Instagram locked me out of my account and is asking for a photo of my I.D. Posted: 01 May 2018 03:51 PM PDT I've been locked out of my instagram account for being "underage" (I'm 17, the required age is 13) and have tried logging in on multiple devices with no luck. They all redirect to this. I've tried clicking the appeal but it asks for not only my login info but also a photo of an I.D. such as a drivers license or bank statement. This all seems really fishy especially considering how little info I could find elsewhere. If anyone knows what to do in this situation please help me out, thanks [link] [comments] |

Avast has told me I have 2 computer problems, but I need to pay for Avast to fix them for me Posted: 01 May 2018 09:09 AM PDT But it does tell me what they are. How can I resolve these (Win 7 Pro) myself?
I actually have 2 firewalls- the built in windows one (software) and my router also acts as a hardware one [link] [comments] |
Windows 10 only recognizes one monitor at once Posted: 01 May 2018 10:38 PM PDT CPU: Intel i7 4790k (not OCd yet) MoBo: Asus Z97 Gryphon RAM: 2x4GB Kingston HyperX Fury Res DDR3 1600Mhz GPU: PowerColor RedDevil RX 580 So, i just instaed the Fall Creators Update and everything was working fine before that, both monitors were working fine and everything seemed to go fine during the update as well. Afrer updating, i booted up CEMU to see if i had any improvements from the update, i booted Mario Kart 8 just to test since it wasn't working last time i tried. Then the game kinda froze at the loading screen (as it always does) but my 1st display froze and then showed a "No Signal" message, my other monitor, which is actually a 60 inch TV, was displaying signal normally. I closed CEMU through the task manager and removed my small monitor's DVI cable and plugged it again; nothing, then i removed the HDMI cable from my tv and voila! Signal is back. "At least the monitor isn't dead" I thought, so i plugged the HDMI cable back in and just as i thought, the monitor went black and the "No Signal" message appeared again. At this point i thought the update messed up with my display drivers, i booted up The Witcher 3 to see if i had any anomalies but it ran fine, just like it used to before the update. Still i downloded DDU, rebooted into safe mode and cleaned my GPU's drivers. I then rebooted again and installed new fresh drivers diretcly from AMD's website. After the installation was finished and i rebooted, both monitors were displaying signal during the bios info/windows logo. But as soon as i hit the login screen the small monitor crashed and i was back to square one. Can anyone shed a light on this? I should add that it happens with BOTH displays, if i plug the DVI first and then the HDMI, the DVI display will have no signal and vice versa. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2018 12:30 AM PDT hi, my friend recently got a 970 SSD that has reads and writes 7x that of my cheap SSD. will that make a huge difference in day to day operation or gaming? I can't find a direct comparison anywhere. thank you i have a cheap OCZ ssd [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2018 03:54 AM PDT So I just bought a Logitech Z213 speaker set which comes with a subwoofer but the problem is that they do not work. when I plug in the speakers to the subwoofer and then into the pc there are really soft sounds where you can only hear by putting the speakers literally right next to your ears (like headphones) and the subwoofer itself is also not working. When i plug it into my phone it only makes a decent amount of sound when I set the volume to max and that's without the subwoofer. I really need some help thanks. [link] [comments] |
Why is Windows 10 suddenly displaying a lock screen and sign in prompt after wake-up? Posted: 02 May 2018 03:54 AM PDT And the crucial thing here is that I have no password configured on the system and that it used to normally resume straight back to the desktop. The only change I have made to my system is that I installed a new graphics card. I fail to see how that change would cause this, admittedly quite minor, but still nigglesome behaviour. I have tried disabling lock screen with local group policy and disabling password prompt with netplwiz. The gp worked to get rid of the lock, but I'm still being prompted to click the sign-in button. Ideas? Is this a known bug of the latest W10 update? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2018 03:39 AM PDT So Im thinking about adding an external gpu to my asus g750jm. It has a thunderbolt 2 port. What I was thinking about doing is getting one of those cheap external gpu mounts with an hdmi to pcie cable. My idea here is to also get a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter to connect the external gpu to my pc. Now here is what my connection plan looks like: External gpu adapter -> hdmi cable -> hdmi thunderbolt adapter -> thunderbolt 2 port on my pc. Could this work ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 May 2018 03:28 AM PDT Yesterday it occurred to me that I hadn't checked my SSD's status in quite a while. When I opened the disk checking utility in Ubuntu, I noticed that the "DISK IS