Swype for Android discontinued Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:57 AM PST I emailed Nuance support regarding Swype crashing on my Pixel 2 8.1 after a reboot, and was asked to provide more info & screen recording. After doing so, they responded with this: "However, we are sad to announce that Swype+Dragon for Android has faced end of development. Here is a statement from Swype Product Team: Nuance will no longer be updating the Swype+Dragon keyboard for Android. We're sorry to leave the direct-to-consumer keyboard business, but this change is necessary to allow us to concentrate on developing our AI solutions for sale directly to businesses. We hope you enjoyed using Swype, we sure enjoyed working with the Swype community." Does anyone know a swiping keyboard which has swipe to copy/paste like Swype? Gboard just doesn't cut it for me. Edit: confirmed on xda https://www.xda-developers.com/swype-keyboard-android-dragon-dictation-discontinued/ Thanks @Reevos [link] [comments]

[APP] I made an app that fixes a major annoyance of modded Google Camera Posted: 19 Feb 2018 05:40 AM PST I love taking portrait photos on Google Camera app. But non-Pixel users like me can only use the modded version of Google Camera and one major annoyance is that it takes portrait photos only in burst mode. You then need to open gallery, find the sub-folder which it created for burst mode, copy the portrait image and delete the rest. And you have to do this every time you take a portrait photo. With GCam Tool, all this happens in the background. After you take a photo with Google Camera, you will find it in your camera roll when you open Gallery. You can:
By default the app copies photos to your photo gallery. If you buy the $1 upgrade, it also deletes the files and sub-folders (thereby actually moving the photos instead of copying). Your upgrade will help an indie developer like me survive. Please spread the word and let me know your thoughts. [link] [comments]
