Posted: 30 Jan 2021 01:46 PM PST I have a few suggestions to my college friends who will buy laptops for office applications, netflix, youtube, zoom, lightroom, cs6 during the online class period. First of all, the current market is unfortunately bad with flight prices, the laptop that was 3000-3500 TL in June is currently in the 5000-6000 band, so I'm sorry if you buy it now. First rule: The laptop you will buy should have ips screen, panel, because the laptop you will use is not for gaming, but for office, education, movies. When watching movies on panel displays, you will need to move the laptop screen constantly and adjust the angle and brightness, so the ips screen is the first condition, whatever the case, you would prefer a laptop with an ips screen. The second rule: ram, the laptop you will buy must be 8 GB or more, we do not prefer 4 GB laptops for sale in 2020, the system has already eaten between 1-2 GB of RAM to feed the graphics card. and you have 6 gb, but enough already. Another rule is that the laptop has an increased ram slot, which is very important because if you want to add 4 and 8 gb ram in the future, you will do it with this slot. We stay away from laptops that don't have an extra ram slot and are under 8 GB. third rule: processor, not mandatory, but with the inclusion of ryzen processors in laptops, I definitely want laptops with ryzen processors to be preferred, believe me you will thank me after a few years. We stay away from processors called pentium, athlon, celeron. You will buy Intel i5 and 10th generation. My advice is in this direction. fourth rule: ssd, I don't want it anymore, but I still see laptops without ssd sold on shopping sites and sorry, if you try to buy a system without ssd, we will lose a lot in the future, ssd is now mandatory, you should definitely use it especially for online training Notice if there is an ssd slot so we can add it when we need it. fifth rule: our screen will be any type of 1920x1080, our screen will not be smaller than 15.6 inches and will necessarily be full hd. sixth rule, research the seller of the laptop you will buy, how is the customer service, is there a free maintenance service, how long is the warranty period ... By filtering these substances, you can easily find the laptop you need to research. [link] [comments]

Help me find a matching motherboard video cable Posted: 30 Jan 2021 01:55 PM PST I have a MSI GL62 6QD motherboard in a MSI GE72VR 6RF Apache Pro case. It fits perfectly, the only problem I got is finding a cable that's long enough and fits both motherboard and monitor components. I bought a laptop monitor (Model: N173HCE-E31 Rev. C5) that fits the GE72 monitor case and fits with the motherboard EDP connector. I checked the monitor data sheets of the GE72 & GL62 model, they're basically the same. I bought a video cable off eBay for a MSI Gl62 monitor. It fits and works perfectly. My problem is it's too short. The EDP connector on the MSI GL62 seems to be on the right side of the monitor. The EDP connector on the MSI GE72 seems to be on the left side of the monitor. Here are the details: N173HCE-E31 Rev. C5 30 Pin (datasheet) MSI GL62 6QD motherboard (50 pin connector) Cable that works, but too short: MS16j6 video cable Can anyone help me find a video cable that is both compatible and fits the length? Posted: 30 Jan 2021 01:19 PM PST I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm on a tight budget but reallly need a fast laptop for my work. The one I currently have runs Intel Pentium processor and it freezes and lags every five minutes. I work a lot with google docs/slides, a lot of video call meeting on google meets, I watch a lot of Netflix etc. Can anyone please recommend a fast, smooth laptop with a reasonable budget. Is intel i3 good enough for these? Please help. I am from India btw and my budget is below 40,000 rupees. [link] [comments]
Looking for a $1000 to $1500 laptop for work and play Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:27 AM PST Hello fine folks here, I am in the market for a new laptop but I have not purchased anything since my 10 year old 15 XPS Dell. I am out of touch with what is "good" and what too spend money on for upgrades. I am hoping some of you wonderful folks can help educate me. Thanks! I am looking to spend at least $1000 and up to $1500 for the right machine. It will be used mainly for work so I would like a 15 inch screen at minimum. I do have dreams of trying some gaming if life offers some free time. Thanks again for any and all advice :) [link] [comments]
Help me pick a laptop b/w the two choices Posted: 30 Jan 2021 01:04 PM PST I'm planning to purchase a gaming laptop for my younger brother who just got into college. Usage: Playing Games like Valorant, Warzone, CSGO, Occasionally GTA. Choices are : Choice 1: MSI GF65 Thin Core i5 9th Gen - (16 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/6 GB Graphics/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti) GF65 Thin 9SD-890IN Gaming Laptop Choice 2: Acer Predator Triton 300 Core i5 10th Gen - (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti/144 Hz) PT315-52 Gaming Laptop My analysis: 1. MSI GF65 has i5 9th gen compared to Acer 10th gen 2. Build quality and thermals of acer look better, also battery wise acer has better performance. 3. But Msi has 1660ti compared to 1650ti of acer. 4. Also 16 GB ram in MSI Compared to Acers 8gb, but minor only, we can add a 8 GB stick later. 5. MSI after sales service is poor compared to Acer (Not sure but have read about this on some Reddit posts). 6. Screen quality of acer is far better than MSI. (SRGB, Both are 144Hz Panels) It would be great if someone can please help in this regard. Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Why I should or should not buy Apple Care for M1 Macbook Air? Posted: 30 Jan 2021 11:22 AM PST I am looking to buy Macbook Air with M1 chips. Currently I own Dell Inspiron 5570 (15 inch) bought in January 2018 and have not dropped it, battery is still good, no damage to the screen and didn't had the need to take it to a service center. So looking at my past experience will Dell, should I buy apple care? Please consider that apple care is roughly 20% of the price of macbook in India. [link] [comments]

Basic specs for an everyday laptop? Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:30 AM PST Hello! I already have a good desktop computer, but I'm looking for a laptop that's easy to carry around the house to video stream anywhere. Here's what I plan to do with it: - watch lots of YouTube, always on full screen - watch Netflix - stream anime / movies What would be the basic specs requirements to have on my laptop? I want it to be fast, not buggy, and mostly last as long as possible. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Dell (or other pc) or macbook air Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:28 AM PST Hello! I have apple phone and ipad but have always used PC's. My experience with my low end PC's is that they don't last very long before they start slowing down. So right now I am looking into either macbook air with teacher's discount and 512 memory, or a PC with at least i5, 8 RAM and ideally 512 memory. At this point the price difference is not that big between the two but apple seems more expensive with all the add ons and converters and extras I need to buy (external CD drive, external hard drive etc). I am not a gamer. I am used to a PC but just want something that is reliable and will last long. Dell Inspiron is one I have my eye on. Any thoughts between Dell and MacBook Air (or other PC's)? I use it for writing papers, internet browsing, and maybe zoom and also for storing some photos. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Traveling video editing laptop, standard around 1080p Posted: 30 Jan 2021 09:01 AM PST LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE** Total budget is £1000 as I don't want something too expensive that will be a big hit if stolen
I am open to refurbishments but in general I'm looking for new
Highest priority would be performance, the laptop would need it be fairly long lasting to edit videos and such on a plane or coach, form factor isn't important but white or silver is a bonus
It wants to be as small as possible due to weigh varying it and such but I'm open to look at everything
Preferably around 14" or ultrabook size
This is for use with lightroom, Photoshop, and premier
Preferably no optical drive as it takes up space that could be utilised, good color accuracy on the screen and possibly usb type c [link] [comments]
