Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:59 PM PDT Hey. I've recently got a OP6 and it's amazing - but PiP for YT doesn't seem to work? I can find articles saying they relaxed the YT red subscription requirement and the phone PiP setting is enabled for YT but it doesn't work. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
OP6 - Petition for right-side clock Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:05 PM PDT I'm really enjoying my OnePlus 6 the more I use it, but a few niggles remain. One of which being - there would be a ton more space for notifications on the left side of the notch, if the clock could be moved to the right side! I almost always only have WiFi and cell signal icons on the right, so there's a large gap where the clock could be. Hopefully OnePlus considers this for a future update. [link] [comments] |
Oneplus Nylon Case short term look Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:38 AM PDT After 1 month the logo was coming away, do mind i take alot of care with my phone and don't throw it about and realistically it sees very minimal use. These pictures however are from using this case straight away from purchasing the phone for around 2 months. My phone is always left in the case and i leave it on clean surfaces most of the time away from moisture where possible. I thought i'd share this for those interested in this case to see that for me personally, i don't think its viable long term and looks incredibily tacky once the logo fades to a great ordeal. I'm not trying to create hate because i love the phone and i think the case is nice for the first couple of weeks but for a case so expensive it should be able to last and remain visually appealing for a far longer period of time. I will personally need to get a new case and my phone looks rubbish with this faded worn looking case on. Thanks to u/xdavidhu you can see what the phone case can look like from just 2 weeks of usage: Read more about his experiences here: https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/93ctbf/oneplus_6_nylon_bumper_case_qualitydurability/ I have shown my pictures of 2 months of use. The above is from 2 weeks so this clearly highlights the lack of durability of this case. More so in comparison to my pictures, you can see alot more clearly the fibres in somewhat disarray in parts of the phone case. I just wanted to keep potential buyers and current users informed. I will keep this post updated if i feel the need for it. Can others with the same case comment as to whether their own cases have been affected similarly, ideally with pictures. Thank you! How long does it take to approve free bagpack order? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:06 PM PDT Hi, I ordered OnePlus bagpack using referral points 18 days ago and it still says the payment is pending. I asked customer support and they said it wil take time as we have to manually approve your order. How long does it usually take for order to get approved? Choosing a ROM for my OnePlus 2 Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:09 PM PDT So, as my title says, I am looking to flash a custom ROM onto my OnePlus 2. I have had this phone for close to three years now, and seeing as OP stopped updating it a while ago but the phone still operates smoothly, I was thinking of changing it up. I've looked at a few options and looked up reviews and recommendations on the OP forum and XDA forums and most people seem to recommend Lineage, Resurrection Remix, and Cosmic OS. People say they enjoy these ROMS for their battery life and other features but no ROM camera is as good as the Oxygen OS one. But, the latest posts about these ROMs range from a few months to a year ago so I was wondering if any current OP2 users who are not using Oxygen have any comments on those ROM's camera conditions now or your workarounds for getting a decent phone camera and/or any other thoughts about these ROMs. Feel free to recommend other ROMs that you like. Not looking for much specifically other than voLTE support, android 8.0+, Alert Slider support, and fingerprint support. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 05:49 PM PDT Just updated to the newest OTA for the 5T but flashing Magisk for root throws the phone into a boot loop and root doesn't stick. Does this happen to anyone else with the new update? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:57 PM PDT Since the A6000 has less connectivity afaik, I was wondering if it was an issue when using it in Europe. Has anyone experienced it? [link] [comments] |
Can I have your honest opinions about this company and their phones? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 09:52 AM PDT I've been looking to upgrade my phone (it's been 4 years.). I've been eyeballing the Oneplus 6, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. I didn't consider the Oneplus 6 at first mostly because I heard about the credit card leaks, but I keep seeing people recommend Oneplus phones. I also didn't much like how the phone looks but that changed when I saw the white and pink and jolly rancher red variants. I also like the dedicated community for this phone. So what are some of the best reasons to love this company/phone, and what are the absolute worst things? How have they gone towards addressing the bad things? [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to rollback to a previous OS update? (5T) Posted: 31 Jul 2018 04:57 PM PDT Hello, I bought the OP5T in December before the upgrade to Oreo. I loved Nougat on this phone! I felt the OS was super stable, camera quality and battery life were top notch. I'm not so pleased with Oreo. After the upgrade I noticed that the phone would overheat while using Pro Mode/Portrait Mode or while navigating using Maps or Waze. This never happened on 7.1 Is there a way to rollback? If so, is it possible to do so without rooting? [link] [comments] |
