    IBuddy virus

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 06:34 AM PST

While downloading mods for a game I accidentally downloaded this virus. I've tried deleting the folder but it has app owner permissions. While trying to deny those permissions I accidentally took them away from myself. How can I either delete the application or restore my permissions to do so?

Mouse pointer constantly snaps to the top left corner of my screen at random

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 02:47 PM PST

I'm using a custom desktop running on windows 10 and ever since this morning i've had the issue and it's making it incredibly annoying to work. So far I've tried disconnecting the mouse, changing it, unchecking the snap to and the enhance pointer precision boxes, uninstalling the mouse's drivers and restarting the pc. None of it has worked so far and I have no idea what to try at this point so any help would be really appreciated.

    Source engine games stuttering/freezes randomly

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 08:40 AM PST

I have been having this problem for a while, and it only happens with source engine games, for example CS:GO, Team Fortress 2 and Titanfall 2. All games are played in full screen mode. I have already tried to verify my files integrity and updating my GPU drivers. My spec is as follow:

    i5-6500 3.2GHz

    GTX 1060 6GB

    16GB ram

    PC won’t boot.not sure why.

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 10:57 AM PST

My PC has been acting up for the past month or so. It would sometimes do this thing where when I tried to boot it up, it would turn on for about 2 seconds and then turn off. Then turn back on again and then turn off again. It would continue this cycle until I held the power button long enough to turn it off.

I thought this might be because of the ram so I changed my ram modules around (I have 3 x 8GB) and it would work. For a couple of days, then the same thing would happen again.

I eventually decided to buy new ram. I bought 2 x 8gb. I added on, and replaced one of the ram modules I already had in there to make 4 x 8GB. It worked fine for a day.

Today, I've tried to turn on my pc after a couple days of not using it and it's working fine. I decided to restart my pc to get into the BIOS to slow down one of my fans because it was going unnecessarily fast and being noisey. As I click on restart, a blue screen of death pops up with an error message saying 'ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY'.

My pc shuts down. I turn my pc on, it's turning on but it's doesn't seem to be making the same amount of noise as it usually does. There is no signal to my monitor. It either stays dormant like this until I hold the power button or it stays on for a few seconds, restarts and repeats until I hold the power button.

I'm not sure where to go from here. Does someone have any idea what it could be?

UPDATE: I turned off the switch on the back of my power supply and turned it back on. Booted up my pc and it's now gotten frozen and the loading screen with the dots spinning around and the blue windows logo (Windows 10)

UPDATE: restarted my PC, it did automatically repairs and has successfully booted. I got a notification saying that windows has undone updates due to start up failure. I clicked on the notification and it sent me to this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/startup-failure-we-removed-some-recently-installed-updates-4c2f7448-3483-8649-843c-1e80ed9f4a00

Problem with keyboard on Windows 10 entering multiple keys/opening programs.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 02:11 PM PST

Hi about an hour ago I was playing a game & suddenly I noticed my keys weren't right, more specifically just the row under the number keys "Tab - \". Not sure why it's just that row, I'm pretty sure I have sticky keys disabled.

For example whenever I press "Q" my camera opens, "W" opens GeForce Experience, "E" types in "3edc", "R" types in "4rfv", "T" types in "5tgb", "Y" types in "6yhn".

And it just keeps going like that all the way up to the backslash key. Again I'm not sure why it's just that row but any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

PC crashes then "no signal", I can only use it with the integrated graphic card

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:49 AM PST

EDIT: just fixed, I had to turn of the computer, remove the graphic card and remove the cmos battery, turn on the computer, wait 20 seconds or less, turn off the computer, put back the cmos battery and the graphic card, turn on the computer with the hdmi inserted in the graphic card and now all looks fine, maybe I did something stupid with the overclocking (even if I tought i resetted all settings back then)

Hello, I bought my computer a week ago and all was going just fine, just some blue screen crash but I didn't care a lot about it (stupid me). Yesterday, eventually, I was playing a game on Steam and then the game just crashed, I couldn't do anything and I force my computer to shut down. From then when I turn my computer on with the HDMI inserted in the graphic card the computer turns on but my monitor is black, any sound come from it and i can't do anything, even access the bios, but when i insert the hdmi on the motherboard I can use the computer without any problem, except I can only use my integrated graphic card. When I turn on the pc with the HDMI on my graphic card and then I switch to the integrated graphic card the computer doesn't work, I have to restart it with the HDMI already inserted in the motherboard. I tried to unistall nvidea drivers but when i try to install it again it give me a blue screen error that says: "Stop code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA; What failed: nviddmkm.sys". I tried to remove one stick of ram and put it back, reset bios settings from the bios menu, remove the graphic card and put it back, I have even tried to install driver with safe boot and I can install the driver with it but when i restart the computer it doesn't work even with the HDMI inserte in the integrated graphic card. I really don't know what to do. Have you any idea?

    My specs:CPU: i5-8500 3.0GHz

    GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

    Motherboard: h310m-r r2.0

    PSU: 500 Watt CSL, 82 % Effizienz

    pertistbri.fun Using Safari?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 01:16 PM PST

Hi everyone--I've felt like my battery life has been pretty short and when I checked energy usage and screen time, one thing that was using a significant amount of time is something called "pertistbri.fun". I'm not sure what this is--one search result describes it as something that targets extensions. No other sites come up.

Honey is the only extension I have at the moment. Going to try uninstalling and reinstalling. I'm not navigating to the url, but it seem that if I were to type it, it automatically erases.

    What's the best option here?

EDIT: From what I can see on urlscan.io, it looks to be some sort of Amazon subdomain. I know I was watching a movie on Amazon Prime Video last night, so I'm wondering if that's it. Still odd that it prevents me from typing the url.

Internet gets disconnected every few minutes

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 01:37 AM PST

My laptop gets diconnected from the WiFi every few minutes and I have no idea how to solve this problem. This only occurs on my laptop and my iPad mini. The phones and and my gf's notebook's connections work fine without interruption. This started abruptly couple of weeks ago without any warning.

Monitor Cuts Out Until I Restart.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 07:56 AM PST

Have an almost 2 year old desktop that my buddy helped me build for my first PC.

It has an i7, 32gb ram, Nvidia 1660, connecting to a HP 27 in 144hz monitor. (3 month old)

I have all the nvidia drivers and windows update installed.

Today, I disconnected the power and DisplayPort from my monitor to wipe down my desk, desktop is also on desk.

It was only disconnected 3-4 minutes then reconnected and had no problems until 5 minutes later when the display cut out. The desktop was not moved our touch during the desk wipe down

I could hear notifications from discord and my game audio, so the system was running just no display. A restart will bring the monitor back, but cut out 2-10 minutes later

The Card only has 1 HDMI and 1 DP, motherboard only has one DVI ( don't have display with dvi connection)

I did the following to troubleshoot, Factory reset monitor, change to HDMI, power cycle monitor and desktop (pull power out) and I got to the point where a restart would not bring the monitor back after a restart, just no signal after restart.

Tried another known good monitor via DP and didn't work. Then tried that same monitor via HDMI and now the system display is stable. But cannot get signal via DP on second monitor and neither DP or HDMI on the original monitor.

Since the problem happened all of a sudden after delicately disconnecting the monitor, only other thing I can think of to do is to Reseat Graphics Card?

    Any thoughts welcome!!!!

    What is winlogui

    Posted: 27 Feb 2021 09:26 PM PST

I've had the weird file on my computer that's called winlogui and whenever its operating its like my computer is running a high end game or rendering a video. So whenever its operating I just end from task manager. Is this a virus or something windows related?
