Posted: 26 Nov 2017 10:44 AM PST Hey, is there any VPN that would work with netflix? I wanna see the US content from a country in Europe but all the free ones don't work - Netflix gives some kind of used proxy error. I am willing to pay for a VPN service as long as I am sure that it works. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Outlook and LinkedIn apps suddenly appeared and I can't uninstall them Posted: 26 Nov 2017 06:19 PM PST I'm a Moto G5S user, currently on Android 7.1.1. Suddenly, those both apps appeared and they don't let me uninstall them. Any help?? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Colours on phone are undersaturated and washed out Posted: 26 Nov 2017 05:57 PM PST I woke up this morning and the colours on my Galaxy S5 Neo were all grey and washed out. Blues look especially grey. Is there some setting I may have accidentally hit last night? Has anyone else had this issue that knows how to fix it? [link] [comments] |
Is there a cell phone/apps for people who are developmentally delayed? Posted: 26 Nov 2017 02:39 PM PST My sister is developmentally delayed and my mother would like to get her a cell phone for Christmas. Is there any such phones that exists or would be appropriate? I'm in Canada. My sister is pretty good at navigating her laptop (especially YouTube) and can send about 5 word emails eg:
Which roughly translates to:
Also, if there is an app that can create a keyboard with preset words, I think that would probably work really well for her too. If anyone knows another place on Reddit to get more info I would love to informed. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Nov 2017 02:03 PM PST Hey, if I were to put a custom boot animation on my s5 how would it work? Would it stop mid-play if the phone booted? Will it play until it ends or will it play faster to end in time? Also, which is your favorite boot animation? [link] [comments] |
None of my music apps show "The" on the album title, and it's not a tag mistake. Posted: 26 Nov 2017 04:23 PM PST Is there anyway to correct this? Example: https://imgur.com/gallery/qoCBX [link] [comments] |
I can't connect to my wifi using my phone but it's working on every other device Posted: 26 Nov 2017 11:28 AM PST 5-6 months ago I had this problem with my phone (Ulefone Power with stock Android 6) where I can't connect to my wifi router (Unitymedia connect box). The only solution was to restart the router which would sometimes work for a week and sometimes for 20 minutes. When I type in my password it just says "saved" and when I try to connect it says "WIFI connection failure" (I'm not 100% sure if the translation is correct; my settings are in German. If you happen to speak German it says "WLAN Verbindungsfehler") The wifi is working fine on my computer, my girlfriend's phone and her computer etc. I have tried basically everything but nothing worked. Around one month after I gave up it just fixed itself. I changed nothing at all. One week ago my phone was factory reset by accident and the problem is back. Same thing as it was before. This time I'm going to ask for help. Things I've tried this time:
These are the major things I've tried. But since I get frustrated really fast I'll ask you guys this time. ALSO: when I change the language it seems to have the same effect as restarting the router. It works, but only temporarily (On a side note: when I change my language it opens the armorfly browser for some reason. Anyone else with this?) Thanks for your time. [link] [comments] |
Chatty Wifi - How to ID the culprit Posted: 26 Nov 2017 10:16 PM PST Whenever my wifi is connected on my T-Mo LG G6, the icon in the status bar seems to indicate it is almost constantly transmitting and receiving data and my battery drains quickly. I went into settings to look at the list of apps that have been prime drains on my battery but didn't seem to see anything surprising or out of the ordinary there. Does anyone know of an app that shows me details on which apps are using my wifi in real time? I'd love to be able to open an app and see a list where services that are using wifi at any given moment appear and disappear from a list. [link] [comments] |
How do I buy apps without having an Android device? Posted: 26 Nov 2017 10:04 PM PST For example, on the Apple side of things, I could get iTunes(desktop version), log in to my account, and get apps from the App Store built into iTunes(at least if you aren't using the new iTunes). And then it'll get added to your account. And then if I were to get an iPhone, I could download all those apps I bought. Hopefully this isn't a dumb/easy question. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Nov 2017 08:48 AM PST I'm sorry if this is controversial. Hopefully people are mature enough to accept it's just a music platform and nothing more. I'm a former Android snob and Google Play user but I'm currently using an iPhone 7 but looking to pick up another Android Phone very soon (leaning toward Essential based on specs vs price). I've since made the switch to Apple Music simply because it acts as the default music player so when I plug my phone into my car everything works flawlessly (Google Play + Spotify not so much) My question is basically if anyone here uses Apple Music on their Android Phone? And if so, how's the experience? Pros and cons? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Getting Samsung's 'Edge Notification' feature on Google Pixel 2/XL Posted: 26 Nov 2017 09:43 PM PST This is what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV10N832oe8 Is there an APK we can install to get this or will it be necessary to root and use Magisk or something like that to get this ability. My wife's phone does this and I love that - cool way to show notifications in my opinion. [link] [comments] |

