| Samsung "Turning Down" Exynos S9 Posted: 03 Mar 2018 12:55 AM PST So apparently Samsung have said they plan to turn down the performance off their Exynos chip in their S9 to fall more in line with the Snapdragon variant in the US. What are people thoughts on this? For me I live in Australia, and if they do this, I may just not even bother getting one... | Gear Icon X (2018) Pauses In Sunlight Posted: 02 Mar 2018 09:49 PM PST So as it weird as it sounds my GIX18 pause in direct sunlight when the right ear bud is exposed. I was walking between tall buildings and I walked into the street (direct sunlight) and it pauses. I pressed play. It pauses again instantly. | [Discussion/Help] Oxygen Saturation Sensor: S9 vs S9+ Posted: 02 Mar 2018 08:07 PM PST So, I was looking and I don't usually go for the flashier versions of the... well, anything, but I think that I might actually want the S9+ this time around. My only drawback is that the Oxygen Saturation Sensor is not listed for the S9+, yet it is for the S9. Imgur Link to Side-by-Side Specs
Does anyone know if this is something that was a typo, or something that they overlooked as a feature? I tried to talk to the best buy reps, and I also looked at the physical phones they had out on display - but they were locked to demo mode only and there was no way to test it out. I've also tunneled my way through the internet trying to find specs on different sites.
It seems odd, especially considering the rumors about the accessory-less "blood pressure" monitor that's supposed to be included (I have my doubts about that one. Not sure how you'd get a systolic/diastolic reading without some external pressure device or an invasive line cough off-topic)
I know this is such an insignificant feature to some, but it does matter to me in some instances. I've grown attached to the one I have on my old S6 Active. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Sending back an old phone to Samsung for trade in program Posted: 02 Mar 2018 11:13 PM PST So I decided to preorder the S9+ and I am planning to send my old one back. Here is the thing though, the phone is running Linage OS and there is a small crack just below the screen so the screen is working but there is a small crack near the bottom. How likely it is for them to not accept it and give me $25 discount instead of $50? Another thing is I have an old, very old Nokia N900 , its still considered a smartphone right? Would it be better if I send that one instead? Doesn't have any defects other than being old. Last option is my brother's Nexus 6 that is in good condition but is running Lineage OS as well. Posted: 02 Mar 2018 10:25 AM PST I was all ready to get the S9+ because of the better camera and larger battery, but coming from my S7 the S9 felt like the perfect one-hand size after trying them out at best buy, but the security devices on the back give a false feel of the phone. If you switched from an S7 to a larger phone like the S8+ did you get used to it or do you find times where you feel like you are holding a tablet and it's annoying (like fitting into pocket). I've immediately turned it off and dried it with drying paper and the phone is almost perfectly responsive. The touch works, the camera works, the micro USB connector works.. the problem is the audio: it has massively lowered. It works, but it isn't nearly as loud as before. How should I operate?
