Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 versions doesn't use an HEPA filter!

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 05:26 PM PDT

The new 4 models, even the PRO, doesn't use true-HEPA filter. Instead they claim to have better technology. Is this true or just marketing?

i need help | mi smart scale 2

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 08:32 PM PDT

I ordered the MI SMART SCALE 2 and it just arrived today. The product is in good condition; no scratches, bumps, or anything. As soon as I got it out of the box, I downloaded the app (it's now called ZEPP LIFE and not MI FIT) and it connected successfully. However, I can't see what my "body score" is. "Couldn't measure", it says. Does anyone in here can help me?

Help with selecting of a new Xiaomi Phone

    Posted: 28 Mar 2022 12:17 AM PDT

Hello everybody, I'm new here so I'll try to keep it short.

Over the years, I've had a few Xiaomis, namely: Redmi Note 5 Redmi Note 8T and currently Redmi Note 10

I've been happy with all of them, I really liked the phone call record feature on the older one.

Now, a week ago I smashed the display on my RN10 and since there's a good discount on new RN11s where I'm living, I decided to pick one up, repair the current RN10 and keep that as a backup.

But I can't decide which one to pick up and thought you guys might help me.

The models in this case are:

    Redmi Note 11S 6gb/128gb Redmi Note 11 Pro 6/128 Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G 6/128 Redmi Note 10 Pro 6/128 (no discount)

In helping me decide, please keep in mind that I'm really happy with my vanilla RN 10 , I don't need NFC, even though all of the above have it. I also don't need 5G, but that one model has Snapdragon and since I like my phones to sound good when a BT speaker is not around, I included it as well because I read something about AAC and no aptx codecs in the rest of the models.

I'm really not an expert, I don't play games, I DO play a lot of music, usually via JACK or Bluetooth, I do like to take photos and occasionally, selfies. I want to use an SD card. No plan for a second SIM so far. But it's nice to have the option. I also want a good cover glass. My 8t had Gorilla 5, my RN¹0 has GORILLA 3 and I don't know the difference but I think it was more fragile. Not gonna mention baterry since all of these rn11s have 5Ah. I also don't care about how many Hz the display is running at.

That's about it from me. Thank you in advance for commenting and for your opinions.

    Tl;dr I need to pick a phone between RN11S, RN11PRO, PRO5G and RN10PRO.

My demands: Big battery Good glass cover Music quality Similar in action to RN10

Redmi Note 8 Pro - Looking for a guide to unlock the bootloader and root the Indian version (begoniain)

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 11:49 PM PDT

Hello there people, I am honestly scared to follow the usual root methods that can be found on XDA, Youtube and so on because I bought the India version, Model: M19008G7E, I searched for it and found nothing thus far.

Can you people help me find a specific root method for the India version... or the usual rooting methods for "begonia" also work on this variant?

Phone heats up while fast charging.

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 10:12 PM PDT

My redmi note 10 pro came with a 33w charger and whenever I use it my phone gets very warm. I have read that constantly high temperature can decrease the battery health and life in a long run.

I don't want my phone to heat up but at the same time want to enjoy the fast charging.

Missing Battery Optimization after MIUI 13

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 08:17 PM PDT

I used to have a setting to ignore battery optimization for apps that I don't want Xiaomi to kill. Now I can't find this option in the settings. Where is it?

Is MIUI really *that* bad now?

    Posted: 26 Mar 2022 08:17 PM PDT

So i bought the Mi Mix 2 in 2018, and after that Ive basically never paid attention to any news/stuff about phones, recently i started to pay attention again, and im seeing tons of people complaining about MIUI being buggy and etc, while personally im stuck on MIUI 12.0.1 and don't have any complains other than some visual bugs and battery because of age, is MIUI really that bad now? Or does it only applies to the Redmi&Poco series? What happened to Xiaomi? Did they really got lost in their way?

Still stuck on version 12.5.3 on Mi 11 lite 5G

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 06:46 PM PDT

    Hello everyone,

Hope all is well. I seem to have this problem concerning updating the software on my phone; I am still stuck on 12.5.3 EEA even though there's 13.0.4 EU version. I tried installing the software and to manually update it however I got the 'cant verify update: flashing to this stable ROM is not allowed'

Have I missed something? Or is this normal because it's my first Xiaomi phone and I'm not familiar with their update scheduling.

    AX3000 Vs AX3600

Anybody who's better at understanding router terms than me care to help me pick one? They're both on offer here, but the 3600 is 50% more expensive. Is it worth it?

