DO NOT UPDATE TO 8.1 OREO WITHOUT TAKING A BACKUP OF YOUR SMS. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:46 AM PDT Forgot to mention it's the Mi A1's update. There's a bug which is deleting the entire sms history. If you don't have automatic backup then turn on and sync before rebooting/updating. [link] [comments]

Redmi 5 Plus 150Mbps 5Ghz wifi Posted: 29 Jun 2018 08:16 PM PDT Hello, Going straight to the point. My R5P is giving me only 150Mbps for a wifi on 5Ghz band and 75 Mbps for the 2.4Ghz band. Dont really know what's going on. The phone is supposed to get AC speeds which every other phone on my network gets. Speeds like 833 Mbps. Tried a few tweaks on the router, like changing channels changing the speeds 20 40 or 80. Limiting it to AC etc. None of them change it. It seems that AC only doesn't even work on the phone. Couple of questions about rooting and flashing a rom. Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:25 PM PDT Hi, i'm kinda getting back to this world of flashing rom's and rooting, so there's a couple of things i don't understand. Do i need to root the phone to flash a rom? For example Lineage OS. Why is there no guide on how to root on the wiki? Are there any consequences on rooting? Is it possible to unroot again without losing warranty or detecting that the phone was rooted? What's the difference between the flashing a rom in fasboot mode, edl mode, recovery mode and twrp? Thank you for your patience. [link] [comments]

MI A1 still no June patch !!!!!! Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:09 AM PDT It's June 29 and still no sign of June security update on my phone. Phone was bought from an online retailer free of carrier, so I'm not depending of any carrier for updates. Xiaomi what the hell are you doing, I'm starting to think that was a bad choice when I bought this phone. UPDATE: Just finished updating. UPDATE: Big bug: after update all my SMS were deleted. Weird files on RN5's Internal Storage Posted: 29 Jun 2018 10:45 AM PDT I noticed some really weird files on my RN5 today, after plugging it into my work computer to transfer something. I suspected MIUI at first, but knowing where MIUI stores the files it creates on a device (in a seperate folder named "MIUI"), that thought was quickly erased. These files were in almost every folder and subfolder, and they had also created folders of their own in the root of my internal storage, with similarly weird names. Some examples : https://imgur.com/a/z6Jmaf2 They were also not visible from within the phone itself, no matter what file explorer I tried, only on PCs. My next thought was, maybe it was Antutu's doing, which is shady af in its own right. ...Then I remembered the work computers all have McAffee Enterprise on them, which tries to encrypt absolutely anything you may connect on that PC. I am almost certain it is the culprit, but if anyone knows something, please reply. [link] [comments]

Mi Band 3 - Notifications - Messages (SMS Text) not appearing or displayed Posted: 29 Jun 2018 12:12 PM PDT If enabled notifications within the Mi Fit app but I haven't seen any appearing from messages when sms texts are delivered. I've been through the list and I think I enabled that from the list of apps. [link] [comments] |
