Posted: 02 Dec 2021 09:00 AM PST I've developed an app, there are a few big names in the niche. It is a truck stop app and navigation for truckers in north america. I have done the research, found a lot of the pain points. When I developed my app, I resolved a lot of those pain points. The app has been live for a few months now. But sadly I haven't gotten any users to stick around. The user must create an account to access the info for the app, I think this is the main step off point for the downloaded users. I use the firebase analytics, so I can see that some do go to the register screen, but others don't. Out of the 10 users that have installed the app, only one has created an account. But they have since left the app. I have used aso and I have a website/blog for the app to help reach more potential users. I got tired of just paying for impressions with facebook ads, so I've stuck with Google ads. So far this is the only point where I've been getting clocks to the store listing and installs. But like I've said, the app has only had about 10+ downloads since launch a few months ago. I feel like another big issue is that a lot of the info like parking updates, weigh station updates and fuel/def updates are all from the users. I think that's another big reason why it's hard to get users on the app, who wants to be the first few users on a crowd sourced app? What else can I do to drive traffic to the app? I only have it launched on Android. The competition apps have at least 10k to 500k active users. Should I order some business cards for the app and leave them around truck stops, maybe get some peel and stick labels to leave near the fuel pumps? I'm not good with marketing. Should I consider letting users just create a guest account and then down the road if they want to leave comments or updates, have them update their accounts with their email and all that? Also, have you had an improvements with using an in-app sharing feature for users to share your app with people they know? I thought about giving the referring user a promo code for a 2 week trial on the navigation for free. I feel that would be fair. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] | ||