LIKELY TO FAIL SOON". I then decided to run an extended self-test on the drive (which came out fine) and then ran Should I assume that my SSD is gonna die soon? Or is this just an unusually high level of wear? What puzzles me is that everything else looks fine (except for the reallocated sector count, which may or may not be oddly high) and I can't pinpoint my finger on why the SSD has used up almost all of its provisional space. Steam keeps kicking everything out of the update queue Posted: 02 May 2018 03:27 AM PDT For no apparent reason whenever I try to update games on steam it just kicks them all out of queue. Instagram deleted and banned account within seconds of it being made Posted: 01 May 2018 07:49 PM PDT OK, I made a new instagram account for a makerspace being started in my town, during the sign up the page timed out and after refreshing and trying again it seemed to work but the second I tried to log in got notified the account was terminated with no reason given. The Gmail account for the space can no longer be used to make an account, even with a different name and the name we tried to make is no longer available. I've tried contacting support on the instagram site but all I got back is that that support email is no longer being monitored. [link] [comments] |
Looking to completely delete all python3 on my macos Sierra Posted: 01 May 2018 11:24 PM PDT I started using python3 in the typical IDLE, but then tried anaconda, which I didn't like, then settled on Pycharm. Then I went back to delete anaconda, and now my python is broken: pip command can't be found, it can't be installed, I can't add libraries, ect. My friend said to install homebrew to use python and that would fix everything and it didn't. So now I'm looking to get rid of all my python3 stuff and start over with the one platform I like. I have no idea how to do this. If I can find the directory with python3.5, can I just delete it and reinstall it later? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 May 2018 03:04 AM PDT Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but let's see. I came home yesterday from a vacation and noticed the TV in the living room was very dim. You could see something on the display if it was very dark in the room and it turns out the backlight has issues. Now my question is: Would watching TV at a very low brightness level affect the LED backlight in any way? My mom usually watches TV at night with a low brightness level for a few hours. Laptop's Intel Graphic driver often crashed and recovered but only when connected or using internet. Posted: 02 May 2018 02:53 AM PDT My laptop seems to freeze then crashed and recover only when I'm connected to the internet. I noticed during those instances, there's high cpu usage. Posted: 02 May 2018 02:48 AM PDT I'm using a laptop that's connected to the internet via WiFi as a network bridge to my desktop through an Ethernet cable. However, it does not work at all and troubleshooting it through the windows network diagnostics tells me that the "Network Bridge" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. Is there anyway I can fix this problem? EDIT: For A short time After I have bridged the connections it will allow me to use google and YouTube but only that. [link] [comments] |

I have Windows 10 Pro on my computer, but I have a license for Windows 10 S. Posted: 02 May 2018 02:36 AM PDT I got a brand new ASUS Netbook today. Got it all setup, went to activate windows and found out that while I'm running Win10 Pro, my device has a Win10 S license. I did some googling, found a Windows 10 S installer and downloaded it. Installed it. Everything went perfectly until the last reboot, when I thought my problem was solved and instead found that Win10 Pro was still my OS. So I tried the installer again. Still Win10 Pro. Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this? [link] [comments] |

Altakho.ru adware... Getting old, driving me nuts. sendhelp it's been over a month ;; Posted: 02 May 2018 02:28 AM PDT Been dealing with adware for about a week now. I've manually deleted some, I've used Malwarebytes, Windows Defender, HitmanPro, AdwRemover (or what ever it's called? Malwarebytes program specifically for adware.) I've also used McAfee All Access Total Protection. Yes I've ran them all in safe mode, I've also ran Windows Defender in offline mode. I've also reset fire fox, deleted and tested every extension/add-on for Firefox, I've manually deleted all sources I've been able to find, I've also purged temp folders, ran a registry cleaner (via ccleaner) and I can't even remember what else. The Adware is 90% gone, but I have one that opens a new tab in firefox with some random websites every hour or two; even if firefox is not open. I can no longer figure out where the remaining adware is, and none of these programs can find it, either... On top of that, the internet seems oblivious to the existence of this adware, aside from "Greatis Software" and their only suggestion is to download and run their "free removal program" called... "UnHackMe"? lolwhat. Anyway, any suggests, or anything? I'm at a loss at this point. Edit: Grammar mostly. Edit: I think I may have finally fixed it. After taking ALL of the above steps I mentioned, completely uninstall and reinstall firefox (or the effected browser). In my personal situation it takes a few hours for the ads to trigger, so I'm not 100% sure if it's fixed, but as of right now I am considering it solved, for anyone who needs a solution. I will update this if I find out it's not fixed. Edit2: Never mind, it's not fixed. Damn it. .