
[Q] Bootloader version question Posted: 22 Sep 2018 02:32 PM PDT Hi r/oneplus, I am an impatient moron who went ahead and flashed the stock pie rom using twrp (bluspark). Now, like i used to do on my nexus, I wiped all partitions, put the rom via usb on the phone and flashed it. It worked, but twrp told me one of my A (or B, don't remember) partition does not have an OS installed. Long story short, I ended up bricking my device (would only boot to fastboot mode) and I did recover from it using the stock fastboot ROMs. Now pie seems to be working fine, but I am still a bit paranoid. The flashing scene has changed since my golden years with a nexus 4. My problem, the Bootloader version and Baseband version on the fastboot screen are blank !! My screen is as follows: is this intended behavior or am i still screwed ? TD;DR: baseband version and bootloader version missing in fastboot screen. [link] [comments] |
Battery life on OP6 w/ doze disabled and AOD (via Magisk Module) Posted: 22 Sep 2018 12:47 PM PDT Honestly felt these kinda posts were fake/annoying because people would have 6hrs+ SOT but with only WiFi and literally not using the phone. I'm not a "heavy" user (mobile games are pretty lame tbh), but I used my phone on Chrome, Reddit (Sync), Fitness tracking, Youtube, Spotify, etc with Location, Bluetooth, WiFi, and data enabled (not to mention the 24/7 always on display and manually disabling doze). Overall, I'd say that this is incredible. it's miles better than my 3T. [link] [comments] |
Fitbit no longer syncs to OP6 since the Android Pie update. Posted: 22 Sep 2018 07:07 AM PDT Some Google searches have revealed that Fitbit has been having ongoing issues with Android Pie since launch. If anyone finds a manual work around or a fix, please let me know! [link] [comments] |
My 5T sometimes shows the downloading icon for less than a second. It it a virus? Posted: 22 Sep 2018 03:32 PM PDT Is it just me or my OnePlus 5t sometimes shows the download icon on the upper left and disappears after less than 1 second, only to appear again and do the same? I'm a little worried because I also think I've opened a pishing email that claimed to be PayPal (I didn't click anything on it, just opened the notification) and it sent me to the Outlook app but the mail was none to be found. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Anyone has a theory? If it was downloading something it should notify that it was or was not successfully downloaded, but in this case that didn't happen. Pi so far (Personal Experience) Posted: 22 Sep 2018 02:34 PM PDT Updated my phone manually today and so far I'm liking it. Notification bar is faster and i love the app switcher section as it reminds me of IOS 7 back when i was an apple fanboy. Though one gripe I'm having is the slow times opening social media apps as well as a mild heat up on my phone. nothing too crazy but maybe should be looked at. Other than that I like it! Bluetooth stutters on OP6 with Pie stable Posted: 22 Sep 2018 08:22 AM PDT Hi all, I updated my OP6 to Pie today, and now Bluetooth audio (Bose QC35) has started stuttering during playback using Spotify or PowerAmp. I've tried turning off WiFi, re-pairing my headset, and rebooting the phone but the problem remains. Anybody seeing similar issues? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
OnePlus 6 auto-selecting wrong time zone on Pie Posted: 22 Sep 2018 02:03 PM PDT Since I updated to the stable Pie release yesterday my OP6 keeps automatically selecting the wrong time zone (it keeps selecting Pacific Time, I live in Mountain Time). It never did this before this particular update. I'm on T-Mobile. Does anyone have any ideas about why it would be doing this and how to fix it? [link] [comments] |
