S20 - Disable floating windows Posted: 26 Feb 2022 03:54 AM PST Whenever I start a timer on my Galaxy S20 in the Clock app and "leave" the app I get this tiny floating window with the remaining time. Is there any way to disable this type of behaviour for all apps? If so, how? It's driving me bonkers. I've tried the picture-in-picture setting but that doesn't seem to be it. [link] [comments] |
Any way to have the ios like app loading on the homescreen? Posted: 26 Feb 2022 04:52 AM PST Hi, i was an ios user until a week ago, got an S21 Ultra and i like it alot so far, but one thing that bothers me is that when i download from the playstore i have to open the notifications to know where my download is at, i'd like to know if there's a way to see it like on ios where the icon is there but transparent and slowly comes to it's normal state when it's over ? if not is there any alternative that's better than opening notification settings ? thank you [link] [comments] |
Location setting isn't working Posted: 26 Feb 2022 03:38 AM PST So, the Location setting on my phone stopped working yesterday: Thursday night before I turn my phone it was working but yesterday when I tried to use google maps, it wouldn't repond. I tried looking on Privacy settings and ran the three available Locating Methods (GPS,WI-FI and mobile networks, Wi-Fi and mobile networks or GPS only), I also turned on the Improve Accuracy option, selecting both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning, but nothing happens. Any ideas of how could I fix this? My phone is an old Galaxy G7 LTE, single sim card and besides this problem, it's working perfectly [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2022 02:57 AM PST When you were to update an app in the Play Store, you had in most cases a "What's new" detailing changes and the like. Does someone know where it's now?. It seems to have been removed. [link] [comments] |
Changing default google account on android phone Posted: 26 Feb 2022 06:30 AM PST I have an android phone and two google accounts on in. First one is usually default account. I want to remove that default account. Do I lose all the games statuses etc or everything if I remove it and leave only second account? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2022 05:52 AM PST I made this post under a different account and i deleted the file? So i wanted to edit but i decided to make a new post (deleted the old one). Basically an app with the android logo, no name, nothing when long pressing and then pressing app info popped up on the home screen, i found an app with the same android logo under settings>storage>apps and it was called openid, there were no uninstall button.i managed to find and delete openid through a file manager, unfortunately the app is still on my homescreen (to clarify the android logo on the app is just the logo you get when you downloaded an apk without any logo). I don't know if this is a virus or not but avast antivirus (free version) didn't pick up on any viruses. The phone is oppo reno 4 she didn't remember the game she downloaded along with this app. I'll send pics of the app through dms if anyone wants to help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2022 05:46 AM PST So I was pretty stupid when I went on some websites, got redirected to another website that asked me to leave Incognito Mode (i was on chrome). I basically grew up and scanned my phone with malwarebytes first, it found an adware (deleted now) and changed to kaspersky, which says my phone is clear. Checked my apps, nothing out of the ordinary, I've been thinking about it for a few days, paranoid on some. Any help is welcome, thanks. Edit: Wanted to add that I dont think my phone is rooted (It says official in the settings). If that helps. [link] [comments] |
Samsung Galaxy S21 or Huawei Mate 40 Pro? Posted: 26 Feb 2022 05:29 AM PST Hi everyone, Hoping somebody can help/provide opinions. I am looking for a new phone, specifically one with a good camera as I will be travelling the world this year and I want to get some good pictures. I currently have the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, I love the phone but find the camera let's it down. Now I've narrowed my choice down to two options, the Samsung galaxy s21 or the Huawei mate 40 Pro but I'm really torn. Does anybody have either of these phones and can offer an opinion or give me some advice? