| Images can't be viewed from gallery after most recent WhatsApp update Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:29 PM PDT I updated WhatsApp yesterday on my Samsung A50 phone, and all my WhatsApp images have become a '!' on a grey background in the phone gallery and can no longer be viewed. They still exist in the WhatsApp chats and can be viewed in the app but is there something I can do to make them accessible through my phone gallery again? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]  |

| Is there a way to block any auto updates that occur when I enable WiFi on my factory reset phone Posted: 13 Jul 2021 01:48 PM PDT I recently purchased a ZTE Axon Ultra 30, it worked well for a couple days and then an odd update happened. Ever since then I've had an ongoing battle with my ability to make calls/text with this device, I initially thought it was at the carriers end but I was perplexed because my SIM works fine in other devices and they are unable to find anything wrong. Last night I opted to try a full factory reset, I had already done multiple prior in an effort to find a resolution but this time I opted to do it without immediately connecting my phone to WiFi during the setup portion. What I found was two things, all the texts that had failed to come in did and my talk and text was now completely usable. Also the ZTE Locker, which is ZTEs embedded lockscreen wallpaper app was now functioning again. Prior to this it had stopped working and was stuck on one static image (it is suppose to change the lockscreen wallpaper every time you turn on the screen on your device and the images update everyday over Wifi). Unfortunately as soon as I connect my phone to WiFi without any notification I believe the phone does some form of update as within seconds my phones ability to make calls/text breaks along with the ZTE locker. I have attempted to disable any auto updates under the system updates in settings before connecting to Wifi, but unfortunately that does not work as it does not appear to be a full on OS change. Is there any way to disable any updates that are not manually approved when I connect to Wifi? I have reached out to ZTE support and they have escalated the issue to their senior R&D team. However I don't want to wait until a new update before I can have a functioning phone. Just as a note, the issue appears to be particular to 3G calls (although I am not sure why I am failing to receive some texts). In Canada our carriers do not enable VoLTE with phones that are pretty much not Samsung/Apple or have been bought directly from them. Because of this any out of market phones like One Plus and ZTE that are unlocked and compatible only get calling through 3G, which is normally fine. I can get VoLTE briefly if I put my SIM in a carrier approved phone and switch it to my ZTE and it appears to work (until my carrier recognizes the IMEI and blocks it). So this may be why not everyone is experiencing this issue (if they have VoLTE). Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at my wits end. TLDR* some auto update that occurs breaks my ability to make calls/text, when I do a factory reset the phone works perfectly until I connect to WiFi at which point calls start to fail and some text do not go through. I mostly like the stock Google launcher but I hate the Google bar being there when I never use it, even after the app is disabled. What's the best launcher that lets me remove that? Also good if it lets me put in a search bar there like the one IOS has when you swipe down, and has all the same functionality in the same places for everything else, or has options for that. | Car charger will not charge phone if battery is completely flat? Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:05 AM PDT Has anyone encountered this before? I have an S20 Ultra, my phone died the other day so on the way home from work plugged it in to the 12v charger, the charger itself puts out 5v at 1A, when I plugged it in, it brought up the splash screen with the circle and a lightning bolt in the middle, but that's it. When the phone charges normally, that screen pops up followed by another screen which is a percentage to show you the charge level of the phone. But the car charger couldn't make it to that screen. If the phone has power, it will charge in the car. Which is the weird part.. Ideas? Thanks guys. [link] [comments]  |

| Boost LG K51, turned off last night, is it Bricked without recovery? Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:45 AM PDT Good day. I have a LG K51 (LM K500) It has never given me any trouble, I've had it just over a year, and I'm pretty gentle with my phones. It turned off in the middle of use last night and won't turn on. When plugged in, the phone gives a white notification LED, and when I hold down the power button while it's plugged in, the light will blink about 10 seconds in as if it were being restarted. There have been no vibrations or any other sign of life. I have tried various button combinations: Down Vol + Power Up + Down Vol Down + Google + Power Up + Google + Power Plugged in, unplugged. I cannot take out the battery, and (I feel so stupid for this) there was no SD card in the phone for pictures. I would discount this as hopelessly bricked, but I found this page: https://blog.hovatek.com/my-experience-reviving-a-bricked-dead-boot-lg-k51-lm-k500/ and they seemed to be able to recover the phone, though maybe not the data. If anyone with more know-how about this could tell me if I could follow those instructions and recover the phone data, or if it's blanked by the time he gets it up, I'd appreciate it. Are there any other suggestions? I'm all ears. Thank you for your time. EDIT: Someone on r/techsupport suggested that it could be a dead battery, is that likely? I can replace the battery without too much trouble with a spare from amazon. They said they believed it was the battery because the light came on when plugged in and there was otherwise no response. I transferred a bunch of MP4 audio files onto my LG G8, and the phone keeps trying to read them as MP4 video files. My PC, tablet, and Walkman (yes, people still use those for high-quality audio) all read these files as audio, and I don't know why my phone is trying to read them as video. Some type of notification/jingle that I've never heard before is going off on my phone. It's quite jarring and annoying. | Posted: 13 Jul 2021 05:51 AM PDT I swear it was like this before but I could be mistaken. Basically, I prefer my Notification and Ringtone volume to be equal at all times. The Volume buttons only control the Ringtone volume when pressed, but I would like it to be so both Notification and Ringtone are both adjusted simultaneously when those buttons are pressed, so they can be equal How can I go about doing this? I kept trying to google it but the only thing I found was posts about how to separate the two, which is the opposite of what I want. I want to make sure before I try it. I already tried multiple things after my google play services keeps crashing, though none of them worked. I already tried clearing the cache and restarting the device so this is the last option I am going to try, however, I do have another idea of downloading an app that keeps crashing off the google play online store, though I'm not sure if that would be safe due to me already having that on my tablet. | Android 7 on an Oukitel WP8 Pro Posted: 13 Jul 2021 12:54 PM PDT I've been frustrated with this phone for over a month. For some reason some of the settings are modified in the background. For instance, my Discord notifications are frequently switched to off and I have to set them back manually. This is a problem because I use Discord daily and heavily. I like to be kept up to date on what my friends/servers are up to. Another issue I've been having pertains to SMS. A few years ago I purchased an SMS app called Textra. I like the customization features, so I use it a lot, or used to. When I upgraded to my current phone, this Oukitel WP8 Pro, I noticed that sometimes I don't receive sms messages on Textra. One time I texted a loved one that I needed a ride home from work. I waited and waited but never received a reply so I had to take the bus. When I got home they said they had texted me an answer, but Textra never informed me and when I open the app I don't see their reply. On another occasion I received a text back while I had the app open, which leads me to believe that my phone only allows Textra to utilize sms functions while the app is open. I've played around with the settings but I just can't seem to find anything related to the problems I've been having. I have an older Oukitel phone, an Oukitel OK6000, and this phone notifies me of everything. An email, a tweet, a text, every time and always right away. The Oukitel OK6000 handles notifications swimmingly, because it runs Android Nougat. My current phone, the WP8 Pro, runs Android 10. The older OK6000 runs Android 7, which I like better. Since I didn't have all these issues with Android 7, I'm wondering if there's a way to downgrade to Android 7 from Android 10. I've done some googling but I'm not yielding any results that are relevant to my particular issue. Any help or advice would be much appreciated! [link] [comments]  |

So, basically I was wondering if there are any roms that already give or would provide android 12 in the near future for OnePlus 6 without waiting a whole year or more for it.
