Write some long text on PC, copy/paste it on mobile Posted: 02 Nov 2021 07:22 AM PDT Hi, each day I have to give an update report that is a few paragraphs in length. My issue is, I am suppose to send the report as a reply to a Slackbot message, but the Slackbot message drops when I'm out of the house often. Can you guys think of a convenient app to faciliate copy/pasting long form text between PC and Android phone? I think posting to Evernote from my PC and then copy/pasting from evernote to Slack in my Android phone is the front running option. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Nov 2021 10:14 AM PDT Both Airdroid and Join (by Jaoapps) have pretty similar functionality. (Yes, I know there are other apps that offer the same functionality, but I'm only interested in these two). Does anyone know which one uses less resources? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Nov 2021 08:21 AM PDT I am about to start volunteer work as an online math tutor, which involves helping kids via zoom by both talking them through situations and through screen-sharing my own thought processes and problem procedures when applicable. Ideally, I would be able to connect to zoom on my desktop computer and be able to screen share a document that I can both: Type on, where applicable, using my computer's keyboard and Draw on, in real time, using my Galaxy Tab S7+ and its stylus, for graphs and other such visualizations Does such a program exist? The alternative would involve having to draw such things with my mouse, which is highly suboptimal, or having to use my tablet to connect with zoom -- also suboptimal. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. [link] [comments] |
Has Instagram/Facebook began to crack down on third-party app users? Posted: 01 Nov 2021 11:19 PM PDT I've remained a Barinsta user all these months after it was taken down and today I've found my account disabled. Tried to login using the official Instagram client and it failed, giving me an 'unknown network error' message. After trying to login via web, Instagram is now asking me to add my phone number so I can get my account back, but I don't think I'll give in. Has this been reported by anybody else? App that closes all apps at 3AM? Posted: 02 Nov 2021 09:58 AM PDT I play videos on Mx player and fall asleep to them but wake up with my tablet dead because it just plays through the night. I know there's apps out there and even in the Mx player app that has a sleep timer but that times with how many hours to turn off. I'm looking for one that closes at a certain time like 3:00 AM Is there something out there like this? [link] [comments] |

Is there a way to play older android games on a pc (or on a newer version of android)? Posted: 02 Nov 2021 12:07 PM PDT Please Note - this post is not in any way intended to either promote piracy or even to speak about it, it is simply asking for help with games that I already have and/or have already purchased, and only for information on how to get them working - absolutely nothing more. I'm not familiar with android emulators or the why older apps would or would not work on newer versions of android, so please be patient with me. Is there a way to use an emulator to play older android games on a pc or laptop? Im talking about games from the days of android 4 and 5. Or is possible, is there a way to get an older game (like the ones mentioned below) to work on a newer phone/android version if the phone is rooted? If the names of the games (most of which are by Glu Games) are required, some of the games Im looking to play are listed below (I've got the apk and data files already, so I don't need those, just a way to play them). • Frontline Commando - by Glu Games • Frontline Commando: D-Day - by Glu Games • Bombshells: Hell's Belles - by Glu Games • Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores - by Glu Games • Gears & Guts - by Glu Games • Gun Bros (android version) - by Glu Games • Indestructible - by Glu Games • Terminator Genisys: Revolution - by Glu Games • RoboCop - by Glu Games • Top Gear: Stunt School SSR - by BBC Worldwide Ltd. And several more, but those are just to start. Also, I know that the in-app purchases most likely won't work, and that is just fine. Thanks for any helpful answers! All the best to everyone and stay Healthy, Happy, and Safe! [link] [comments] |

Samsung's "Battery Protection" Device Health feature. Can it be ported? Posted: 02 Nov 2021 11:51 AM PDT Hello. So on some select devices Samsung decided to include a "Protect Battery" feature that intelligently limits charging to 85% and throttles charging voltages (meanwhile displaying 100% battery charge as a caveat). I don't know why all devices don't have this. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (quite the mouthful) and would like to use this feature for overnight charging. Even though many claim that leaving your device plugged in overnight isn't an issue anymore what with latest software developments I still think it can be improved. I used to 'root' my devices and use software that disabled charging completely when a certain level was reached and I the Samsung battery protection features would be handy. Official Samsung documentation on battery care does not mention this feature: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/galaxy-battery/optimization/#href-more-tip See here for a reference as to what I'm talking about, as you can't find specific feature details on any official Samsung pages.(source - sakitech, Youtube) : https://youtu.be/fejrhMr00eA?t=49 Is it possible to port this feature to an installable APK? layout_weight inside containt layout? Posted: 02 Nov 2021 09:36 AM PDT Hi, I have a constraint layout which takes up about 20 % of my screen vertically. Inside, I have 2 buttons side-by-side and a Textview with my app name above. I was trying to give these buttons and textView horizontal and vertical weights inside this constraint layout, so that when I expand or shrink the screen, they remain proportional and don't overlap each other if shrunk for example. Anything I should look into for doing this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Nov 2021 08:09 AM PDT So I'm interested in the buzzkill app, but since i don't have a credit card, i cannot pay for it. I tried pirating it, but i was unable to find it. Does anyone know of something similar? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Nov 2021 05:58 AM PDT Looking for an app that will move more apps to my SD card. I'd heard that they exist. When I looked it seems that all these apps will reformat your SD card to make is an extension of the internal memory, then move apps to it. Problem is, I have a bunch of stuff on my SD card that I don't want to loose. [link] [comments] |
Does Spotify battery drain decrease significantly if you download the songs instead of streaming? Posted: 02 Nov 2021 05:32 AM PDT I use Spotify a lot at work, sometimes playing for 8 hours straight. As you can imagine this nukes my battery life. I'm wondering if I would benefit pre-downloading the songs instead of streaming them through my data, would I see any significant battery drain decrease? [link] [comments] |

Productivity Hide Content on Android Browsers Posted: 01 Nov 2021 09:07 PM PDT I've posted this on other communities, but it might be easier to answer in this community since it deals with android. I use youtube for videos to help with my college classes. I have also easily used it to waste hours and hours of time. While using AdBlock on Windows 10 I found a very intuitive feature. Honestly ads don't bother me, what bothers me is all the recommendation tiles and thumbnail images you find on the site. This is what makes me easily waste my time when I'm not motivated for schoolwork. With AdBlock I can hide content or select areas on the page (by clicking rectangles) where I don't want to see anything. I've tried to get this type of feature on android. I have the youtube app uninstalled and use youtube through browser applications by typing youtube.com into google chrome application or samsung internet. Is it possible to hide content as described for youtube.com? I would be using either google chrome or samsung internet on my android phone. In addition, I would be willing to pay for this feature if there is an application allowing me to do this on android (but free is always nice too). If this question is better suited for another community let me know as well. [link] [comments] |
