Posted: 03 Jun 2021 11:49 AM PDT As the title says I just recently released my first App to the Playstore. I always have been looking for an App that would change the Wallpaper with your current theme. Sadly I never found one. So I made my own - in case you were also looking for something like this feel free to check it out! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tfuerholzer.darkmodewallpaper [link] [comments] |
Recommendations for alternative(preferably Open source?) to Google Contacts Posted: 02 Jun 2021 08:17 PM PDT I don't want to use Google apps but every contacts alternative that I've tried doesn't allow other apps to access my contacts, which is good in theory but that means my messaging apps become pretty inconvenient to use if not borderline useless. Ideally, I'd like a contacts app that lets other apps to access my contacts. Does something like that exist? So far, I've tried Simple Contacts, Open Contacts and ContactBook [link] [comments] |
Messaging app that can block certain group texts? Posted: 03 Jun 2021 11:55 AM PDT Hi, is there any android messaging app that can block or filter out a group text? I don't want to block the underlying people who are texting, I just don't want it to show up when I receive a group message with those specific people. I use the default Google messenger app now and I can achieve the messages when I receive them, but I'd like to just have them blocked or filtered out automatically. I still want to receive individual texts from those people. I've been looking all over and can't find anything with this ability, does it exist? Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

looking for something to playback audiobooks on local storage Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:27 AM PDT When Google shut down Play Music the built-in player for local audio files went with it. I have a dozen or so audiobooks on my phone which I'd like to be able to listen to, but haven't found a good replacement for doing so. The files are there when I go into my phone's storage, but that is way too clunky for playback, as each chapter is typically stored as it's own file and I want to be able to play them back-to-back without having to go into local storage every time a chapter ends. I'm looking for a music or audiobook management app which store each book or album together in the interface and seamlessly queues audiofiles one after another without needing any input from the user to start playing the next file when the previous one ends. There seems to be many apps out there to do this, but I don't know which one to get... What are your recommendations? [link] [comments] |
An App that lets you share photos across smart TVs Posted: 03 Jun 2021 10:23 AM PDT Hey all, I've been through alot career wise. I had a career change after 30 and it was a mixture of getting internships, trainings, and mentors to gain the skills for the job I finally acquired this year. It's my dream job, working for an app as a growth marketing manager. So all things aside, I'm working on marketing a new app and folks are coming into the app, creating accounts, but not starting trial. The trial involves pairing your TV and phone together by downloading the app on both the phone and TV. They're leaving, never to return :( . I've been able to increase numbers at the top of the onboarding funnel. we've (the developers and I) have also implemented a/b testing to see if that will help improve numbers for start trials. The start trials just has me stumped . The app is a pretty cool concept. You download the app, share photos with other smart TVs across the world. Or you can just create your own photo album from your camera roll and turn your tv into a photo slideshow. Anyone want to test out the free trial and give me any feedback. Honest, even harsh feedback? Tips? I'm all ears. If you see anything in the app description, etc. , I'd love to hear any feedback on that as well. [link] [comments] |

iOS like callender on the lock screen Posted: 03 Jun 2021 06:18 AM PDT for 3 years I was looking for an app to place my calendar into the lock screen, or easily access to it from the lock screen.. iOS has it for ages and I'm considering switching just because of that.. wonder if anyone has done something similar to that, I would really appreciate it. I use custom roms, I'm rooted so I'm down for any kind of solution. [link] [comments] |

A weather app that replicated the "Smartforcast" feature from Weather Underground Posted: 03 Jun 2021 01:44 AM PDT I'm really flummoxed as to how no weather app has yet to implement a feature like Wundergrounds Smartforcast feature. If you're not in the loop, the Too Long; Do Read of it is: Weather Underground used to be an amazing hyperlocal weather app that plugged into a community of personal weather stations hundreds of thousands strong (as well as traditional global weather data). IBM bought them and essentially ransacked the app of its usability, functionality and compatibility and putting the one unique feature behind a paywall. While I have no problem paying for features I want, IBM then abandoned the app and now it's just a sad shell of its former self. If you're unfamiliar, Smartforcasts was kind of like IFTTT for weather forecasts. For example, I set up a smartforcast for the best days for doing laundry. At a glance, I would be presented a graph showing hours throughout the week where weather conditions are optimal for drying clothes, defined by me. Has anyone come across a weather app that has a feature like this? I feel I have looked everywhere and have yet to find a single app that shares this feature. Thank you for your time. [TIPS & TRICKS] Using removed Facebook features Posted: 03 Jun 2021 02:08 AM PDT Hi. Since Facebook usually messes up stuff or removes liked features such as being able to disable in-app sounds in Facebook app or enable dark mode I thought I'd share an easy method how to use them still even after the updates. Remove up-to-date Facebook app. Download Facebook version 240 or around that from a safe source like apkmirror. Then install it. You'll be able to disable in-app sounds in the app settings. Download Facebook version 310, install it. It'll update the already installed 240 to 310. Now you can enable dark mode. After these steps you can freely update the Facebook app from play store. The effects will still persist. Warning: Since Facebook as of version 320 removed the ability to toggle both of these options, you won't be able to disable them until you uninstall Facebook app and reinstall the version they were present in. Explanation: Facebook often modifies, removes or changes various features to fine tune them. Most of time. However, during these periods the developers disable the ability to toggle these features so users won't mess with them or cause issues for the new versions to mess them up. But this means that these features are still very much alive inside the code thus if an user toggled them they'll still be useable even if the option was removed in the following versions of the app. You can experiment by installing previous app versions and check your desired features if they still work after update. I tend to jump version with tens thus installing Facebook version 200-210-220 etc. until I find the feature the devs disabled in the up to date version. Same goes for both Facebook and Messenger app and their lite versions. For example editing images/videos before sending them was also removed in newer Messenger versions. [link] [comments] |
