How common are the recent notification issues?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 07:24 PM PDT

I'm looking to get a new phone as I've been suffering with issues with my Huawei P30 for a while now. No matter how many things I try, I cannot get push notifications to reliably work, and it has caused significant issues with both my work life and my personal relationships.

I'm looking to get the Nord as it's within my price range and it's on sale in the UK at the moment. However I've heard that there are current notification issues at the moment after the recent update, where some people have stopped receiving all notifications.

This has been a huge issue for me on my Huawei P30 and I'm really looking to escape that.

Are the notification issues with Oneplus common? Or is it really only happening with a small few phones?

    Thanks!

My background battery usage is ridiculous.. (Oneplus 9 Pro)

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 01:38 PM PDT

I got the phone last week and today, I wanted to test the battery life of the device while doing almost nothing with it, because it felt like the battery drained quite quickly. This is the result:

    https://ibb.co/qm1hhPb
    https://ibb.co/SvRbnmH
    https://ibb.co/9v0GxSQ

This is ridiculous. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Always on display is on, but that can't be draining the battery THAT fast. The screen accounts for only 8% battery usage. 120hz is on, I switched from FHD+ to QHD+ about in the middle of the day to see if that changes things and the drain curve is the same.

Other people get 7+ hours of screen on time and have more battery left after more hours than I have, doing absolutely nothing. What's the deal with that?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I've also opened a support ticket with OnePlus, so we'll see what they have to say.

I thought OOS11 was supposed to be upgrade from OOS10. But apparently its a downgrade?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 03:38 PM PDT

Been using 11 since months on OP7. And let me tell you, I am straight up not having a great time.

Battery drains so quickly. This indicates how poorly power is optimized on this new update.

Camera is VERY BAD. Click and shoot is no more reliable. The pics I take from oos10 compared are oos 11 and complete garbage.

UI is tweeked a bit, which is nice. I am pretty nuetral about it because it didnt change much of my experience as a whole.

Now I was patient enough to wait and see if they fix this in minor updates, but nope. Battery and camera are still same.

Guy DO NOT UPDATE TO OOS11. Its a trap! Maybe wait for 12, ofcourse if the company doesnt shut down until then.

    7 pro slow after update

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 04:55 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

I recently updated my phone (to oxygenOS 11, I think) and it's had some pretty ridiculous performance penalties on my phone (a oneplus 7 pro). For instance, it can't even keep up with the 90hz refresh rate while scrolling through the app drawer half the time, and the phone just generally feels slower. Is there a way for me to roll back to android 10? I was very happy with the state of the phone after the last update, and this new update just feels full of downgrades and dissapointments.

Two weeks into oneplus 9 pro from oneplus 8, my few words.

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 01:26 PM PDT

The built and everything is very good, color is classy (pine green) and honestly this color was the reason behind my upgrade, but overall, I'm disappointed. Oneplus 8 was way smooth than oneplus 9 pro.

    Pros:

Camera: it's a huge upgrade from oneplus 8. I have been using mirrorless cameras since more than half a decade now, indeed the camera isn't consistent but overall it's very good actually.

Color, size and built better than 7 pro which i had before 8, reason i left 7 pro was size and weight.

Display is great, although not noticable in everyday use but HDR stuff can shine.

Cons: Battery life is more or less same, but it's a new phone and oneplus 8 was used, i was expecting more battery life.

Phone heats alot, i can feel it heating after normal usage, and if i put it in my pocket, i can feel the warmth.

Lags, this phone is, due to the OS, lags way more than mu oneplus 8 which i a huge turn off.

Don't expect long gaming sessions as it's not fit for that as of now.

Overall, I'm not happy, spent 350 usd extra and other than camera nothing feeling like worth the extra money i spent. I might shift the wagon to xperia series as i love their size and the OS is way more stable than oneplus as of now. Oneplus was the king of OS for me, but right now it's 😞.

