Which means I can take my 60gb MAME rom collection on my computer, tell Windows "share these files", then tell Android (using this app) "mount this shared directory as /roms" and have access to all 60GB from my phone, even from away if I use my VPN. Also it will allow me to use SMBv3 in programs that don't support it, like Solid Explorer. It's a free app, something like Titanium Backup should be able to extract an APK, would any of you be so kind as to get me an APK of this? [link] [comments]  |
| Wired headset activating Google Assistant instead of controlling music playback Posted: 03 Jan 2018 09:45 PM PST Hi everyone! My Xiaomi Mi A1 has a problem recognizing wired headset controls. My headset buttons activates Google Assistant instead of controlling music playback or accepting calls. When I plug in my headset (JBL T110) to my phone and press the button once, Google assistant pops up as if the button was pressed and held (which I didn't). If I exit from it, the button does not work anymore. I tried downloading apps that control the headphone buttons and mic but still does not solve the problem. I tried using KeyTest app to check how my phone recognizes the button click. It appears that even if I only press the button once, my phone thinks that the button is pressed and held (like it is latched). That's why any other button presses after that does not work anymore. I also tried another headset with 3 buttons (vol +/-, pause/play/voice command). The buttons only work once when the headset is plugged in and they all have the same behavior. When I press the top button (vol+), the volume goes from its current level to max. For the middle button, Google voice appears. The bottom button (vol-), the volume goes from current position to minimum. It seems that when I press each of the buttons, my phone thinks that I'm holding down the buttons. One time it showed that battery was charged to 103% and recently it was 101%. It just graphical glitch or not? Well of course sometimes my phone shuts off when I'm just and sometimes even when I just removed from charger but it only shuts when I'm using. It's shut off more often when using mobile data than using wi-fi. My phone model is Archos 50f Helium. [link] [comments]  |

| Decrypting adopted storage sd card Posted: 03 Jan 2018 07:28 PM PST Hello, I had to turn in my Moto G5 Plus because the power button became stuck and the phone was in a boot load loop They fixed it in no time but because of some "customer data protection policy" they factory reset my phone just after I gave it to the official tech support. Now the problem is obvious, the phone won't recognize the SD card without formatting it. I've read that rooting the device I could find the encryption key and recover my files on a Linux PC but the question is, will the factory reset phone still have the encryption key in it? And each time I do, a ton of memory is cleared. After maybe 2 weeks it goes up to over 1GB, and I'm just wondering where that comes from. I don't download that much stuff at all, but have earlier downloaded some music and videos from what I suppose is shadier websites. Could I have gotten a virus of some sort, or is this normal? Just tell me if this is completely retarded, I don't know much about such stuff, but would be grateful if someone who does could answer this :) [link] [comments]  |
| Android help with storage space Posted: 03 Jan 2018 07:22 PM PST My internal storage is showing as full at 16 GB but I checked in the storage folders and it's not full. Apps are only using 7 GB, 1 GB other and the rest of the space is shown as free. My SD card has 50GB free and is formatted as internal storage but for some reason I can't ever use any of the space on the SD and my phone is always having issues with storage regarding the internal storage which is showing as full. I've had this issue for awhile now but am currently in the process of trying to transfer some files and am not able to do so because of notifications popping up showing that SMS etc is disabled due to low storage space. Quite confused as Internal storage should have about 8GB free and my microSD which is formatted as internal storage which never seems to be able to be used also has about 50GB free space. Just handling my phone, I always accidently hit some app, before setting it down or putting in my pocket. I would quick lock it, but I don't want to have to unlock it. Sometimes Im just putting it away for a second. I checked online for a resolution and check around in settings, but to no avail. | Media volume and Bluetooth, what exactly is going on here? Posted: 03 Jan 2018 06:51 PM PST Phone is Kyocera Duraforce, running v7.1.2 on verizon, but i have noted the same behavior on older phones. I am trying to set up some tasker tasks which set media volume based on what bluetooth device i'm connected and i've noticed some inconsistent behavior that i think is negatively affecting my tasks. What seems to be the optimal behavior- when i push volume up/down buttons on the bluetooth device, it brings up the "media voulme" dialogue slider on my phone and adjusts it accordingly. if i want my music to be as loud as possible, i can raise the volume on the device OR my phone and the volume will go to max. Other times, seemingly randomly, pushing the volume up/down buttons on the device will adjust the volume of the