Any good matte/anti-glare screen protector for the 3T? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 08:04 AM PDT So I bought a nice 3T but struggle to find a good matte screen protector. I searched on ebay, amazon and found that most have poor review ("stretchy/poorly cut, excessive blur, poor fit,..."). I did saw awesome reviews for matte protectors on the OP2 and OPX though. Any recommendations? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 02:40 PM PDT So my op3 cam's been acting out, not focusing properly but working just fine at other times... After going through a couple of threads on the official oneplus forums, I found out it's a common issue with the op3/3t. But the public opinion seems divided, some are saying it's a software issue and can be fixed with a full system reset but others say it's a problem with the hardware and that I'll need to get it to a service centre. Any suggestions? I also found that sticking a small piece of magnet to the right side of the camera bump fixes almost everything, the camera can focus on things but it's not accurate and seems unsteady. Deciding on New Phone. Would love some input. Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:48 AM PDT So I have a couple questions and would love some input. I am a US user that will be on T-Mobile and Im in the market for a new phone. Im coming from an Axon 7 that shit the bed. Any other insight beyond the questions I thought of would be much appreciated. -Whats One Plus's track record in the US market with support? Do their phones actually last? I was a bit upset with my Axon loosing functionality over its life until just never turned back on. [link] [comments] |
Any tempered glass recommendation ? Posted: 31 Jul 2018 01:26 PM PDT Something with no black borders and that covers all the screen (if at all possible) ? The one from OnePlus has this black borders which seem to create some halo and also, not sure that one covers all the screen either. But most important, the offical one is way too expensive. Getting trash SOT on my one plus 6 Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:59 AM PDT I've had this phone for about a month or so and for even the first week the battery wasn't getting me through the day but I blamed it on me being on the phone too much because I was on vacation. But now I'm a first year college student who's hardly on his phone for at least the first half of the day and I have about 50% battery life by about 3pm with just near 2 hours SOT. P.s I use greenify too still not much improvement. Got all the standard social media apps [link] [comments] |
Reminder Notification Keeps Appearing Posted: 31 Jul 2018 04:45 PM PDT Last night I created a reminder and thusly marked it as completed when the notification for it appeared. 10 minutes after marking it as completed, the reminder notification appeared again. I then deleted the completed reminder in hopes of preventing from seeing it again. Today, I have gotten a notification for the completed reminder twice so far. It is deleted from all my reminders and does not show up in the list. How do I make my OnePlus 6 stop notifying me of a reminder I have already marked as completed and deleted? [link] [comments] |
One Plus 6 compatibility across countries Posted: 31 Jul 2018 05:49 AM PDT I have a friend who is coming back from India to my home country of South Africa soon and offered to pick me up a OP 6. They are double the price if bought locally. As I understand it certain devices are region locked by providers and sometimes there are issues with the cell bands being different in certain regions Will this be an issue if I import a OP 6 from India to South Africa? If you guys and gals are not certain can someone point me in the right direction to confirm this? A quick Google search yielded no results. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 02:58 AM PDT Full disclosure, this post is copy/paste from my own post on OP feedback forums, I post here too because maybe if more people saw it, OnePlus would actually do something about instead of replying polite answers and doing nothing. Here it goes: I'm using the OnePlus 6 Midnight Black 8GB/128GB for more than 2 months (23rd May to be exact), and even though there have been 4 OOS updates since then, and even if I had opened tickets for all the issues described below, and I was assured that my feedback has been sent to developer team, nothing actually was improved regarding this issues with the OOS updates. 