    Android pay Justice League figures

    Posted: 08 Jan 2018 09:48 AM PST

Just got these in the post, I used Android Pay in the UK over December, every time you paid you got a character in the app. It didn't say what for, last week or so I got an email saying I could claim a figure set so I filled in the form. https://imgur.com/0KgtWpI

Edit: there was no clue during the promotion that there was anything like this to gain, I just use Android Pay a lot as it's easier than cash for small purchases.

I got an email on 27th December with a redemption code and a link to a form with a deadline of 2nd Jan.

Is the ROM community and devs on XDA pissing anyone else off?

    Posted: 08 Jan 2018 08:09 AM PST

So I thought ROM development had basically ceased for the G5 Plus, until I stumbled upon someone mentioning all but maybe 1 or 2 devs starting only posting updates on Telegram. No mention of it on any OP's for the ROMs, no updates to the OP's for the ROMs in months; yet ~75 pages in the Lineage thread, I find someone mentioned it and sure enough, there's ROM after ROM, updated and posted in Telegram.

The threads on XDA? All outdated, versions 2 and 3+ months old, yet a 2 week old version is posted on Telegram. Which by the way, has an incredibly shitty format, much like Twitter. No ROM info, no change logs, all the ROMs grouped together in one thread. Complete disorganization. On top of it all, I find out that 2 devs banned everyone who didn't have a profile pic from Telegram. And when they actually were posting updates in XDA, asking them for the simple courtesy of updating the thread title so we know the ROM has been updated would result in them blowing up on us and complaining about how we are ungrateful and they work their asses off for nothing.

Developers, we are grateful. Most of us thank you repeatedly for taking the time and effort for what you do. Many of us actually pay you in the form of donations. We appreciate your hard work and use your ROMs as can be evidenced by how many downloads and installs they have. But moving the entire community to an app only, member only service such as Telegram, and not even updating the OP to tell people where to find it, which is a clusterfuck of disorganization is not helping spread the word of your work. I don't know if this is happening on any other devices, but this bullshit has seriously put me off on custom ROMs.

This is not what custom development is supposed to be about. It's become your version of closed source. I get that you guys are sick of people asking stupid questions and clogging the threads, but how about you just turn off XDA notifications, and ignore it all except for updating the thread? That's really all I ask. I mean you are already ignoring everyone by only posting updates on a format that no one can comment on, so why not do it on XDA so people can at least find the goddamn download?

For the Devs that didn't abandon their entire user base, THANK YOU and keep up the hard work, we all appreciate it immensely.
