Why are a lot of uninstallation executables named unins0000.exe? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 11:52 AM PST Seemingly every single uninstallation executable has the name unins0000.exe. Is there a reason for this? [link] [comments]

How do I get rid of folders that “are open in another program? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 05:00 PM PST I downloaded and installed some programs in two folders, after I didn't need them anymore, I wanted to delete those two folders. However, whenever I try to delete them, it says how they're open in another program (doesn't even say which program). I tried restarting the PC, using the command box, Unlocker, resmon.exe, and none of these things helped. Is there an effective way I can force delete these folders, or kill their processes in other programs? How can I discover where are they being used so I can end that specific task? I'm on Windows 10 Home edition, version 20H2, OS build 19042.685. [link] [comments]
Windows 10 Customization Tool? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 12:25 PM PST Hey all. I've wanted to customize windows for a while but never got around to it. Today I decided to start doing some research on different windows customization programs but didn't find much of what I was looking for. I'm looking for more advanced software that allows in-depth customization of the OS. I've been a hobbyist programmer for the last 5 years so there's not a lot of limitation. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks all! [link] [comments]

Gave pc away, somehow windows 10 digital licence is still on it Posted: 11 Jan 2021 03:22 PM PST Gave my pc away. The only new parts in it is the ssd, psu and the case. Before I gave it away I did the slmgr upk/cpky to deactivate windows. When the pc was turned on for the first time (did not log into a Microsoft account) it also said 'your hardware settings have changed. Please reboot your computer for these changes to take effect!! '. None of my storage devices are on this new pc but the person i gave my pc to still has a windows digital licence. It is a retail version of Windows as well. I don't know how this pc still has a digital licence. Any idea? I just did a clean install on his computer again and it still has a windows digital license somehow. If I remove the key with slmgr upk and slmgr cpky, and click troubleshoot under 'activate windows now' it just finds the licence again. I think oem licences are saved on the motherboard, but mine is not an oem licence. [link] [comments]

How do I change the boot screen in Windows 3.1? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 09:52 AM PST I want to change the Windows 3.1 boot screen but i don't know where the file is located or what it is called. Posted: 11 Jan 2021 01:32 PM PST I just realised when I tried to download something from Microsoft store that I got an error that said that windows update is deactivated. I don't know how long this has lasted but i just realised. When I tried to go into settings and update I just saw a black screen that was just loading without any progress. I have done a bit research and I went into my services and found out that my "windows update" was deactivated and when I tried to activate it and run it I just got an error 1058. I have tried to install updates manually from the web but I just get errors saying I'm missing a file. The last thing I've done was to try to download windows 10 on my pc but that gave me an error too. I tried recovering my pc to earlier state but my school onedrive gave me errors so I couldn't do that either. I probably think my last choice is to hard reset my pc but I don't want to lose all my files. Hope anyone has any idea on what I can do, I have tried like every guide and video about this topic but nothing seems to work. I have a Windows 10 "1909" version AMD Ryzen 5 2600X six-Core processor 3,60 GHz 24 Gig RAM NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB [link] [comments]

Just updated windows, now tablet area feels twice as big, or like a mouse rather than tablet. Posted: 11 Jan 2021 11:25 AM PST I updated my windows 10 from 1903 to 20H1, but it completely messed up my tablet. The settings in the driver are the same, but it feels so slow, like the area is way bigger than it's supposed to be, or it acts like a mouse instead of a tablet. How do I fix this?
