    Volume Button fell off?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 09:35 PM PST

    OnePlus 7 Pro.

I think it's quite a big disappointment on how I've only had this device for a year and a half and the volume rocker just seems to have fallen off. I didn't drop it.

All I'm left with is the broken ends on my phone and I'm unable to adjust my volume at all unless I do it through the settings app.

If anyone has any experience with this, please message me

I guess I should have never settled.

OnePlus 8Pro barely usable after Update

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 09:25 AM PST

Hey, I don't know if this is the right place, but I hope one of you can help me out. I own the OnePlus 8Pro 128 since May and I have been completely happy with the device, as I have been with my OP6 before that.

But a few weeks ago after an Update my phone started to have software bugs all the time. A few Days later there was a fix which solved some of the problems, but not all of them. I am currently on Oxygen OS 11.0.2.2.IN11BA.

My main problems are: - differnet apps not responding after using them for a few minutes (especially Reddit and Instagram) (not everyone, but very often) - not being able to unlock my phone multiple times in the day - System UI not responding When one of these happens, the phone is completely unresponsive and I can do absolutely nothing. I cannot close the app or lock the phone. It always takes a few minutes untill I can use my phone again. This makes my phone barely Isabel and it drives my nuts.

Has anyone of you had or have the same problem and knows a solution? I would be extremely happy.

[OP7T] Could not text or call (I'm on Tmobile) until I removed the magnet I use to attach device to car phone holder

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 02:54 PM PST

Got a OP7T T-mobile version, a few weeks ago. I put on a magnet on the back of my phone, inside my phonecase. For a couple of weeks, I have been mostly unable to text or call others. Messages would fail to send and when I tried calling people, it would say "Mobile network is not available. Connect to a wireless network to make a call". I tried restarting my phone countless times and turning on/off airplane mode. Nothing really worked. Now I tried removing the magnet on the back and texting/calling seems to be working.

Is the magnet the reason for causing my phone network issues?

Trade-in S9+ for OnePlus 8T+ 5G. Good idea? bad idea?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 05:24 AM PST

I currently have a Samsung S9+, and T-Mobile has a trade-in offer where you can get a OnePlus 8T+ 5G for free after trade-in of S9 series (and other devices). I normally stick with Samsung, but lately I have considered getting a Pixel phone (so I get the updates faster directly from Google).

Bottom line, I was thinking about trading my S9+ (fully paid off) for a OnePlus 8T+ 5G. I get a faster phone for free, really the only thing I lose is wireless charging and Samsung software. If I like the OnePlus, I can just keep it for years - free. If I don't like it, I should be able to just buy another phone like a Pixel and move the SIM over. From what I understand, I will still get my bill credits (to make the OnePlus "free") since the line itself was never cancelled I just activated a different phone on that line.

Anything else I need to consider? Issues with the phone or other problems with this idea?

(8 pro) Are these display issues common or is my device defective?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 03:04 PM PST

    Hello,

I bought a OnePlus 8 pro a few weeks ago and have been having the following problems with the display.

    • The display randomly turns a bit yellow, as if comfort tone is turned on, even though comfort tone is completely disabled (I don't even have it scheduled for any time). The screen goes back to normal when I navigate to another activity. Like if I minimize the app and then start resume it.
    • The display suddenly dims at random times, but the brightness slider does not change. I do not have adaptive brightness enabled. When I turn the screen off and on again, the brightness goes back to normal.
    • The screen does not always rotate when I rotate the phone. Sometimes if I rotate my phone to have it in landscape mode, the display remains in portrait mode (the opposite is also true). I have to then try again for it to rotate by rerotating the device.
    • Sometimes touching is not accurate. Sometimes the wrong place is triggered, even though I touched another place. This becomes really annoying when typing. The thing is, it does not happen very often, but it happens often enough to be annoying and unpredictable. I have already made some errors like accidentally sending an incomplete message because the enter button was triggered on the keyboard, even though I had not even touched it.

I previously had a OnePlus 5, which I got on the day of release in 2017 and it was the best phone I have ever used in my entire life and did not have any issues at all.

I was SO excited to get a new oneplus phone and thought the cost would be worth it, since I saw it as an investment for the future, seeing as my OP5 lasted for very long, and is still in good condition today.

I am wondering: is anyone else experiencing these problems? Is it a software problem or do I have a defective device?

I have been experiencing these issues since the day I took the device out of the box.

I tried factory resetting but that did not help at all.

