Recently got a Nokia 7 Plus, just updated this very second to Android 8.1.0 (says 'Androidone' when the phone loads) Anyway, prior to updating I had a lot of people saying their text messages to me were failing. Have had the phone for 2 months with no other issues. I do notice sometimes the signal being quite low, but that's all, and the failing text messages from people seems to be a new thing, unless it's only just started being mentioned. Could this be just a signal issue, like they've messaged me at a time when my signal is extremely poor? Or could it be another issue or setting? I tried to reinstall the stock rom with twrp custom recovery and that also didn't work. I then went back to the screen that let's you power it off and stuff and tried to figure out what to do. I've gently wiped away any debris that might have been caught inside the charging port area. I've tried updating my phone...And even though it says it's charging, it won't actually be charging....Any ideas? My phone seems to have been turning Wifi on/off on its own and I want to see if I can document when it was happening. I'd like to see connection activity or usage history over Wifi. I'm not entirely sure what's possible and my own research hasn't turned up much. I'm a novice when it comes to accessing and interpreting Android log info. Pictures are being taken on his phone that he didn't take. They changed their numbers and within hours it started up again. I imagine it's on his phone and changing the number did absolutly nothing. However for a few weeks now my device keeps changing my Home address to my Work's address, I spend a full weekend usually at work so Im there for about 36 hours. I have no idea how to get it to stop doing it. Ive grown so used to it turning on my WiFi that I've gone over my data charges twice now because of it not recognizing my actual home as "Home". | Space Issue on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 32Gb. Posted: 28 Aug 2018 11:52 AM PDT Hey, I was cleaning up my phone today for the first time in like 4 or so years. I only have 24 apps installed and only 1 of those are a game. The rest are like a cab company app, Tinder, Instagram, Banking app, Facebook & FB Msgr, and other things of this nature. I have added a link to a screen shot below that shows the space used on my phone by recognizable files is only at 5.24Gb for "All" and a break down of what makes up that 5.24Gb. In the same screen shot, at the bottom, you can see a bar labeled "total storage available." This bar reads 6.34Gb of 35.69Gb is usable. On the bar it shows the same breakdown as above but color coded as a % of the bar, then the bar is almost completely greyed out showing "other" files taking up a huge majority of my phones storage. Surely 35.69-5.24=30.45 and not 6.34. So what the hell is taking up 22.11Gb of space on my phone if its not an Image, a Video, Music, a Document, or an App? I get sometimes more space is used than recorded by an operating system but that's 2/3rds of my storage space that undefined files are taking up and I can't find a way to free that space up because what ever is taking up that much space on my phone I can't find it to delete it. I won't use it for a few weeks at a time, and I will recharge it and power it back up when I'm in the mood to use it. At this point, when Android starts up, I get EVERY notification it missed from the moment it died until the present, which results in hundreds hitting it at once and making it generally unusable for several minutes while it tries to deal with it. Facebook posts from the previous week, every single Hangouts message, etc. I've never had a device give me all the notifications that it missed while being off. | I've been having issues with my SD card Posted: 28 Aug 2018 12:44 PM PDT Hi, I recently bought a 64Gb SD card for my phone because it doesn't have enough capacity for my daily use. But right away it started showing some errors in apps I normally use, I first encountered the issues in Spotify, sometimes my card wouldn't show up when I tried changing the storage location, I always had to reinstall Spotify to see the storage changing option. When I tried downloading my songs, the download would start, I would see that some songs were downloaded, some playlists even, but it would come a time when it would just stop downloading songs and if I tried downloading more playlists it would say the download had stopped because there was no space left on the device, when it clearly hadn't even scratched the surface of the 58Gb left. This issue happened many many times, sometimes I would download some songs, turn off my device, come back to Spotify and the songs would be there, but half and hour later (give or take) everything would be gone again and the settings would only be showing my phone's internal storage. I thought the issue was with Spotify only, so I tried looking into its forums to see if the problem had been solved, but there was nothing there I hadn't already tried. I then tried using my card with other apps such as Netflix, I was successfully able to download episodes of shows I enjoy, but when I tried playing them, they would be corrupt or just wouldn't play at all. Same thing happened to the new Youtube Go app, I would succesfully download videos but at some point the video would enter an endless buffering eventhought it was downloaded, I would skip parts of the video and it would play normally again until the buffering started again in another part of the video. The next thing I tried was moving apps to my SD card entirely, and when I tried opening the apps again they would just crash instantly, then wouldn't open at all. Even after restarting my device. I constantly found myself formatting my card (from my phone) to see if that would solve the problem, but I just ended up having the same issues every time. I also tried using my card in my Windows 10 machine, and after formatting it, I can use it normally with no issues whatsoever. I also noticed that whenever I tried plugging the card into my pc directly from my phone it would always ask me to format it to be used. Thankfully I don't have anything too important there yet. I am sure the hardware of the card is fine, it is a San Disk Ultra, it's less than a week old, and my computer and phone can both identify it, and even running the Windows diagnostics for it there weren't any errors encountered with it. I think the problem might have to do with some sort of lock that I don't know how to overcome, or it might be a compatibility issue, I've never used cards that were bigger than 32Gb before. If you need any more info about my device, PC or card I'd be happy to give it, I just want this darn thing to work normally! [link] [comments]  |
