[Tron] LG Velvet 2 Pro's marketing materials

    Posted: 04 Jun 2021 09:32 PM PDT

Tron posted the LG Velvet 2 Pro's marketing materials on Twitter. Seems like the typical Android flagship from this year with a curved display, triple camera setup and no headphone jack.

CameraX needs to be a top priority for Android

    Posted: 04 Jun 2021 09:41 PM PDT

This is probably the least talked about, but most important change for Android. You could argue that poor camera optimization in third party apps is easily the largest letdown of the entire OS. Android is over a decade old and a solid solution has yet to materialize. Google eventually realized how poor and outdated Camera2 was becoming and they decided to create the CameraX library. However they are taking their sweet time developing the library and it has been in beta for a few years.

It should not be possible to spend over $1000 on a smartphone in 2021 and still have a piss-poor camera in nearly every third party camera app.

What do you think is the best year for smartphones?

    Posted: 04 Jun 2021 04:44 AM PDT

For me it's 2013, we had some many good phones back then. Like the HTC one (which in my opinion is one of the most iconic phones of all time), the Lumia 1020, the lg g2, the Xperia z which made waterproofing in smartphone popular. Every smartphone had its own personality and style Which is something that's missing in today's phones imo.

But what do you guys think, what was the best year for smartphones?
