Do you have a screen protector on your Samsung phone? Why or why not?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 02:03 PM PDT

I just got my sky blue S22 and I love it. I want to protect it, but I wonder if having a screen protector will take away from the phone at all (ie. Touch, aesthetic, graphics). Is it generally overkill?

    What do you think?

Which phone case material should I get to have the best grip?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 03:56 AM PDT

I want a phone case that has the best grip material / is the most non-slip in my hands. So the phone won't slide around in my palm while I'm holding it.

Which phone case material is the best for this?

S22 Ultra delays are not only in the West

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 12:57 AM PDT

I live in Malaysia. I ordered the S22 Ultra on the 3rd of March. I was already notified of the delays and was told that the phone will ship on the 28th of March and I accepted it. Comes 28th and no update from Samsung so I decided to wait 2-3 days more thinking that maybe they are just getting the shipment ready. Nothing after a whole week and contacting support was not helpful as they were pretty much reading off their repeated answers from a script. It's now the 3rd of April and I have had no updates whatsoever on the shipment status.

Got a sweet deal on the phone tho. Came with a free galaxy watch 4 and Lamy safari pen.

Samsung version of Messages with emoji (iMessage) reactions

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 07:04 PM PDT

    https://imgur.com/a/tjXy8NO

I've been waiting forever for the emoji reactions to go live and read other posts about the Samsung version of Messages not having the same features as the standard Google Messages. Without any official word from Samsung or Google I thought this could be correct so I even went as far as installing the standard version over the Samsung version. This made no difference for me so I went back to Samsung version that came with the phone.

This morning the server side switch finally hit for my app. I have reactions live on the Samsung version (first image showing reactions, 2nd one showing its the One UI version of Messages)

Anyone worrying that the Samsung version is stripped down can rest easy knowing they are just waiting on a Google server side change like any other Google app update.

Edit- for reference I have a S22 Ultra, AT&T version, on One UI 4.1

    S21 FE battery life

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 12:21 AM PDT

Is something wrong with my battery? I only charge to 85% with the Protect Battery option, but after it's charged it goes down really fast until around 79%, then it basically works as normal. I usually get 3 hours and 40 minutes of SOT with heavier usage (no games at all) and 120Hz. Is that good or bad for this phone? I've been using it since March 8.

    Getting rid of S21FE

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 04:44 PM PDT

I traded in my S20Fe for the S21Fe and the battery life on the new S21fe is absolute garbage when not running battery saver all day. Which seems oddly pointless considering the specs on it. It also gets insanely hot when charging or using for periods of time. At least the S20fe I wouldn't need to charge it nearly 3 times a day.

Samsung support has been bad when it comes to help. Been trying to trade this s21fe for a credit towards an S22+ or something similar but nothing and looked at other places. Anyone got any ideas how to go about this so I don't get absolutely burned by prices?

37 Years Life? Samsung The Freestyle

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 01:01 AM PDT

Why do some A42 5G have 3 rear cameras and some have 4?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 12:31 AM PDT

I just got an A42 5G from Verizon today and was looking for cases on Amazon. I found that almost all the A42 5G cases available on Amazon are for 4 rear cameras with an extra cut out for the flashlight and realized that mine only has 3 rear cameras.

The phone also looks different on Samsung US website and Samsung Taiwan website.

Does Samsung sell A45 5G of different specifications in the US and Asian markets?

Long time iOS user considering an S22 but not familiar with Android market. What to expect? Tips? etc.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 12:34 PM PDT

TLDR: Getting bored and want to spice up my choice of phone for once..

I've been with the iOS market for a long while and I'll be honest, seeing that same home screen for years has started to grow boredom in me. I love the simplicity of iOS and it just "simply working" with what I use it for. But as much as I enjoy it, I want to try something new so I've been considering trying out the S22 (don't know which model to even use) for this run as my 2-year upgrade plan is about to kick in. Not sure if I want to wait to see what the 14 brings (if any) or just to go ahead and pull the trigger.

My only complaint is that last time I used Android I felt like it was going out of its way to inconvenience me about doing the simplest of tasks. I don't know how much it's changed since then but that's all that stuck with me. I do like the fact I can switch from the, in my opinion, awful on-screen navigation buttons to the iOS's swipe instead.

So I guess what I'm asking is, what can I expect? Any tips? What kind of customizations are there? Etc etc.

How's battery life on your S22 ultra?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 02:10 PM PDT

When I used S20 ultra, I was used to charging the phone every two days. For S22 ultra, it seems like I charge it twice a day.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

I lowered resolution to 1080p and refresh rate to 60hz. Now I can charge about once a day with moderate usage. Mine is the snapdragon variant.

    S20FE vs S21FE

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 07:50 PM PDT

I want to buy a Samsung phone but I am not sure between the S20 Fe and S21 Fe

S20 fe has snapdragon 865 cpu, it costs $455.47

S21 fe has exynos 2100 cpu, it costs $544.23

Given the price difference, is it worth it to get s21 fe?

Using an S20 FE with a 45w charger?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 07:14 PM PDT

I know the max watts an S20FE can support is 25w but curious if there is any long term harm connecting it to a 45w charger?

Is AT&T not accepting S22 Galaxy Ultra’s bought directly from Samsung? 🤨

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 11:26 AM PDT

    Okay, so this was weird.

I went to my local AT&T store closest to my house with a Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra in hand. I bought it unlocked when Samsung had a ton of promotions to buy the phone on their website.

I'm there with my wife (we were upgrading her phone from a Note 8) and were told that they couldn't upgrade her phone because of a bandwidth issue that was occurring with phones bought directly from Samsung. Instead, they wanted to upgrade her existing phone to an S22 Ultra they had on sale (at full price) being displayed in the store.

So I'm checking to see if anyone else has confronted this. It sounds like complete BS since the rep had to talk to his boss to confirm they could take my pre-bought phone and use it to upgrade her existing one (data transfer, etc.)

    Any thoughts on this?

Turned animations off and phone feels much faster.

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 02:31 PM PDT

It doesn't only feel that way, it is. They really need to optimize the animations more.

No Arc GPU in Galaxy book2 pro

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 04:25 PM PDT

I've been wanting a Galaxy book2 pro for a while now and the main reason is the Arc GPU that I've seen in every video and article, but its not an option on the website. Even Samsungs official unboxing says things like weight can change based off graphic configurations. I contacted support and the person seemed like he had no clue what he was talking about, and saying in his opinion he doesn't think it will have one.

anyone else experiencing subtitles & audio out of sync on the s22 series?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2022 02:42 PM PDT

Hi all, I've had the s22+ for just over a week now & have noticed that both subtitles & audio is out of sync with a second or so delay compared to the video. It's definitely an issue with the phone as I tried it on my old phone side by side with the same video & the delay was very noticeable in the s22+. The April update didn't fix this for me.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem with subtitles or still experiencing the audio sync since the April update?
