Posted: 30 Oct 2021 07:45 AM PDT I'm not looking for something that will play games at the highest fps and resolution, just something that will not be terrible Edit: looks like I made a stupid mistake, so the title changes to: is a gtx 1060 6gb still good [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Oct 2021 02:15 AM PDT I'm on a budget and I found a prebuilt with an I3 10100 that's just in my budget however there is only 8GB of ram, is it still decent at gaming? I play games like warzone, Thank you everyone for your support [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Oct 2021 08:11 AM PDT I just finished building my secondary pc made from parts I had lying around, and bought. I'm only wondering what I should do with it. I was thinking about setting it up in the living room and connecting it to my TV and use a controller to play some casual games. Is this the best use case or are there other great uses? The specs are: i5 8600 RX 580 8GB DDR4 I am thinking to buy more ram. [link] [comments]
Is upgrading from i5 8600k to 10700k worth it right now? Posted: 30 Oct 2021 11:25 AM PDT aware I need a new mobo also. But I want to go to best buy and upgrade and Ive seen the difference online and it is nice but wanted to get personal thoughts on it.. thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Oct 2021 02:21 PM PDT Hey. I build my pc 1 1/2 years ago and I now get random reboots all the time since two weaks. I can't even browse or do stuff in office anymore. The specs are: Msi B550 Tomahawk Ryzen 5 3600 Corsair vengeance 2x8gb DDR 4 3200 mhz Rx 580 8gb Corsair RM 750x PSU I tried to do a windows repair. Luckily i got an rtx 3060ti a couple of days ago so I unistalled the rx 580 drivers and hoped it might be the graphics card. I still get random reboots and I can't even install new drivers because of this. I also tried running with just one ram stick to see if one of them might be damaged. I get the restart with each one of them. What else could I try? The Mainboard drivers and bios are up to date and I haven't changed anything recently. Has anyone had these issues maybe with this specific Mainboard? Cheers. Happy building 😎 [link] [comments]

My PC is really showing my age (i5 Ivy Bridge), I need to upgrade and not sure what CPU/MoBo Posted: 30 Oct 2021 02:35 PM PDT I want to upgrade/replace my old (but in use!) PC; currently have i5 3550 + GTX 960. I'd like game on it - nothing high end - I usually play on consoles (though Game Pass may really change that up not sure right now) but most of my PC gaming is usually older games anyway - oh and I do low intensity video editing with Premiere. I understand that basically it is start from scratch situation - a new CPU/Motherboard combo looks like the best place to begin. I don't have a crazy budget so was wondering what setup would be a good balance between price and performance. e.g. what gen Intel would be the minimum worthwhile upgrade whilst being somewhat future proof? Do I need to go in on a LGA 1200 motherboard as the best way to future proof, because if I choose 9th gen or below (LGA 1151) then it prevents me upgrading my CPU in the future right? Any advice welcome - cheers! [link] [comments]
Is there a point in waiting until Black Friday to buy PC parts? Posted: 30 Oct 2021 11:51 AM PDT Will there be any discounts? Or will the prices still be as inconsistent as usual? [link] [comments]

Some advice needed on moving a computer overseas Posted: 30 Oct 2021 09:57 AM PDT Thanks for taking the time in advance! I half built a computer a year or two ago and I now have to pack it up and move it overseas. Im going to be ditching the case and psu as the case is huge and the psu isn't compatible where I'm headed. I was just wondering what the best way to do this is. Can I just unplug my MB and put it in a box with everything still attached, and then hook it back up to a psu and mount it in a new case when I get there? Sorry for the probably really stupid questions ha I've just never really handled computer parts much outside of that first build that my friend did most of. Posted: 30 Oct 2021 10:54 AM PDT Will a i9 10900 be a good fit for my 3060 ti? If not, what cpu would you recommend ? If so, what would be a really good motherboard to get with it? ( I'm 15 and this is my first time building a pc) [link] [comments]
PSU's with monitoring options? Posted: 30 Oct 2021 02:59 AM PDT I have a couple of Corsair PSUs that can be monitored (over USB) for power usage and while I am happy with it as a PSU, I am not too charmed by Corsair Link, iQUE, etc. In fact I can't really figure out what is their recommended solution, and what is being depreciated, how to configure things without it constantly being a PITA about upgrading, etc. I also find it odd that I can't seem to find many other vendors with that kind of monitoring capability - seems like ThermalTake has it, although I couldn't be sure. Surely Seasonic must have something? Ideally, I'd like something with just a device driver that can be picked up by HWInfo or something. I guess USB is the only viable solution today, though it seems like a bit of a waste of a socket, shouldn't there should be some kind of wireless IoT protocol for motherboards yet for this kind of non-critical low bandwidth infrastructure? Anyone have any suggestions for a decept PSU with a lightweight monitoring solution? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Oct 2021 08:42 AM PDT Hey guys, I know this is not the right place to ask for help on this topic, but I dont have too many options. I bought new monitor before I build PC, and currently am using it with my laptop. Monitor in question is ACER 27'' Nitro KG272S 144Hz Full HD. And because my laptop is kinda old (nvidia 950m 2gb) i left it on 60hz and installed new nVidia drivers. The problem is when I enter any game(I tried Valorant and Rocket League) the monitor drops to 30hz(it has counter in top right corner). Even weirder thing is that Valorant sees my monitor as 4K in video settings. Anyone had any problems that resemble these ones? Last thing I did I enabled fast sync and triple buffering in nVidia control panel, but before that games were stuttering like crazy even if they can go constant 60fps. Thanks in advance! Just built my first PC. How do these Heaven benchmarks look for the EVGA 1070 FTW in 2021? Posted: 30 Oct 2021 12:01 PM PDT CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X GPU is EVGA GTX 1070 FTW Settings in Heaven were:

