Bluestacks is bloated, Nox is shady, Memu has ads. Which emulator is the lesser evil?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 02:18 PM PDT

I have been playing games on my phone, but I've decided I'd prefer on the pc while I'm home. I've only tried Nox and I have to say it's working pretty well, but I have been hearing rumors that it is spyware. I'm going to try out Memu and see if the ads are tolerable. If you guys have any other recommendations in android emulators, please let me know.

    EDIT:

Is there an app that can disable the nav bar from appearing while gaming? Whenever I'm playing my game, I almost always seem to swipe to the left just enough (when trying to press the attack button) to make the nav bar show up. It's kinda annoying.

[Request] Looking for Slow-Paced Offline Games

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 09:27 AM PDT

Hey all, new job has me sitting at a machine not doing anything for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Need something to help me kill time. There is no service within the building, but I can download updates or the like during breaks.

However, I dont really have the ability to hold my phone in both hands while doing this, so I'm looking for some nice slow-paced games.

Really love RPGs and interesting stories. Also really enjoy puzzle games a good deal. Not super interested in most roguelikes or roguelites, thanks.

    Appreciate any insight very much!

    What happened to Leo's Fortune?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 09:55 AM PDT

I just checked my wishlist and saw that Leo's Fortune has been removed from the Google play store. I have been waiting for it to go on sale but now it's completely gone. I wanted to ask what happened to it and if there are any future plans with this game.

[Request] Any base building idle/incremental games that dont make you wait days just for one thing to upgrade or whatever?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 01:32 PM PDT

Basically I like clash of clans / deep town type games where you basebuild, mine resources, craft, etc. But I hate having to wait 14 hours for one thing to level up or whatever. Are there any games out there that can scratch that itch without all the headache?

Advice needed for finding the right game (offline RPG)

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 05:53 PM PDT

    Hi guys.

So I'm finding myself at a loss here. There are so many (great) games out there, that's why it amazes me to think what I'm looking for might not even exist.

I need a game that supports my work by allowing me to skip out of whatever I'm doing for 5-30 minutes at a time. Something casual that doesn't involve me too much. And after which my mind is refreshed to continue with whatever I was working on before.

Now, there are a lot of games that ALMOST fit that bill. Them being: WoW, Diablo II, Dragon Age Origins, Marvel Strike Force/Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, even Civilisation (IV).

Now, each of those games has an issue that disqualifies them.

WoW is online. I need an offline game. Why? Because I have found that all online games tend to become competitive, and I don't want to be sucked into that.

D II would almost be the perfect fit. Problem? Too dark. I like fantasy settings, and stuff like the Duskwood as in WoW is great. Even the Chaos areas in Warhammer Age of Reckoning I liked. But Diablo is just too much always deathdeath, darkdark, demonsdemons, zombies, hell blablabla. Not my cup of tea.

Dragon Age, like Witcher or other great RPGs, is just too much story. Love playing these games, but only when I really have a few hours straight to burn. Can't jump in and out quickly, so completely incompatible to work.

MSF/SWGoH would be almost perfect too, but similar to WoW, they encourage competition too much, and I want to avoid the frustration of getting my ass kicked by competitive players. As I mentioned, this is about refreshing my mind, and maybe the spirit, not about chewing on my desk.

Civilisation probably seems a bit out of place in this list. But, to me it's about building something, at my own pace, simultaneously while I do other stuff. Whether I'm building a character or a castle/city/world/civilization is not so important. Actually, the ultimate game would be something that allows me to build both character(s) AND a city/realm, offline, at my own pace. But Civilisation, similar to DAO or the Witcher, is just too complex. Not good for jumping in and out for a quick fix. I need something less complex, less involved, where I'm not required to spend at least two hours to make any dent in the proceedings.

I'm curious as heck if anyone will come up with any suggestions that might fit the bill.

Thank you all for reading :)

Looking for RPGs with actual role playing, choices/consequences, NPC interaction, and good dialogue. Any suggestions?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 06:13 AM PDT

I've played the Baldurs Gateses, Planescape Torment, Shadowrun, Always Sometimes Monsters (which I love and spam recommendations for), and KOTOR. I can't help but think I missed out on some. Not super big into hard combat or hard puzzles, I mainly like characters, story, and dialogue. Thanks y'all.

Google Play/Developer removed BOUGHT game! - DEVELOPER'S DEFINITIVE ANSWER

    UPDATED: 8/28/2018 10:57:00 AM (UTC -5)

This is an update to my previous post where all the problem and evidence is shown: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/comments/996lb7/google_playdeveloper_removed_bought_game/

Today earlier I got a new response from Square Enix, the developer of "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light".

They explained me that I should be able to download the game as always. So they are saying they didn't remove the game to download (just removed to new buyers).

As you can see, developers don't remove the game for downloading again if purchased, they only remove the game to new customers. The game is kind of hosted by Google or Square Enix in their servers so that old buyers can still download and play (the same in steam and many other stores).

HOWEVER, I want to point out that I'm still unable to download the game. I don't know if it's a Google Play error, but according to Square Enix's response, they provided the links to still download the game in their email response.

SOMETHING TO THINK: If we still can see the screenshots, the reviews and all the details of the game in Google Play (at least we buyers can), then I guess that means what Square Enix is saying is true: they didn't remove the game to download. If they had, isn't it better to just removed the whole thing? (You can go to my original post and see the last image and video. That section is the one I mean).

I let you the email response and the links. Please share your thoughts and if I should accept an Steam game since I can't still download the Lara Croft android game:

    Grindy turn based rpg?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2018 07:21 AM PDT

Hi I'm looking for a grindy rpg, preferably turn based but not essential. I started to play orna and I liked it quite a lot apart from the actual map/ Pokemon go aspect of it which I guess is kind of it's selling point lol. Any suggestions would be great!