1. Adaptive brightness, this ticket I opened from the 1st week I started using the phone. The display is too dark for any given lightning conditions and worse in direct sunlight. Yes some actually prefer that way due different reasons but since there isn't "one size fits all" option, the adaptive brightness should be adjustable - Adjustable Adaptive Brightness, you can use this marketing name if you ever fix it 📷. I know you can drag the slider till you're pleased but there's a catch. I'll try to explain how it actually works: Say I find the it too dim for case A, i drag the slider and adjust backlight to 15%. Now here comes the kicker. For 200 LUX i still get 30%. You might say that is a good thing because it gives you adjustments for ever level individually but it actually doesn't. If I find that is to dim in case B, and I adjust the settings to my needs, whatever changes I did for another ambient light level are lost, so when i get back to a room with 50 LUX ambient light, the phone reverts to the 10% backlight preset instead of 15% i adjusted. For this to work properly the easiest way would be that same adjustment value to be added or subtracted for every backlight value so it would look like this: A. ambient light 50 LUX - software sets display backlight to 10% (preset) + 5% user adjustment Or another way which is more complicated but gives more control is this: (adaptive brightness has intervals defined, doesn't deal with single ambient light values) A. ambient light between: 0 - 50 LUX - software sets display backlight to 10% (preset) + 5% user adjustment They did something about this with 517/518 OOS update. They increased the minimum level of the back light, so for the 0 Lux ambient light the back light wont be 1% and it will be 3% but this just affects situation with very low light. Tired of waiting for the development team to actually do a proper implementation I did a hackjob myself: but this is no way normal! Also regarding brightness, the panel being made by Samsung supports high brightness mode, which in means that the software can increase the voltage supplied to the display if its in direct sunlight. Obviously the control interface is there but for some reason OOS ignores it, so again I had to make my own app that actually tracks ambient light (read by the phones sensor) and if its behind a certain threshold it activates High Brightness Mode (which makes your screen about 25% brighter that the max brightest setting). But it requires ROOT to work 2. VoLTE / VoWiFI. Now as you know OnePlus doesn't really do carrier partnership but they did add VoLTE / VoWiFi to some carriers (10 tops I think). Xiaomi did not even sold officially in Europe and had profiles for most EU carriers. Meanwhile on OnePlus I had again "to hack" my way: More information here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/guide-volte-vowifi-german-carriers-t3817542. Again this is a workaround not the desired solution for a device that you paid a hefty sum and expect the company getting those money to take feedback into account especially since they claim all over the place they listen to customer feedback. The only response I got was something like "thanks for your interest we'll pass to the development team" and that's about that 3. Doze Mode . This mostly about Whatsapp which I'm the 1st to admit: it became a shitty coded app in the last years but I need it because most of my fiends and family use it. Even if i set to not optimize Whatsapp (or whatever other app) and advanced optimization is disabled I still have delays sometimes up to 5 mins since the messages was sent until I received it. Support recommend a 3rd party app from play store that allows you to edit the heartbeat interval. Thanks I can do that from shell without any 3rd party apps but its not the desired solution. Not even my own solution of making Whatsapp a system app and thus being ignored by battery optimization (and it works!, instant notifications, no battery drain) is the desired one. The desired one is that when you select don't optimize to be not optimized at all, just like a system app is ignored by the battery optimization process. For all its faults, Samsung (yes I had a S8 before OP6) didn't have the delayed notification problem, probably because they added most used chat apps in exceptions directly from code. Conclusion: As you can see for any of those things that annoy me and probably others like me, I've found solutions (for 2 I created my self the solutions, me being a curious person and a developer, and for VoLTE/VoWiFi i found a solution on XDA-Developers). But as I said this is not the desired / normal outcome. I paid OnePlus for the device (software and hardware) so I expected them to implement fixes and improvements, not me the customer. Thanks and sorry for the long post. [link] [comments] |

uag case compatibility and case recommendation Posted: 31 Jul 2018 03:40 AM PDT So, I'm about to buy a oneplus 6, but I'm the kind of person that doesn't buy a phone until I know exactly which case and screen protector I'll use on it (might be why I have never broken a phone). After researching for a while I think I'll probably use this uag case, it offers a lot of protection and doesn't cover the ports, has a raised front lip and so on. Problem is I couldn't find too many user reviews, so I don't know if this case works with the original oneplus tempered glass screen protector. Does anyone here uses this case with a tempered glass screen protector? Does it work fine? And would you recommend any other case? Thanks a lot! [link] [comments] |
OP6 case with tempered glass concern Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:55 AM PDT Had the OP6 since launch. Was too lazy to install the OP tempered glass I ordered with the phone. Just did and when I put on my carbon bumper case there is not much lip for protection. Its even worse with the sandstone case (not bumper). Anyone elsethe same concern? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2018 11:36 AM PDT I have not been able to change the current from £ to €. I followed the tutorials, did a factory reset, but nothing. All my payment methods are in € and the desktop version of Google Playstore shows everything in €. Nonetheless, the android app still shows prices in £. To my knowledge, I have nothing in my Google accounts still connected to the UK or to £. I can buy stuff over the desktop but in-app payments still show in £. [link] [comments] |
