Yep. HTC is dead here in the U.S. (sorta ranty)

    Posted: 30 Jul 2018 06:18 PM PDT

Since I broke the back on my own U11. I have NOWHERE to turn it in for repair. Unless I want HTC itself to hold it hostage for almost a year. I'll have to do it myself.

Sprint no longer carries any htc device. The U11 was the last. And wasn't even showcased on shelves. Other than select corporate stores. 6 months from U.S. release, it was removed from sales.

Sprint doesn't carry a single phone model I'm interested in. Replaced HTC with one overpriced Moto Z force. And 4 budget Motorola models. The new LG G7 phone looks like a budget model, yet is msrp'd at $700+. Really?

Samsung S9/S9+ have an issue where your entire camera roll is sent to a random contact via Samsung messanger. Unbeknownst to the owner. Sprint employees (at least at our local store) are aware of this, yet doesn't stop them from selling it to you. So no thank you. As if the heavy handed skins, lag, shitty battery life after a yr, and excessive bloat wasn't already enough. I would NEVER pay in excess of $500 for a smartphone. Especially an all glass one.

Finding a replacement back is either super pricy, or very difficult sourcing an oem replacement. It's cheaper to do it myself, MUCH cheaper.

But what's the point? Looks like one of thee best phones Sprint ever carried, is the very model they got rid of. Why? And, like my prior lgg3 and lgg4 was just tossed aside, and forgotten. Blows my mind they still sell crappy LGs. Well known for severe manufacture defects. Yet HTC is who they toss under the bus.

I'm gonna have to make a tough decision once this phone gives up the ghost. Aside from my true unlimited plan that is no longer offered. I left Verizon (too much for way too little) because not only was it much cheaper. Sprint USED to have a decent lineup. Sadly phones like U11+ and U12+ don't work very well on our U.S. carriers. And sure as hell don't on sprint.

So, here I am stuck with the BEST phone they have on sprint. Yet no support after Dec 2017. Best Buy no longer carries them. Amazon still overpricing them. Parts are extremely hard to source.

We don't get options like pixels, or OnePlus, oppo etc. Global phones that work on ALL carriers BUT Sprint.

Hopefully, when Sprint and T-Mobile merge (if that's even true). More options will become available. If not, only options for any of us here in the U.S. to even get phones on HTCs level. Would be overpriced companies like Verizon or At&t.

But yeah, from what I've gotten online so far. At least here in the U.S. HTC is gone. And Samsung and IPhones are what's largest. Not bad devices, just severly overhyped and over-marketed imo.

If only the U11 didn't break so easily....😔

Bragged about being a 1GB speed capable device. Yet, on Sprint it'll NEVER live up to its potential. I'm lucky to even see 1mb speeds when home. I'm not even kidding....

Htc u12+ how to turn off autohide buttons

    Posted: 30 Jul 2018 05:01 AM PDT

Had the u12+ for a week. The navigation buttons automatically hide, and it's driving me nuts. Whenever I need to go back, I need to swipe up to reveal them, then can go back.

Anybody know how to fix this so they're always there?

Can't Connect to WiFi on HTC One (M8)

    Posted: 30 Jul 2018 07:45 AM PDT

I'm trying to backup my photos to Google Photos and Prime photos on all my old devices, but I can't seem get an internet connect with my M8. I can see all available networks. When I select one the "Connection Optimizer" opens and I receive the following message:

    "Webpage not available

The webpage at r/http://hla2.safemovedm.com/webping-s.html might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

    Suggestions:

-Make sure you have a data connection

    -Reload this webpage later

    -Check the address you entered"

There is also a checkbox (which is check) at the bottom that says "Automatically accept T&C's for this hotspot provider from now on"

I've tried multiple WiFi networks that work on my current phone, so I don't know what the issue is nor how to fix it
