Ugh come on when's it the U.S turn to get Oreo on S7???

Oreo Update. Play Store shows all PAID apps are unpaid (have to purchase again). No fix worked for me. HELP

    Posted: 31 May 2018 04:04 AM PDT

I bought a brand new sealed Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. I setup the device for the first time and went straight to updating to Marshmallow which then allowed me to finally update to Oreo. So then I tried to install an app that I already paid for. But it said I didn't pay for it (says $3.99 instead of INSTALL). So I thought that maybe it's from a fishy developer who makes their apps temporary free (P.AG.F.) and pulled the rug from under me. But then I noticed all of my paid apps are UNPAID. So then I decided to go for a legit developer who I was confident is a good developer (Nova Launcher Prime), and even on the Play Store page it said I have to pay money for it even though I already purchased it on my Google account. Even when I click on "Purchased Apps" the apps show as purchased, but as soon as I go to the app's page, it show as unpaid.

So I decided to maybe factory reset the device. Nope. The problem persisted. I checked for an OS update past Android 8.0.0. There was no update. So then I decided to lookup an APK mirror for Google Play Services (using Play Services Info), and I downloaded the correct app for my device (architecture and dpi). I installed the latest version of Play Services. But in Play Services info it shows that my newly installed App is still the old version from 2016. On Play Services Info it says I need to install the 2018 version (obviously I tried to). It didn't do anything.

I am wondering if I got a botched update of Oreo. What do I do? I am out ideas at this point. Man what the heck???

Galaxy Tab S3's Oreo Update Now Dropping (US)

    Posted: 30 May 2018 11:42 PM PDT

Been checking my devices once a day for about the last week now for Oreo, and while updates haven't started for the S7 in the states, my Tab S3's now installing the "Samsung Experience 9.0 w/ Android Oreo" update.

Other Tab S3 owners should be on the lookout for it soon.

    Galaxy S9+ Deleting Pictures

    Posted: 31 May 2018 06:46 AM PDT

Okay so I recently purchased a Galaxy S9+. Had everything set up the only backup are contacts and a couple other things for my Google account everything else is set up straight forward. Google photos backup is disabled and that's about it when it comes to anything else in my phone. I like to run pretty lightweight so a good bit of apps are deleted or disabled so there's no backups and I haven't installed any random optimization programs either. I do have Google backup enabled but only for contacts and a couple other things.

So the issue popped up last night. It was the first time I downloaded anything from chrome browser. I downloaded some pictures for backgrounds for the phone, created a folder called backgrounds in the DCIM and put the pictures there. Fast forward 7 hours I woke up to go to work and they disappeared. I hadn't touched the phone within 20 minutes of me downloading the pictures I put it on my charger and I went to sleep so there was no interaction between me and the phone after downloading the pictures. I downloaded another picture today as a test case to see if it disappears and I also use the built-in optimization from Samsung clicked it to clean up files but it didn't delete that picture so I don't think it is that. That golf from last night is still in that folder but there's no actual files I've also restarted to make sure they weren't hit in and shown all the hidden files but it's still not there as well.

This seems to also be an issue that I've seen and I've searched but a lot of people ask questions on about three major forms that no one had answers. Looks like the questions were all from within the last year on the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S9 series. I also search this Reddit and I'm going to try a couple other reddit's to see if anybody else had the problem but I haven't seen much of anything about.

Is it safe to buy a new samsung s8 from ebay?

    Posted: 31 May 2018 03:13 AM PDT

So I found a bunch of sellers on ebay selling new s8 phones for a lot cheaper than what it costs where I'm from. This for example costs just over 400 euros while its 699 euros where I live.

So will this phone work in the country I live in?

    Is this a scam?

Still have s6, any tips for longevity?

    Posted: 30 May 2018 10:35 PM PDT

Have the s6, was thinking of upgrading to s8 or s9 but it still runs quite smoothly. As some may know, the battery life sucks, would anyone recommend a battery replacement? Also, what can I do about a shitty home button and a not so reliable power button? Thanks for any input

    Default S7 Voicemail app available?

    Posted: 30 May 2018 09:14 PM PDT

I am using an international unlocked (G930L) S7 from Korea on a MVNO (uses TMobile's network).

There is no default Voicemail app installed (the feature might be in one of the korean apps that are preloaded on my phone) - however I cant read korean so I dont know how to use those apps.

My problem is that currently when I get voicemails, there are no voicemail notifications. I have to call in to listen to my voicemail to see if there are any present.

Is there a generic android or samsung voicemail app i can download? Thanks for any help!

Only certain YouTube videos pinch to become full screen on an S9

    Posted: 30 May 2018 03:58 PM PDT

Relatively new to Samsung and I was wondering why certain videos did not pinch to become fullscreen...

    Examples:

    This one does: https://youtu.be/IQO7Cka4CMY

    This one doesn't: https://youtu.be/NAA-7vCA5xc

Could anyone help me with this and tell me why the second one, like many others, does not pinch to become fullscreen? Thanks.

Note 5 Media audio volume dropping/pausing

    Posted: 30 May 2018 03:01 PM PDT

This started happening almost immediately after the last system update. Now, whenever I play media (YouTube, Podcast Addict, Samsung Music Player, or videos in the Gallery), the audio will fluctuate WILDLY from my current volume all the way to basically muted. If I pause, go to the home screen, open the app back up, and resume, it starts back at my volume, and then starts wildly going down, again. This is without fail. It will also randomly pause whatever media I'm viewing or listening to. This happens no matter the output method, either: speaker, headphones, Bluetooth, it happens each way.

I hit up Samsung support, and they had me do the typical reboot, refresh, hold down volume and power, etc. Their next option, of course, is to back up the phone and restore it.

Before I do that, has anyone else experienced this? This is maybe the most disheartening thing that can happen to my phone, as the only thing that keeps me sane is listening to podcasts all day.

Note: the volume setting is not changing, but the actual volume is. Also, I have turned off USB audio routing and adapt sound.

    Galaxy A5 2017 battery

    Posted: 30 May 2018 02:55 PM PDT

I've recently got the A5 and having some issues with the battery live. According to various reviews the A5 has an excellent battery live and can easily last a day even when used more heavily. The problem is I find the battery of my phone draining pretty quickly and I have problems even lasting one day. According to GSam it's using 10% per hour (listening to music via bluetooth over Spotify) and it's also showing a pretty high battery usage by the Android Kernel and Android system. I'm on Oreo. Am I just expecting too much? Given the stellar reviews of the phone's battery I'm pretty disappointed.

    Good afternoon everyone!

A friend of mine just upgraded from a S4 to the J7 and used to have photos of his contacts as shortcuts on his homescreen. Is this something that can be done on the j7? it appears it just shows the letter of their name and a gray background.

Trying to Connect Surface Pro 4 to SD850 Display

    Posted: 30 May 2018 12:36 PM PDT

Hello, I have been trying to connect this Surface Pro 4 to my SD850 display for hours now. I cannot seem to find a way to get it to work. I have used an HDMI to Mini Displayport, Displayport to Mini Displayport, DVI to Mini Displayport, and some others. Everything works perfectly fine on my Surface BOOK, but I cannot get it to work on my Surface Pro 4. If I select anything other than "Only show on 1" (Such as "Duplicate this display, or "Extend these Displays"), it quickly reverts back to "Only show on 1". With the HDMI to Mini Displayport, I have been able to select "Duplicate this display and"Extend these Displays", and it seems like it would work, but nothing shows up on the monitor. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!