Mostly used for Netflix and gaming, aswell as very few IoT devices.

    Apps not 'holding' the activity.

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 05:21 AM PDT

After I did update to the newest miui 12 on my Redmi Note 8T, i noticed that apps doesnt hold their activity in the background. In example when I'm watching youtube video, and i switch to Instagram, and go back to YouTube again, Im on the main page, not the video. Its frustrating cuz I cannot even do simple SMS verification or exit the app, because it will go back to its 'freshly-opened' state. I tried battery optimization - off, miui optimization - off, autostart - on, but nothing worked. Please help, because I cannot log into half of my apps, or dm back while watching something.

I'm thinking of returning my new Poco F3 phone and buying another, any same range phone suggestions?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 03:59 AM PDT

I will start by saying that I know the majority of issues I have will be fixed by installing a custom rom, but I don't really want to do that and I don't want to void my waranty or do something wrong ( i have no experience whatsoever with installing custom roms )

    Issues:

    **Weak Vibration**

This is really bugging me. With my old phones, I was mostly keeping them on silent and I always heard the calls and notifications I received. With this phone the vibration is so weak that I have to have the phone in my hand and concentrate on the sensation in order to actually feel it, and I'm not even exagerating. What's even more frustating is that the vibration is actually stronger when you do other things, but not when you receive calls and notifications. If the phone is capable of more, why this weak vibration?

    **Customization and Settings**

I have to say that I'm kinda dissapointed with the lack of personalization options. The old control center isn't affected by themes, most themes don't show a music player notification on the lock screen and there are not many themes to choose from, the lock screen clock can't be modified to show seconds. I can't deactivate vibration when I click on a song to listen to it, there is no vibration intensity setting other than haptic feedback, which makes the phone vibrate on every touch, which I particulary hate.

    **Bugs**

Notifications dissapearing without me doing anything, not being able to enter an app by clicking on the notification, music player on lock screen suddenly dissapearing even with the original theme and needing a reboot to work, apps not opening from the first time, phone suddenly freezes for a few seconds.

**No headphones jack and no SD card suport**

What I like about the phone:

    **Battery**

Battery life is insanely good, it's probably the best I've ever encountered. It takes more than a day for it to drain if not gaming, and even while gaming constantly it does take some time.

    **Macro camera**

I absolutely love the macro camera, I love being able to do close pictures of insects, small flowers and capturing detail.

**60/120hz display refresh rate and Snapdragon processor**

It works really well, gaming is not laggy, it's definitely good for that.

If there is solution to the vibration problem I might consider keeping it, I'm not really sure of my decision, what do you guys think?

My phone takes an hour to get from 92% to a 100%.

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 04:01 PM PDT

Is it worth it to wait for that hour? I usually wake up pretty early, charge my phone, wake up 2 hours later and my phone would be at 90ish%.

I already know it's some sort of mechanic on today's phone charging to slowen the charging after 90%.

The phone is Redm i9T btw, 6000mah battery. I'm also using a 10W charger, let's just say the original charger you got it with got lost, lol.

Again, would it be worth it to wait for that hour? Would it reduce my phone lifespan? Would it be risky?

Updated to MIUI 13/Android 12 on my Poco X3 Pro yesterday

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 11:56 AM PDT

    Pro:

Battery life seems to be the same or slightly better

A few tiny details like new neat animations and rounded widgets

    Con:

More micro-laggs, it feels overall less smooth and fluid

The Google theme engine is now here but the dynamic colour can't be turned off or controlled in any way, it's incompatible with Xiaomis theme app

Neutral: YouTube is as buggy as before

Redmi Note 5 Pro - Can't Connect To iPhone Hotspot? Any Tips?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2022 03:25 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

Thought it was worth a shot asking around here, sorry if this is not the subreddit for it, please feel free to delete if doesn't fit.

My dad needs to connect his RN5 phone to an iPhone hotspot. But there seems to be an issue. The hotspot shows up, enter the correct password and it shows as connected but it stays greyed out. It doesn't turn blue like it does when connection is established. There is no actual internet connection.

    Here's pics: https://imgur.com/a/s95kvgg

Anyone have any clue about this? I tested another Xiaomi phone and it connected to the iphone no problem. So it's just this Redmi Note 5 that has this problem. Maybe installing a custom rom could fix it? But would be nice if there was some other simpler solution.