-. Edit4: Bumping again, I've been trying to get read of this monster for over a month, now. I can't seem to do it. Send help. ;; Note that the "edits" are not edits, I've simply been trying to get this dealt with for well over a month, and I've posted in another subreddit, some how never finding this one. I have carpel tunnel in both wrists and im wearing my braces atm, so typing isn't super easy, so I figured it'd be easier to just copy+paste, and explain that those edits were just updates to the original post, and not actual edits. Any edits below here are actual edits. Thank you if anyone has any kind of suggestion. I've literally gotten to a point where the adware is just part of my every day life and I barely even think about it anymore, which is kind of absurd. Send help. ;; I doubt this matters but it's in the rules so here you go: I have windows 10 64bit, an intel pentium g4600 (yes that's the correct model number), a GTX 1050ti, and 8GB DDR4 of RAM. Edit: Oh, one thing of note, I actually just switched to the Vivaldi web browser and completely removed firefox, and I'm still getting the same thing; it just opens in the new browser, now. I feel like I should also mention there are no related entries in regedit, nothing comes up in scheduled tasks, and there's also no entry for start up, either. [link] [comments] |
CPU stuck at low clock speeds. Computer does not turn off completely. Posted: 01 May 2018 10:39 PM PDT Not sure if these two are related or separate symptoms. I've recently built a new rig. 1) It seems like if left idle (not definitive) the clock speed will ramp down to 0.89Ghz or 1.0Ghz and stick even on load (Prime95, gaming). The only way to fix it is to reset my computer. 2) When shutting down, Windows will turn off but my system will not. All fans and lights remains spinning. I need to hold the power button to fix. Noticed if I reset my computer and quickly shut down. It works normally. FYI resetting works normally. On Sleep mode, windows enters sleep state but system does not and stays running. Does not resume. Tried:
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I'm beginning to suspect a hardware issue with the PSU, motherboard, and a highly unlikely CPU... RAM was just replaced but could be suspect. Is it possible to perform an ATA secure erase on a Surface Pro 4? Posted: 01 May 2018 10:37 PM PDT I may be giving away my Surface Pro 4 soon and I want to ensure that I don't give away my data with it. I understand that it is difficult to completely wipe an SSD with wiping software designed for hard drives, and that doing so is bad for it anyway. However, I heard that you can use the "ATA secure erase" command to permanently erase all data without damaging the drive itself. Is this possible on a Surface Pro 4? If so, how do I perform this and is the procedure different for the other surfaces? [link] [comments] |
USB hub stopping computer from booting. Posted: 02 May 2018 02:13 AM PDT I've been having a weird problem where my machine won't boot if my powered USB 3 hub is plugged in, it just power cycles over and over never booting, it doesn't even get as far as the bios. If I unplug the power adapter for the USB hub from the wall it boots. Thought my power supply had died, it took me a while to figure out what was going on. [link] [comments] |
Ethernet Issues (Please Help!) Posted: 01 May 2018 08:14 PM PDT Hello I am going to be honest I do not know if this is the right place for me to seek help but I thought i'd give it a shot, I use TP Link boxes that pair with eachother (one connected to my router and the other to my pc) these boxes just plug into the wall and then I run an ethernet to my pc and router, I have been using these since November 2017 and today I got home to find the box I have in my room for my PC is not detecting the ethernet I have plugged in so I have no wifi. The box connected to the router has no issue. So I have tried switching the ethernet cords in which didn't change anything the box in my room to my pc still dosent detect anything and the box going to my router works fine. So then I tried to switch out the boxes in which also changed nothing, I have also changed outlets in which the box in my room is in and it did nothing. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated as I use my pc everyday and need it for school. This is the TP Link I use: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tp-Link-TL-PA4010KIT-AV500-Nano-Powerline-Ethernet-Adapter-Starter-Kit/23148890?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228017001917&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=40881977792&wl4=pla-78812169512&wl5=9028058&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=23148890&wl13=&veh=sem (I bought mine off amazon if that matters at all lol) [link] [comments] |
