Any ETA for official LOS 15.1 on the A1?

    Posted: 02 May 2018 03:38 PM PDT

Hey guys, I know one shouldn't ask for eta's on the lineage subreddit, so I'll ask here if anyone as any info on this. The official LOS 15.1 for Mi Mix 2 was released today, but nothing points to an official release for the A1 soon.

Does anyone have a good explanation for this? Thanks!

Bought the Redmi 5 Plus Global Version and got the Latin America version, I have a few questions

    Posted: 02 May 2018 03:14 PM PDT

Is there any easy way to get to the English version?

Will the updates be in Spanish?

Will I get fewer updates and such, or do the updates go to all the Global Version phones regardless of what region it's from?

    Thanks!

Thinking of buying a Mi A1 soon, thoughts?

    Posted: 02 May 2018 12:54 PM PDT

    So yeah, thread title.

I live in the Philippines, been looking to upgrade from my old Android One phone (MediaTek MT6582, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage) to this. However, I'm also considering the Nokia 6 (2018) since it has a newer SoC and same Android One capability. It hasn't been released yet, but I'm buying this new phone in two months.

For $200, will I still be satisfied with a Mi A1? I'm not particularly fussy with the camera, I just want a phone that runs well for daily Facebook/YouTube/Twitter/Reddit activity as well as be powerful enough to run certain emulators (DraStic and PPSSPP being the heaviest of them). Good battery life is a bonus.

    Mi A1 Wifi issues

    Posted: 02 May 2018 10:40 AM PDT

Since yesterday my Mi A1 started being very slow while navigating on wifi (no problems on LTE), I checked my pc and ps4 (one connected by ethernet and the other on wifi) and they both work fine

While trying to do a speedtest with the smartphone it always takes a while to find both the provider and the server, and once the speedtest starts it gives me something like 1600 ping, 800 jitter, 6,50 Mb/s in DL (this is fine) and 0,01 in UL...

A speedtest with the ps4 gives however way better results everywhere except in DL

How can I fix my Mi A1? I tried to check for malwares, removed and re-added the wifi's password and restarted the smartphone multiple times but it didn't work :/

Worth buying the Mi Band 2?

    Posted: 02 May 2018 05:26 AM PDT

    Hi there folks

I would like to buy a smartwatch/smartband(?) and I've been lookin at the Mi Band 2 because it has de features that i want, expecially the clock, calls, messages, notifications and alarms.

But im not a sports guy, so im wondering if it's worth buying the Mi Band just for those features, or should i look at other equipment that would suit me better?

mi A1 in coma after the latest fastboot ROM updated

    Posted: 02 May 2018 09:59 AM PDT

Ok, I am trying to explain this in as much detail as possible so you can understand my problem and hopefully one of you probably has a solution.

First of all, I said in coma in title because it is not dead but bricked and I can revive it by using test point short method (if you don't know this method then you are a lucky one, if you are curious you can google about it) It is basically a way to take your phone into EDL mode so that we can flash stock roms from miflash tool).

Second of all, I said I can revive it because after flashing the "new" updated fastboot image, which I downloaded from this website, the phone kept vibrating every second. No display, I can't go to recovery and bootloader (stock) and buttons combo useless. Basically in a coma. So I used the test point short method to revive it (put it to EDL mode), get it detected on mi flash tool and flashed the stock "tissot_images_7.8.23_20170823.0000.00_7.1_61cf97d794" ROM. This effectively gets me to fastboot screen but the ROM itself does not boot.

Why I mentioned that specific ROM is because every other fastboot ROM just puts the phone into coma. Only that mentioned ROM allows me to get to fastboot (by pressing button combo). Again, the ROM itself does not start or boot to system. It gives me "Your phone has been destroyed, press power to turn off the phone" message by default. Only by using button combo I can get to fastboot.

But first, I must explain why I used the flashing method given in this website to update the ROM. Reason is simple, because it was not receiving any OTA updates. The phone was bought in Hong Kong and it had Android N with January patch. I don't even know if it had a legit ROM in the first place. A friend gave that phone to me as a gift.

So anyway, I have tried almost all official fastboot ROMs I can find on XDA, only that particular ROM gets me to fastboot. All other fastboot ROMs give me that dead coma vibrating thing and I have to do the test point short method to put it to EDL again and again to try different ROMs.

I also tried to flash custom TWRP recovery (from XDA) and some custom official ROMs but every time I flash a new ROM it gets me nowhere and back to square one.

So any of you facing the same issue? Do you know a solution to this problem?

I hope I was able to explain my problem here. If you have any questions about it please feel free to ask.

P.S. Yes, I took the phone to service center but since the phone was purchased in Hong Kong, they said that warranty don't apply here (I am in another country) and they suggested me to change the motherboard of the phone, which cost almost same as buying the new one. lol

I have searched far and wide for the solution of this problem and there are some tutorials on how to get out of my situation, but as I said, I have tried flashing almost all Nougat and Oreo stock fastboot ROMs and all of them gave me the same result except for that one ROM I mentioned above.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you for reading!

Mi Notebook Air speakers will only work when the computer is restarted

    Posted: 02 May 2018 09:35 AM PDT

    Dear friends,

Last october, I purchased a Mi Notebook Air 13.3 8GB + 256GB from the GearBest store. The computer is excellent, but I'm facing an issue since my first use:

I turn the computer on, the speakers won't work at all. Then I restart the computer, the speakers start working perfectly.

I want this to stop. I want the speakers to work the first time I turn the computer on, with no need to restart every time. Can you please help me with this?

google camera for xiaomi redmi 5?

How much should I wait for RN5 prices to drop?

    Posted: 02 May 2018 09:00 AM PDT

I'm currently interested on the 6gb Ram Global version which is 220€+20€ EU Shipping.

As usual when a Xiaomi phone releases it takes a while for the prices to drop on more reasonable level.

For me the perfect deal would be 200€+20€ for DHL EU Shipping (AliExpress Sale Prices a couple of months back)

    Edit:Just realized there's no 6gb global

Will it be a global version of 6gb ram?