I've held off updated my OnePlus 7 Pro to Android 11. Should I stick to my guns?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 01:21 PM PDT

So given the news about how God awful the Oxygen OS 11 update is, I have refrained from updating my phone.

Those of you who have, what are your thoughts, and do you think given the new hotfix it's worth giving it a shot?

Or shall I hold off and just stay happy using Oxygen OS 10?

I'm currently on my 7TPro with Oxygen OS 11.0.0.2.HD01BA and I'm experiencing many problems with loading my videos and pictures in the gallery app. I wanted to now if some of you also have these problems or if it's just me.

Brand new one plus 8t power button not working and phone not charging HELP NEEDED!

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 02:44 AM PDT

    Hey one plus community,

I've encountered a rather large problem with my new one plus 8t

I'm based in Ireland and bought the 8t 8gb ram 128gb memory, thought it was a good idea to upgrade from my one plus 6 that was still working perfect

After updating to the latest oxygen os, the lock button has stopped working , I've tried to check the gestures and buttons option but to no joy. The phone is now not charging? It had one full charge and after that full charge it seems to have lost a lot of functionality?

What are my options? Im just after factory resetting the phone now and waiting on the results but I'm thinking of contacting them for a replacement?

Any thoughts or feedback are welcome, Cheers

From Oneplus Nord to Oneplus 8T

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 11:10 AM PDT

This month I purchased the Oneplus Nord for 350€ on Warehouse, and it's new. Today I bought the Oneplus 8T for 417€ on Warehouse. They are both 8/128. I think the upgrade it's worth it, what do you think? Ps: I don't mind warehouse, if it's visible USED I will send it back, it's a bet for me lol EDIT: I also think that 8T is more "upgraded" with the charger with USB C to C, more battery and only one hole on the display for camera.

    OnePlus Buds Buzz

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 02:33 PM PDT

I haven't seen anything posted on this topic for a while. From the very start I noticed that when playing media at low volume there is a very noticable buzzing sound from the the right earbud, and upon stopping the media playback the buzzing goes away after 4 seconds every time. A less noticable defect is in the left earbud, which amplifies the sound of my heart in a wave/sand slushing sound.

Anybody found a fix? Does switching firmware help? I'm quite disappointed because otherwise they sound great, fit well and seem good.

One plus 7T pro only has speaker after update

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 08:22 AM PDT

This happened after the last major update. Now when I make a phone call, it is coming out of the bottom speaker only whether in speaker and handset mode. Alternating between them, switching between bluetooth and back does not resolve it. Any one have any suggestions or has experienced this too?

Is there an oxygen version limit for OnePlus 3

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 09:44 AM PDT

    Hi,

    I have a OnePlus 3 with Oxygen 9.0.6.

In software updates it says this is the latest version, but I know there are others.

Is 9.0.6 the latest version available on a OnePlus 3? If not how do I get it to download the latest compatible version?

I was hoping to get the screen recorder in version 9.5.

    OnePlus 9 swipe animation issues.

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 07:04 AM PDT

Got my OP9 two weeks ago and I've been getting really annoyed at how a lot of the swipe navigation (for lack of a better term) doesn't work. For instance on Google images, if I swipe down on an image to close it, doesn't work. Anyone else have this issue?

Need help with changing font style

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 08:33 AM PDT

So i recently updated my 7 Pro to Android 11 and I'm pretty happy with the experience except for the default font that the system boots with. To change this i headed to the customisation option in the settings and there were only two fonts available. From what i remember before the update there was an option to add/download new third party fonts from the settings itself but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I want to try out new fonts but don't how to get them running. Please help!

Android 11 update completely broke my OnePlus 7 Pro.