How are my results for an old GPU in 2021? This was also after I realized my CPU fan wire was interfering with the exhaust blades at the top of my case so the exhaust wasn't spinning lol. I haven't benchmarked again after getting the wire out of the way so maybe it'll perform better with an extra functioning exhaust. [link] [comments]
PC turns on but nothing on display after replacing cpu and cpu cooler Posted: 30 Oct 2021 11:30 AM PDT You guys probably get lots of generic MY pC WonT TURN oN type of questions and I'm sorry to be adding to that. I recently upgraded my CPU and added an AIO to my system. I got everything installed except for the RGB headers (those shouldn't matter right?) I turn on my system and everything powers up but nothing shows up on my monitor. I know this could be because of a variety of things but is there an efficient method/checklist I could go through to make sure I have everything right? Posted: 30 Oct 2021 02:59 PM PDT *srry for english* So i been through alot in the last years dealing with anxiaty and depression but now i got a job after a long time of having none and my first objective is to upgrade my old pc (mine is a 10year old laptop and even tho is still runs amazing, needs an upgrade because can't run most of the things i want to play sadly). So i legit have no knowledge about this topic thats why im asking, ofc i could just get a pc from shop but everybody say is just better to get a builted one. I want a good desktop, something that could run pretty much anything on max settings most of the games, including games that will come in the years to come, imagine something like a ps5 it needs to run games that will come out in 5/10 years. Most of the games i like and want to play are not that demanding but maybe one or two will come in years. Idk whats the ideal budget, i think max i want to spend is 2k, my cousin say i can get amazing pcs for lower then 1k but idk how well they will stay in the years to come. So i need the help of you folks, the big brain ones. Can you guys help make the pc, tell me the name of the parts and so on and a brief explanation about them. *games i like for reference* - path of exile, pillars of eternity, pathfinder, diablo, (yes i like strategy and jrpgs/rpgs), also played LOL years ago, i dont like fps. This is just some exemples. Thx for any help you guys provide! [link] [comments]
Upgrading from a 1080 ti and motherboard fan noise with as rock x570 tai chi Posted: 30 Oct 2021 08:42 AM PDT Hi guys I am looking into upgrading my 1080 ti as I'd like a more fluent experience when gaming in 4k. For this purpose I am thinking about possibly getting a rtx 2080 ti or a rx 6900xt. I could get the 2080 ti for around $1200 and the 6900xt for roughly $1300. Do you think these are reasonable prices? Which one would you prefer/recommend? Do you think I'll need to upgrade my psu as well, as they tend to draw more power? Would you suggest any other changes to the build? Furthermore, I do have an issue with the fan of my asrock x570 taichi mb as it has started to make an ugly and loud grinding noise. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Is water cooling an Intel i5 11400 overkill? Posted: 30 Oct 2021 02:12 PM PDT I'm completing my PC build but not sure what CPU cooler to get. I'm planning on using the integrated graphics on the CPU until I get my hands on a GPU, so I want to make sure it's cooled well. That, and I'm building in a NZXT H510 and I noticed there isnt much airflow. Would an AIO cooler be overkill for my CPU? If not, what size rad should I go for? Posted: 29 Oct 2021 06:13 PM PDT I've recently bought a MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB video card and I can't locate a power connector? I've unfortunately thrown away the packaging and cannot find the manual online. How would I connect this to the motherboard? I really need help [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Oct 2021 12:47 AM PDT is there a big difference between the amd ryzen 7 5800 and 5800x? or would an i7 10700K still be better value for money? [link] [comments]
Do I have to worry about any factors when buying a fan hub? Posted: 30 Oct 2021 12:55 PM PDT This kinda seems like a dumb question but I'd rather ask than just buy one and break everything. So I just built a PC and everything is fine but I have 4 fans (non RGB) and the motherboard only has space for only 2 so I was looking at fan hubs. But do I need to worry about like compatibility or anything else before I buy? [link] [comments] |
