iPhone user looking to change things up. Need some advice

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 08:04 PM PDT

I'm an iPhone user and recently build a PC so I figured I'd make the full conversion and go into android as well.

Currently I've planned to upgrade my phone at the end of this year or maximum before Feb 2022.

One of the phones that has my eye is the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. I am tossing between that and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (or maybe even the Fold 3).

My questions to you guys are:

    1. Are there any rumors of when the Mi 12 Ultra ( I assume 12 is the next phone) is coming out? I don't want to spend money on a phone that will be upgraded in 2-3 months. I can justify buying a phone if the updated version is coming out in 6 months, but any less than that and its not worth it.
    2. Is there much a difference between the Ultra and non Ultra (Pro i think its called). My main priorities are battery life, longevity (I want it to last at least 3 years while still being quick) and importantly camera
    3. Is there any concerns I should have in general with buying a Xiaomi phone? Before I move over to Windows + Android I was using MacOS + iOS. My calendar, events, notes, messages, photos, calls, mail and everything else synced perfectly between my iPad, iPhone and Macbook. Is this possible with Android (Xiaomi specifically) and PC? I know Windows 11 has built in Android apps so this might be improved in the future.

    One handed mode themes

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:02 PM PDT

Try using the themes : Android 12 -P.A + change the status bar in customise theme with : Sassi v12

Basically it brings the entire UI down by a bit so it's easy to reach things on tall xiaomi phones.

Redmi note 10 pro max 6 GB/ 8 GB? Need advice

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:02 PM PDT

What are the perks of having 8 GB RAM over 6 GB. I don't do any gaming on the phone just use normal day to day apps. Which one should I prefer?

    12.5 for MI0t

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 03:57 PM PDT

Bit of a rant. I have a global mi10t, and there's still no MIUI 12.5. phones like mi9 and redmi note 10 pro have already gotten it and I'm stil here waiting like an idiot. What's actually going on? This is unacceptable from Mi.

I can't screenshot with 3 fingers, and when I look for miui optimization after the new update, can't find it. Any solutions?

Like title says. I can't find, even though it is supposed to be at the end of developer options

Mi 11 China ROM in US

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:04 PM PDT

I'm looking to get the Mi 11 and I found a damn good deal on the China version.

    https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-mi-11-5g.html

I've checked the specs of it and it matches the bands that I need for my network (T mobile). Does anyone have any experience with using China ROMs in the US and if so, what are the pros and cons of it?

I am fairly certain that the China ROM will serve my needs just as well as the global version. If not, I could flash the phone with the xiaomi.eu ROM, but I want that to be a last resort if I have to.

Also if you know of any other retailers where I might be able to find a MI 11, feel free to share.

    Thanks in advance!

Poco F2 Pro no longer charges after updating to MIUI 12.5.1

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:02 PM PDT

Today, I updated my Poco F2 Pro to MIUI 12.5.1, and it seemed perfectly fine for a while. But now the phone doesnt charge at all when I plug it in. I have tried 3 different cables on 3 different power bricks and the phone's not receiving any power. Does anyone know if I can fix this, or do I have to send it in get it repaired?

"Raise to wake" bug - Poco M3 Pro 5G

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 08:49 PM PDT

    hi,

i just recently bought the Poco M3 Pro 5G smartphone and i've noticed the weird behaviour that i can't disable "Raise to wake" in the "Lock screen" settings. the phone wake behaviour seems to be unaffected by either enabling or disabling this option.

raising the phone with the camera covered does not wake it (since i disabled this option aswell - so this is the expected behaviour).

i tried updating firmware, rebooting (both with this option enabled and disabled), shutting off (again both with this option enabled and disabled).

is there a fix for this? i would like my phone to NOT wake when i raise it/face it

    Night charging habits

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 07:18 PM PDT

So I have a redmi note 10 pro which is my first phone with fast charging (33W),I'm not a fast sleeper so I usually stay in bed watching YouTube for around an hour before I actually sleep.

I was wondering is it better to charge the phone during that hour while using it (minimum brightness and no background apps)

Or just leave it night long in the charger?

Especially because I heard most new phones have smart charging where it can stop or slow charging speed before reaching 100% but I'm not sure if I have that feature or not

    Installing Xiaomi.eu rom

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 02:40 PM PDT

I've been using Miui 12.0.10 Global version on my Redmi Note 10. Can anybody tell me what are the pros and cons of switching to the eu version? Will it void my warranty?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 05:56 PM PDT

Hey guys so my TW Basic earphones 2 have had some issues pop up recently out of nowhere. The left earbud works but barely, the sound is very low, and the right one works as intended. Has anyone else ever faced this problem? If so did you find a solution ? Thanks!

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 05:28 PM PDT

So I have a xiami redmi 6, and there is a function called battery optomization. Does anyone know how to turn off specific battery optomization settings eg. phone screen locking after 15 seconds of inactivity? I have been struggling with this and would appreciate advice.

Can someone give me well thought opinion about installing ArrowOS on my Redmi Note 9s?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 05:20 PM PDT

I bought my phone last December and it was pretty good, but in the past months it has been getting more and more buggy which a really dislike and makes me sad, because at 200$ it's a phone with good features.

I have read that it's because of MIUI and if installing ArrowOS it's no much of a hassle I'd be interested in trying it out.

Edit: It started having a worse performance since the Android 11 update