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 11:20 AM PDT

If the screen goes to sleep, the entire display shuts off until you reboot it. The entire phone still works, but you can't see anything because the screen is off. I have memorized where the restart buttons are because it happens so frequently. It comes with no warning. Sometimes it will be completely fine all day. I literally cannot lock my phone if I don't feel like navigating to the restart in the dark. If it's not this completely atrocious bug, sometimes the screen is zoomed into the top left corner permanently, yet the phone and all the apps hitboxes are working normally. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I am fuming. It's a used phone, so I have no warranty. It worked like a dream before this update. If I were to call support, they won't fix it for free. They can't even fix it anyway. So I have to wait for another update MONTHS down the line. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. GO TO HELL ONEPLUS.

Edit. It's a issue with the fingerprint scanner. It is the only UI element that does not appear to work when it shuts the screen off. I am hoping to see that disabling fingerprint fixes my issue. Ridiculous.

Google lens tap ans hold not working in camera after the android 11 update?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2021 08:52 PM PDT

Oneplus 7 pro had a tap and hold function to use google lens in the camera which came in quite handy to me but after the new update it doesn't work no more, instead they've provided a Google Lens icon in the camera app. I would very much like the old UI please. Is there any way I can change it to 'tap and hold' again?

Any good screen protectors for the OP 9 PRO 5G?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 09:58 AM PDT

Has anyone come across any good tempered glass screen protectors that have adhesive on the full glass panel rather than just the edges?

I bought that Qitayo brand on Amazon and it was horrible, I could feel the screen flexing under my fingers because it only had adhesive on the edges, it wouldn't read my fingerprints even after resetting them like 5 times, it had bad touch response in general and it must have been lifting or something because dust kept getting under somehow. It came with 2 panels and they both sucked.

If you do know of any, I would greatly appreciate a link.

The sandstone case for my 8T has gotten a bit dirty... Are there any methods to clean it? I don't wanna end up damaging it or discolouring it.

    Thanks in advance!

    Upgrading my Op 7Pro

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 01:01 AM PDT

I am planning to upgrade my phone but I am thinking about what the better option is right now. I see a very good discount on the 8Pro which I've seen is a pretty good phone. The 9 pro is a bit far from my budget. And don't know if the regular 9 is that much better than the 8 pro. I read you.

Upgrading from Galaxy S10 Lite to OP 8T/Pro?

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 09:30 AM PDT

    Hey reddit,

i bought the S10 Lite last year august, while being broke and needing a better phone. (my old exynos s8 lasted me 1-2h SoC)

Now, i saved up some money and want to upgrade to something more premium.

The upgrades i'm looking for the most:

    - build quality. The s10 has a plastic back, not a huge fan. You get used to it sure, but i definitely prefere glas and metal.

    - 120hz. Well, pretty self-explanatory.

    - Dual Stereo speakers, the S10 only has one single speaker.

    - another (upgraded) Snapdragon. While the jump from 855 to 865 is not huge, it is an upgrade. And you only get Exynos here where i live for the flagship models. (Not interested in the Galaxy S20 FE).

So, on paper i get all those things when upgrading. I don't really care about Oneplus's company politics, if i'm getting a great product.

The only doubt that i have? Leaving OneUI. Seriously.

OneUI 3.1 is such a refined piece of software, its unbelievable. Runs super smooth, lots of features and hugely polished. Very fast updates. Can Oxygen OS keep up with it?

While playing around with a OP8 last year, i noticed 2 things:

    - no brightness slider while pulling the notification bar down, always needed pulling down twice. Not a huge complaint, but kinda stupid.

    - *lag* while adjusting the brightness. On a Snapdragon 865 device. Kinda weird.

    Are those gone/fixed?

I would love to stick around with Samsung, but i really don't want to get another exynos phone.

    Thanks in advance!

OnePlus Buds Z - Uneven Battery Drain

    Posted: 29 Apr 2021 05:29 AM PDT

I bought a pair of Buds Z a few weeks ago, and I've noticed that the right bud is consistently getting drained quicker than the left. For example, the right is currently at 44% and the left is at 50%.

This is my first pair of wireless buds, so I don't know if this is normal, or whether I should ask to have them replaced.
