What are some good simplistic games? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:33 PM PST I find an RPG. i try it. It has 4 currencies, 2 control sticks, 8 menu buttons, 20 tabs within each, 3 shops, 11 skill slots, 2 card slots, 5 meters for health, hunger, mana, etc., A crafting menu, a brewing menu, a hero upgrade system, a hero skill system, a hero recruitment system, a hero levelling system, 28 hero slots, a huge text bubble with useless tips, a clock, a moon phase chart, a calendar, a map, a compass, 200 pages of inventory, 5 icons about events currently going on, a huge banner for the alliance menu, a- Well, you get the point. I can barely see the screen anymore. The tutorial lasts either 2 seconds or 2 hours. What are some really simplistic games which have a bit of depth to them and aren't pure arcade? Can someone recommend ad-free, kid-friendly transportation games? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 02:40 PM PST I have a 5 year old, almost 6, and he loves playing truck, bus, fire truck, and garbage truck simulator games. The issue is they're all very predatory with the ads or pay to play. You can't do anything without watching an ad. And they're low effort games (from the developer side). For one, I don't want my kids accustomed to add being a part of everyday life. Not like this. It's appalling. It's infuriating. And I don't want him to think it's ok for these tactics to exist. Thanks. Edit: Thanks for all of the suggestions. Many are great and I appreciate every attempt to help. However, I feel I should clarify what my son likes. And that's mindless driving games with vehicle customizations. Except not racing, but more work related. Like driving a bus and transporting passengers. Not from an isometric view, but first person or 3rd person in 3d. He has downloaded these mobile games and they're all identical - one for bus driving, another driving a fire truck, a garbage truck, semi-trucks, etc. We put a stop to him downloading, but it's extremely difficult to transition him off of these. Hoping there's a less predatory alternative to at least one of these. [link] [comments]
QuizUp is being shut down March 22. What's another good quiz game? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 04:25 PM PST I just saw it announced while playing. I only just started playing it and I've enjoyed testing my knowledge against other players. Is there anything similar? [link] [comments]

Closest game to rimworld/dwarf fortress? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 07:21 AM PST I'm trying to find a decent colony management game for android. [link] [comments]
Multiplayer games for me and mom? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 07:03 PM PST I'm looking for multiplayer games i can play with my mom. Preferably the kind you can take your turn and leave the game and come back when you have the time. We both work opposite days so games that you have to play through in one sitting are not ideal. I really dislike games with ads that have nothing to do with the actual game Posted: 21 Jan 2021 05:37 AM PST When i scroll through the play store looking for a decent game or get an ad while playing one, i sometimes see really cool ads which makes me wanna try the game out and see if i like it. Then i go into the game and see that the ads had nothing to do with how the game actually looks like or plays out. Why are they doing this? Why are they showing gameplay from the game only for you to go in and it's nothing like it? In case you don't know what i am talking about i'll give an example. Imagine you see an ad for lets say Fortnite and in the ad it's showing how the game actually plays out right now, then you download the game, go in and see it plays out like a League of Legends platformer. I used those 2 big games because they are very popular so chances are you know them and if you do then you know how completely different they are from each other. This is exactly what i am talking about for the ads. If i find that a game has nothing to do with the ad then i will uninstall and never try it again, even if it's a decent game i will just refuse because of the way they try to bring you in which i find extremely annoying. Is it too much to ask for ads to show actual gameplay? And i am not talking about the promotional over the top videos every game has, i am talking about how they show you how it plays and then it's nothing like that. [link] [comments]

Xbox One Elite Series 2 issues Posted: 21 Jan 2021 10:57 AM PST (originally posted to r/xbox) IDK if this is the right sub to ask on, feel free to direct me to a different sub that would better assist me. In essence, I love using my Elite Series 2, I use it on my PC without issues, both over bluetooth and USB, but on my Android phone (OnePlus 7 Pro, Android 10), whenever I connect it over bluetooth, it recognizes it as a keyboard, and when playing CoD mobile, it drops out and reconnects about once every 10-30 seconds and takes about 5 seconds to reconnect. For a fast paced game like CoD, you can see why this is an issue. Also, since it's recognized as a controller, I can't swap to Discord and message anybody because it prevents me from using my native keyboard. Anybody else have this problem? Any solutions? Thank you for any replies, I appreciate them. (P.S. Will probably X-post or copy/paste this to an Android or OnePlus subreddit to see if there's any answers over there as well.) Portable controls that work on both Android and PC? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 11:28 AM PST Tldr: Small pocketable controllers that work on steam and android for mobile parsec. I've recently gotten parsec on my phone, and I'm pretty happy with it. My only issue right now is that, there's no portable controllers. I know that android has a vast amount of controls that are somewhat portable or attach to the device. But I was wondering if there was something like that, that works with steam or is treated as a 360 controller. I really want something I could just throw in my pocket. [link] [comments]
[REQUEST] Games which allow the player to alter the game itself Posted: 21 Jan 2021 10:36 AM PST Any way, really. Best would be one where you upgrade the actual game itself as you go. Examples are the "upgrade the game" series and the original "evoland". Basically you start in a situation where the game looks like something from the original game boy, and by the end you've got a 3d engine and 4k graphics. Another way would be to have multiple areas play in different game styles, like in "evoland 2". It should however alter the entire thing, not just the graphics. Finally, I would prefer if it is not an incremental (idle) game. But that's low priority. Best would be something similar to the old Zelda games (e.g. evoland 2) or straight up switching between all kinds of different game types. [link] [comments]
Looking for a game that doesn't seem to be on the app store anymore Posted: 21 Jan 2021 09:45 AM PST Genre: RPGish Release: not sure but I think I played it around 2014/15 Art: a sort of Japanese influenced art with fairly good graphics. The game was 2d. Character: you play as some stereotypical looking vampire but you could change the skin Mechanics: In some levels you had to either destroy a crystal at one end while protecting your own or survive a certain amount of time against a bunch of enemies. You could also choose what items/armour you wanted to equip as well as skills and monsters to fight for your side. [link] [comments]

[REQUEST] Games to play while walking Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:01 AM PST I take my daughter out every morning in the buggy/pram for air and exercise and im looking for one handed semi idle games to play while walking. I've played Pokemon Go to death (til they started drip feeding content). I've put time into ingress but the back and forth seems pointless which I guess means I preferred the collection aspect of PoGo rather then the gyms and battles. Im aware of Resources, Landlord, Turf Wars etc but they all feel a bit too much like paying the bills for my liking - as well as the Ingress turf apathy. I guess the games don't have to be location based but they kind of seemed closest to what I wanted. Im looking into idle games but im not 100% on whether thats what im after. Ive also tried Orna, Run Zombies, Our World, but there's something not quite hitting the mark. I reckon im looking for something that I can look in on every couple of minutes while its grinding away. So if anyone has any hidden gems they can recommend Id appreciate it. I know im being picky, so if anyone wants to tell me I've kind of cleared that particular niche, Id probably accept that. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