Galaxy edge 8+ flips photos in apps Posted: 26 Nov 2017 09:16 PM PST My wife and I bought galaxy phones a couple of months ago and we are both plagued with the same problem. If you take a picture with the phone holding it landscape with the volume buttons up like a normal camera, the picture snaps correctly. But when it's attached in an app, it is flipped upside down. Browsing through an app to find the picture displays it correctly, it only flips when you attach it to an sms or something. If I do the same thing but hold the phone like a phone and tap the screen to take a picture, the image them appears sideways in the exact same manner. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I just came over from Windows phone and this thing is almost unusable as someone who sends loads of pictures. I have to tell people to rotation lock their phones and flip it over to see my pictures. Please help! [link] [comments] |

Since Virgin Mobile is doing away with Android, I'm looking for a new service provider Posted: 26 Nov 2017 06:58 PM PST I recently found out that Virgin Mobile is going iPhone only in 2018. I don't want to support Virgin Mobile anymore, so I'm looking into other service providers that aren't too much more expensive. I'm paying $35 a month plus tax for umlimited talk, text, and 2.5 gigs of 4G/LTE data, getting limited to 3G after I reach that limit. I also currently have a Samsung Galaxy J7 under Virgin. What are some other service providers that provide good service to Android phones, for around this price? [link] [comments] |
Nokia Lumia 2520 replace the OS Posted: 26 Nov 2017 06:29 PM PST Hey, i was wondering if anyone knew if it was possilbe to install an android OS onto my tablet. It has perfectly fine hardware but since Windows RT support dropped off it has turned into a pain. It seems a shame to have to get ride of perfectly fine hardware. The Lumia 2520 uses a quad-core, 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system-on-chip with 2 GB of RAM It runs ARM architecture rather than x86. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Battery heat/damage from quick charging? Posted: 26 Nov 2017 06:12 PM PST I was told that with new phones you slowly degrade/damage the battery by the heat from quick chargers, is that still the case? [link] [comments] |
Nearly half of my storage is free...yet I cannot install/update apps due to lack of space. Posted: 26 Nov 2017 06:08 PM PST Here is the status of my root and SD Card storage. Both nearly 50% free: https://imgur.com/a/uwjOB Yet, this has been happening: https://imgur.com/a/nwOlH I am running Lineage OS (Surnia) on Moto E LTE version (2nd gen). Any tips? [link] [comments] |
Good version of Android for a Nexus 7 2013? Posted: 26 Nov 2017 06:05 PM PST Hey. I just pulled an old Nexus 7 out of my closet, and I'm wondering if there are any modern Android builds that will run well on such an old device. I remember the last version of stock Android that updated onto it a few years ago ran slowly and crashed a lot. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Nov 2017 05:51 PM PST I'm having some problems with the current one that I'm using. Some files get deleted all of a sudden (for example on my songs folder, the file is still there but it says the size of the song file is 0.0 mb. And no, the files aren't hidden). And some photos on my SD card suddenly disappeared months ago. And recently, earlier this morning my phone says my SD Card is damaged. But after switching the phone on/off, the SD card is fine again. I just hate it that some songs that I listen to and some of my important files suddenly disappear without me knowing. The phone that I'm using is my flair for the curious. Thanks in advance! Anyone still own a note 4? Hows it holding up? Is performance still good? Posted: 26 Nov 2017 05:32 PM PST I need a replacement for my phone but I'm tight on cash. I noticed note 4s are going for really cheap right now. If it still performs well and won't freeze up on me I'll probably buy one. I know that there are other phones like the nexus 6 around the same price range but I would prefer a removable battery and expandable storage. Plus I like the look of the note a lot better. Youtube sort by most popular not available on Android? Posted: 26 Nov 2017 04:57 PM PST I just got back to android this week from having an iPhone for a little over a year. On my ios youtube app I could sort videos on channels by upload date and most views. This feature led me to find a lot of new channels to subscribe to. It seems the android version of the app is missing this feature. What's up with that? How do I get that functionality back? [link] [comments] |
Anyone been caught tethering with PDAnet? Posted: 26 Nov 2017 10:52 AM PST Due to issues with my home I'm having to live on my parent's farm for a month. We are entirely out of the service range for internet but I have Unlimited Straight talk plan with Verizon Sim and an unlocked phone. I wasn't aware of ST's TOS saying they ban tethering (and youtube apparently). For 2 days I was using around 600mb for tethering daily. Last night I got the full version of PDAnet. I plan on having my pc and phone tethered for around 2 weeks and use around 600mb daily. Also I noticed my phone doesn't have any APN settings. There's nothing there in the APN menu. Could that be why they didn't instantly ban me like I've read they've done to others? Chances of me making it through 2 weeks? [link] [comments] |
