Posted: 19 Feb 2022 01:45 PM PST Hi guys, What makes sigma different and much better than usual coding challenges is that you compete 1v1 against an online player and the fastest one wins You can try it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eshqol.sigma I would appreciate any reviews and suggestions, thanks! In addition, Sigma currently only offers Python challenges but I'm planning to add more languages so I would be happy if you would suggest me your favorite! [link] [comments] |
An alarm clock which can be stopped by doing motion based tasks Posted: 19 Feb 2022 11:47 AM PST If this alarm clock app can't wake you up, then nothing can. Fitaris gentle alarm starts quietly and gets louder if you don't do anything about it. Recording your sleep movements can be used to let Fitari wake you up during a light sleep phase, improving your sleep quality. This app will wake you up. Here's what Fitari users think about the app. You can now get the newest, improved version of the alarm clock on Google Play. More features of the app: - Wake up check - Lock all alarms for a couple of hours - Disable power off button during alarm (hard mode) - Scan a QR- or barcode to disable an alarm - Emergency call functionality to stop an alarm if necessary - Available time formats: 12am/pm and 0-24h - You can find a list of ALL features here! If you've tested the app, I'd appreciate it if you tell me what you think about it here. [link] [comments] |

When you're using a 'Charging Meter' app, how do you determine the Watts your phone is charging at? Posted: 19 Feb 2022 05:14 PM PST Many phones claim they have fast charging, and they'll give you a high Watt number, but when I use any Charging Meter app, the only info I find is the voltage and charging current, but no Watt information. How do I tell how many watts my phone is charging at? [link] [comments] |
Mail app with folder-subfolder notifications. Posted: 19 Feb 2022 07:41 PM PST Hi, I'm looking for an email app that could send notifications when an email arrives to folders-subfolders. I've been using the Outlook app and I think I tried Spark but those only notify me when they arrive to the Inbox. Is there any app or method where you can have a folder, lets say "Banking", notify me when I receive an email from any of my banks? Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Looking for an app to handle music spread across multiple services. Posted: 19 Feb 2022 07:58 AM PST Was driving in the car earlier and getting a little frustrated about how I've got some of my music collection on SoundCloud and some on Spotify and some on my device storage...and with no real way to link them all to the same place. Is there any app that would let me like...load in a Spotify Playlist and all these other services and just shuffle the lot with automatically switching between the services as needed? Tell Spotify to play song A, then pause Spotify load up native player for the next song, etc... [link] [comments] |
Looking for bare bones YouTube casting app Posted: 19 Feb 2022 01:03 PM PST I'm trying to find a way to cast YouTube video to my Chromecast without going to the home/recommendation screen after the video ends. Essentially I'd cast the video, the video would play and end, and the TV screen would go blank, or the Chromecast connection would drop. The only way I've found to do it so far is to use VLC to cast a stream (of the URL to the YouTube video) and that does work, but it's somewhat complicated, slow, and janky. [link] [comments] |

Looking for some app that helps me to sync folders to the cloud on android, obviously Posted: 18 Feb 2022 10:28 PM PST I know that some apps like Mega, Mediafire or Google Drive has an option to synchronize and save in their cloud your "Cellphone Photo Gallery", but that is useless for me, because I need to save various folders that I use to work in school, random stuff like my drawings, etc. It's not a 50GB data, just like 5 GB or so, and is a bit frustating when I haven't the file that I need lol [link] [comments] |
App to compare different images/interfaces Posted: 19 Feb 2022 02:14 PM PST Is there an app that allows anyone to compare different images/interfaces? I mean any app that allows you to select the best photo/interface by actually asking other people to select the best one. It can be usefull for me when I am developing my other Apps. I don't believe that there is anything so simple, but is anyone else interested in it? It is actually very easy to develop for example by integrating it with Amazon Mechanical Turk. I am considering creating this app, but I would like to understand if people are interested in it, each comparison is not free, because Amazon Mechanical Turk is not free. But for 1$ you can get an opinion of approximately 50 people. [link] [comments] |
Seshat - a free, minimalist & open-source logger Posted: 18 Feb 2022 11:43 PM PST introducing seshatSeshat is an app that lets you keep track of any numerical values. It's free, non-bloated, and open-source. It's really not as convenient and user-friendly as most other apps. My intention was to make a suckless, modular app that follows the UNIX philosophy of "Do one thing and do it well". Please read this manual i've created to understand its use-cases: https://biotstoiq.org/software/seshat.html. if you have any questions, or if you run into some issues, please comment below so that i can try to answer your questions. note: there's probably tons of apps available for android which does exactly what seshat does, and is capable of even more. i'm targeting a niche of the crowd - the kind of people who likes to keep their phones are minimal as possible. Posted: 19 Feb 2022 12:01 AM PST Short Summary: I've an idea and I would like to develop an app for it but the problem is the app has too many features interdependent. I would like to start with one feature and launch it. But the problem is i'm afraid if i launch the app with one feature, then I may not be able to add new features into it without fully changing the code as the features are interdependent. Also I would like to start my backend locally on the device itself and then move on to cloud like firebase but how would you approach it ? Should we design the app like the whole database structure and the features and then write according to it? If you don't understand please read the below explanation. Thanks !!!!!!! Explanation : I've decided to develop productivity containing a to-do list, time-tracker, habit-tracker, goal-tracker, and all features will be interdependent like the to-do list will also show the habits or goals or how much time is tracked.I've received advice to start with one feature at a time and then launch it and then keep adding new features. My doubt is let's say I start with a to-do list and then launch it in the play store, if I want to add a time tracking feature or another new feature to the existing app, then there is a possibility to rewrite the entire code to add a new feature. To avoid this Should I can design the UI of the whole app (with all features) but only code the to-do list part and then launch it (Or) Should I use MVVM architecture ( as it's scalable ) and then add new features (Or) Is there any other alternative method that you would follow while developing an app that has to be scalable. Also, I would want to start the backend of my app stored on the local device but in the future, I may change the backend to firebase. In such a case, how should I really design my app in order to make the migration to a cloud DB easier? I don't know about MVVM but I've researched it as it's scalable. It would be easy if you explain like How should I approach building a scalable app as an indie app developer? Thanks for reading the question though :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 03:23 PM PST I came across this online app some time ago, it was great to organize ideas. But i lost it. Now i cant find it. It was very complex. But super good. It was not necessarily for android. Can you please help me find it? Posted: 19 Feb 2022 04:59 AM PST I use a version of 2017 and I wonder if the new versions make a more efficient use of resources and lower battery consumption -2500 mAh btw- (in terms of space I highly doubt it will be less) or if it might be a good idea to stay in a very old version. I hardly use any Google service so it doesn't matter how it works (unfortunately I can't disable or uninstall it without damaging the entire system). [link] [comments] |
