My sons dad took his own life a few months ago and I just got to a point that I could bring myself to clean the dried blood out of his phones charging port to charge it and turn it on. I genuinely wouldn't wish that experience on my worst enemy. However, I've now been meet with a lock screen that I have no idea how to get past. I have no clue what his lock pattern might be. I'm really hoping someone here might be able to tell me how to get past it WITHOUT reseting the phone, obviously keeping all data intact is of utmost importance. So "right-clicking" rarely takes on Galaxy Note 10+ or Xperia 1III, my two last phones. I have to wait, realize it's not taking, lift up my finger, breathe in, place it again and hope it's not going to register too much movement again. | App keeps creating blank notifications. What's causing this? Posted: 30 Apr 2022 02:42 AM PDT Several apps have had s tendency to spam multiple empty notifications at the same time. If I expand the notification, it is completely empty, while tapping or does absolutely nothing. Clearing the notification only causes it to return after a short while. These can be apps I barely use, like the one in this image. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S21 running Android 12, with all apps updated. [link] [comments] |

| Backing up text messages from phone with a broken "charging port" (please read) Posted: 29 Apr 2022 07:41 PM PDT Recently my father passed away and I would like to backup all of our text conversations. I have found some solutions online (that have worked in the past), however my charging port is broken so I cannot plug it into a computer. Is there any way to "backup" a copy of the messages? I do not care the format, CSV, plaintext, pdf - whatever - I just would like some record of them to look over in the future. At this point, I am going to resort to taking screenshots, which is incredibly tedious and difficult to keep organized (we're talking years of messages). I really hope I do not need to go down this path, but if I have to, I will. I attempted to gain wifi ADB, however from what I understand this requires you to first plug the device in. This device does not have root. Its a pixel 3 on its last legs. Please help me. [link] [comments] |

Photos: Portrait Landscape Edit home screen mode Current settings It looked fine up until a couple weeks ago. I've been using it in landscape mode since it started doing this because at least that way all the icons aren't overlapping each other, but the dock should still stretch across the whole bottom. Posted: 29 Apr 2022 01:54 PM PDT Please tell me how to find a photo I've saved from Messages app. 1) I save a photo from a text in Messages app 2) "Saved to your Messages Stored Media" (the message Android gives me when I save the photo). 3) I open an email, use the Attach - I select "Attach File" (as opposed to "My Drive") and I'm taken to Recent files, which does show all my pictures from camera - but not pictures saved from Messages. I've browsed around and simply cannot find that saved photo. I can't find it using the available locations seen in the screenshot that I wasn't allowed to add to this post. (Images, Videos, Audio, Recent, Downloads, Drive) I'm sure I'm being a dummy, so if someone could tell me what's up here? [link] [comments] |
| Why does my android settings keep crashing Posted: 29 Apr 2022 07:14 PM PDT So recently my android settings keep crashing everytime I try opening it, and I've googled everything I can Google and nothing helps, I tried restarting my phone, and every answer I get says I need to reset to factory settings but the thing is that I need to open "Settings" to do any of that, so I couldn't find any questions or answers about this issue, and idk what else to do because, I can't go online with it because I need settings to access it and I can't factory reset it because I need "Settings" to do that, which doesn't open, I even put my phone on safe mode and it still crashes, so I'm posting on here to hope I can get the answers I need because Google wasn't helpful with this [link] [comments] |

I trough that instead of trowing it away, I might try to repair it, but I can't find where to start. It's a Samsung s7 edge with a split screen. (that's what it looks like when it's working fine: https://imgur.com/a/COxpZ4f) The seller told me that the bottom screen is flashing/flickering only when it's cold. But it's not the only time that it's flashing/flickering. For example, when I'm in a call, the bottom screen is flickering and the top screen is completely black, so I cannot end the call. (As you can see on this gif: https://gfycat.com/inferiortendercat) It also does the same at random times during the day. Sometimes I would receive a call and I would not be able to answer because I see only black and flickering on my screen. So I figured out that if I could just get rid of the split screen, it would solve the problem. But I can't find a way to disable it. Anyone got a clue? [link] [comments] |

I examined the phone charger and determined that it must've been a capacitor that must've popped because of the smell and presence of black residue on the plastic. No biggie, got a different quick charger and went to charge. But now the phone just says "charging slowly". Usually it gives me an estimated charge time of like 1.5-2 hrs but now it's saying that its going to take 8 hours for a single charge. What gives? Did the charger dying cause the battery to also die? Internet said I should restart it because I guess the uptime was too high. Problem is, when I shut it down it was at 60%. When it turned on it was 100% and started draining less quickly. Which is, like, a _lifetime_ in cell phones :) Is there a way to force an app (e.g. Signal) to always use cellular data, never WiFi? It looks like there used to be under "Data Useage" (again all posts >1 year old), but my LG G8 running Android 11 does not have that option. Currently need to do this for Signal because it can't process MMS on WiFi, so conversations and pictures just get stuck (can't send, weird errors receiving them). TIA [link] [comments] |
| Phone Services Draining Battery Posted: 29 Apr 2022 01:18 PM PDT I have a Redmi Note 10 Pro Global version running on MIUI 13.0.4 and android 12. Since the update I have been facing this issue where the phone starts heating up very badly, battery drains very quickly as well like 15-20 percent in a matter of minutes and on top of that I am unable to receive any SMS messages either. Upon investigation I found that the Phone services app consumes most of the battery during this time, it is at version 12 and its APK name is com.android.phone. I have tried factory resetting the phone, changing the sim card clearing cache of these apps but nothing has worked. It occurs randomly for a couple of hours. [link] [comments] |
| Google play rewards surveys not loading. Posted: 29 Apr 2022 12:58 PM PDT For the past two in a half months, I have had around 4 surveys from google play rewards. Not a single one had loaded. I click on the survey, it loads, and then it's just that. The blank white backround. The first two times I thought it was because I did not update it to its latest version, but this time I did. It STILL won't load. I lost at least 40 cents because the screen is just white. Does anyone know hwo to fix this issue? [link] [comments] |
