| HTC U11+ charges only after restarting the phone with the charger already connected Posted: 01 Sep 2021 10:28 AM PDT I got a message a while ago that said '' The USB port of this device is experiencing a problem. Please disconnect the cable immediately to avoid possible damage. Do not use the USB port until you ensure that it is clear of obstructions and hasn't been exposed to liquids''. I checked the Liquid Damage Indicator and it looked ok to me. I also cleaned out the charging port first with a small safety pin and then with a tissue paper by rolling one of the edges into a thin point. When I first connect the charger to the USB port and switch the charger on, the phone does not charge. But if I restart the phone with the charger still on and connected to the port, the phone starts charging. If it is charging, then I think the USB port is working fine.