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Feb 2022 01:18 AM PST I am a noob when it comes to actually having service. I've used Android phones for years, but recently I was given a sim card for a family plan to actually have service. My problem is I am able to make and receive phone calls but the mobile internet will not work at all. We live in the country where connection is not the best, but this sim card was used by my brother before he switched to his own plan, and he was able to use its internet for online gaming and in general it worked pretty well for him. I've yet to be able to connect to it once and mobile data shows no bandwidth used, I've tried all the simple suggestions Google can offer like reseting settings, phone, removing sim card etc. Was I supposed to do something after inserting a sim card in my phone for the first time, like reactivate it or something? It's just weird that I can make calls but not use the internet when everyone else in my house has no issue. [link] [comments] |
Use usb otg webcam on skype or similar apps? Posted: 26 Feb 2022 05:01 AM PST Is it possible? Hooking up an external usb webcam to an otg capable android phone? zoom, whatsapp, etc those apps? [link] [comments] |
Can we make an Android phone with exposed heatsink interface to enable desktop use? Posted: 26 Feb 2022 04:59 AM PST New smartphones' CPU and GPU performance beat many old desktop PCs, but they are limited by thermal constraints from being used as desktop PC. Early attempts such as Motorola Atrix failed. After using for a while, it became slow and laggy. Not a good desktop PC. I am imagining a phone with a monitor dock that thermally couple to the phone. The phone's body have a slab of copper that directly contacts the CPU and expose to the outside. Picture Illustration The dock would have another piece of copper that couples to the exposed "heatsink interface", to transfer heat from the phone to a desktop-sized heatsink and fan. Does this design enable CPU to run 4GHz+ for extended time like in a desktop PC? Anything I haven't considered? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2022 04:57 AM PST I've been using different custom ROMs for some time now. Recently I've noticed a pattern on my battery back up while using almost every ROM (A12). When I install a new ROM on my phone (clean flash) and download and set up all necessary files the battery back up goes upto 8hrs SOT with impressive stand by back up. But after using the ROM for couple of months the back up falls down very significantly. Can someone explain real theoretical reason behind this? Is there any way to keep the similar battery performance in long term (like deleting temp files or something like that)? If yes is there any online tutorial for that? Peace [link] [comments] |
No Option to Block Unknown Numbers on Android Phone? Posted: 26 Feb 2022 04:26 AM PST All of the guides say go.to.thr phone app, hit the three dots, settings and there's supposed to be a Block Unknown Numbers toggle... I DONT have this. OnePlus 8 Pro. I get so many so many spam calls. [link] [comments] |
Can't send texts but can call and receive texts? Posted: 25 Feb 2022 06:35 PM PST Just upgraded to the S22 ultra from the S21 ultra (woohoo s pen) after switching the sim to the s22 I suddenly got this issue where I can't send texts whatsoever. I get the error "can't send message with us cellular error 2" I've never seen this before and haven't found anything online. Checked the sim card status on device info and it says for mobile network state "disconnected" I'm assuming that's not supposed to be that way. It just seems weird to me. Everything is current update etc etc. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
I keep getting a "USB device not supported/recognized" notification but I don't have one plugged in. Posted: 26 Feb 2022 12:14 AM PST How do I fix this? It's getting pretty annoying and it keeps disappearing and reappearing like 5 times per second. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Feb 2022 08:19 PM PST Hey guys, I am considering installing a custom ROM for S8 (Samsung Galaxy S8). But I was wondering if there was an emulator out there for S8 where you can run it on your computer, you can even emulate installing TWRP and rooting the device as well as installing LineageOS through TWRP so I can practice without stuffing up my real device? [MIUI 12.5.1] Lots of zero-byte files that I can't delete Posted: 25 Feb 2022 09:41 PM PST I have a Redmi 7A running MIUi 12.5.1 debloated a long time ago with Szaki's XiaomiADBFastbootTools. I have a bunch of zero-byte files that I can't get rid of. They are not visible in Mi File Explorer, but are visible in Solid Explorer. When I try to delete them in the latter, I get a generic 'these files could not be deleted' error. Screenshots: https://ibb.co/TKKqXRH https://ibb.co/w7fMzqZ Can someone help? [link] [comments] |