music on the device itself, without doing anything with the phone. so if i want max volume i have to turn up the volume on the device AND the media volume slider on the phone. the behavior persists throughout each connected session. if i break the Bluetooth connection and reconnect, it might work properly or it might not. This inconsistency is wreaking havoc with the tasker profiles i'm trying to build. The behavior is random over a variety of devices. | Issue with new phone and bluetooth earbuds Posted: 03 Jan 2018 02:24 PM PST So i recently purchased the Razer phone and so far I've been very happy with it. The only issue is with compatability with my fully wireless earbuds (skybuds). My other Bluetooth headphones work great with my razer phone, but my fully wireless buds sound awful, despite working perfectly on my old iPhone. The audio is slowed and pitched down as well as being distorted and crackly. It's just awful. I connected them to my old iPhone and they still work so I guess it's something sort of compatability issue. I've tried a bunch of stuff and nothing's working. Hopefully it's just a matter of an update from razer. But seeing how there's no headphone jack I kinda need Bluetooth to work. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 03 Jan 2018 05:53 PM PST I know this is trivial, but it's so annoying. My "send" and "message status" icons have gotten smaller by about half. What I mean is the right-pointing triangle to send a message is about half the size, and the little circle with either one or two ticks in it depending on status has also halved in size. I have fat fingers and I was already pressing the wrong things now I have to be even more careful. Also I liked the larger status icon. I thought it was an update but the last update was on 12th December. Here is a screenshot from 31st of December: allobig and Here is one from today: allosmall Look specifically at the delivered icon. Posted: 03 Jan 2018 05:20 PM PST I have a note pro 12.2 with I think 3gb of ram {which in its day was considered plenty} I first noticed a slow down after playing with some settings that was supposed to increase speed using an app that required root. I have since upgraded OS ota however I'm unsure if anything gets reset at s lower level since it seemed to keep my apps and settings when I did that. Anyhow for a long time now I've suffered with a tablet full of long pauses. Even things like switching apps taking frustratingly long. I was very close to buying a new tablet even though that would mean the loss of spen functionality, which is something very useful to me but unfortunately Samsung seems not to make large tablets with those anymore. Then recently I downloaded some app.i think it was called The Cleaner. And ran it but didn't run anything. I mean I opened it but it looked like standard kill apps, clean storage functionality. The ads were annoying so I just just removed it. However it has good comments about performance improvements and a high rating. I was wondering if possibly this is was fixed my tablet because ever since it basically "flies" I have another theory that since my main storage was full of apps and I did a major multi app uninstall, somehow this allows Android to use more swap space?? So if anyone has ever noticed that their storage was full and coincidentally their device was slow and speed was restored after uninstalling several apps.. please let me know. | How to prove a phone is recording? Posted: 03 Jan 2018 03:19 PM PST First off, this is on an Android S7 Edge, and I'm using a throwaway for reasons soon to be obvious. So my father is abusive, blah blah blah, and I moved in with my mom to get away. But my brother still lives with my dad and visits me and my mom sometimes. Recently, my brother got a new phone. Since then my dad has been emailing us things that he would seemingly have no way of knowing (private conversations about where I'll be staying on a weekend, small conversations between me and my brother, etc.). My dad has a history of using apps to watch my phone when I lived with him, as well as my old computer, so there is reason to suspect him recording conversations. What tipped us off to my brothers phone specifically is that it is draining battery, won't turn off, and the LED at the top is blinking blue (I read that that means it is recording). I'm looking for what to do to get undeniable proof that this is happening, so that way we can put an end to it (legally as well). Thank you. | Posted: 03 Jan 2018 03:13 PM PST I have my Xperia Z5 on do not disturb and mobile data/wi-fi off while I sleep. Usually this only results in 0-1% battery drain when I wake up. This morning I had 40% battery drain. I have noticed the battery decreasing at an absurd rate the last couple of days. I used to have the phone charging a lot of the time, but I've only had this phone a couple months, so I assume it shouldn't have that much effect on the battery by this point. I went into my battery use settings and an app called 'Media' had used 50% of the battery and I could not view any information on it. I usually do not have any apps open. Edit: I think somehow I am still receiving app notifications and emails while having data turned off. This may mean that somehow my phone is still connected to the internet even though I have everything turned off. [link] [comments]  |