Thank you for any and all answers! :)

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:19 AM PST

Hey all, I am looking to buy OnePlus 7T Pro in India, a few questions i would like to ask 1. Does the Oneplus 7t pro have call recording feature or is it same as Google dialer 2. Is there a display issue with the device 3. What is the battery backup and screen on time.

Thanks in advance I don't like one plus 8 series as it does not fulfill my requirements

    OnePlus worth the savings?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 01:49 PM PST

I have a galaxy S8+ that's got a cracked screen and has started to become sluggish. I wanted to root it and install custom OS, only to find out that won't be happening.

I bought a used 7 Pro, since it had the closest specs to the S8+ (even an upgrade on paper).

I immediately discovered my first problem: no charging indicator or notification light? Ok.. But since then I've had random stutters/freezes when browsing websites. I tried to have a conversation on speakerphone and everyone had complained they can't keep a conversation because they can hear themselves when they talk.

So I've got a phone that people can't talk to me on, stutters/struggles to browse chrome, etc. On paper, it's more RAM, more powerful processor, etc, but it somehow does worse? The camera is maybe the only thing that's been an actual performance improvement, not just better on paper over the S8+

I feel like I should return the 7 pro. I considered buying an 8 Pro, but this forum is full of bug complaints etc. But I wanted to see if it was worth giving OnePlus a chance or if my experience with 7 pro is indicative of all OnePlus phones?

    Anyone having screen issues?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 01:46 PM PST

I started in the oneplus world last year with the oneplus 7T, it was a great phone, I really loved it, unfortunately I had to downgrade from it because of the global situation, and how it impacted my line of work. So I got a 6T and some money with it, after some hours of using the 6T I noticed that there was some screen burning in the notification area, the battery, signal, wifi, and time icons were burned into the screen forever.

Then I noticed that the reddit app and any other dark gray app allowed me to see that the screen wasn't uniform when it came to colors, specifically gray, I realized that the left part of the screen seemed a little more red-ish, and the right part of looked more green-ish, at first I didn't care too much, but then it started to drive me crazy, since I used all of my apps in night mode all the time.

I was tired of these issues and I finally decided to sell it, buy an 8T and get rid of those problems... Wrong.

The 8T has the exact same issues going on... I understood the screen burning in the 6T since it was at least a 2 year old phone, but this one is brand new and I can already see some burning from the notifications. It's only noticeable on dark gray backgrounds but I'm worried it would get as bad as the 6T over time.

The thing is, I'm in Mexico, there's no oneplus in here, so I got the phone from a guy who ordered it from China, so...

What can I do to apply for warranty, it's obviously a defective screen, right? Does anyone else have this issue on their oneplus phone?

TL;DR Oneplus 8T screen burning on notification area icons and uneven screen colors on dark gray backgrounds, looks greener on the right side and redder on the left side

    Coming from pixel

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 08:19 AM PST

    Coming from pixel3.

One thing that irks me so far is the lock screen. I want to see the weather / temp and the signal strength on the ambient screen.

Also the background home screen I want to see the weather / temp like it was displayed on pixel.

Other than that so far so good

[TIFU] by accidently factory resetting my OnePlus

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 11:47 AM PST

As the OP8 bas become quite slow after upgrading to Android 11 I wanted to wipe my cache. Since when does one reset the phone by booting the device while holding the volume down button? So instead of going to recovery I was greeted by a nice message to not reboot while my device was reset. I couldn't quite believe it. But here I am, trying to restore all my stuff.

Is this screen edge normal on a 7T?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:54 AM PST

SO I bought a used Oneplus 7T. It looks like new, works 100% as far as I can tell. But I've noticed two odd issues. One is that the logos on the back are just a little off, as in they aren't quite straight. The main issue is that I can't tell if there is a really well applied tempered glass screen protector applied. It does appear as if there is a slight edge which makes me think there is one applied. But I've also noticed in the top right corner you can see a slight chip almost just at the edge. I don't know if this is normal. Can anyone with a 7T advise?

Slow Load Times on Apps for OnePlus 8t on Wi-Fi

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 08:45 AM PST

I've been having some issues with long loading times when opening apps on my OnePlus 8T. It doesn't seem to happen with anyone else's devices on the same Wi-Fi network, and I've also tried to reset network connections on my device. Any thoughts?

Anyone know any cheap usb c earbuds?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2020 08:22 PM PST

I keep loosing my wireless earbuds and I just want to get a few pairs of earbuds so I can listen to music. I just lost my OnePlus bullets wireless and I'm sick of paying for new earbuds if I'll loose them 12 seconds later. Anyone know where the best value is? Planning on buying 2 or so, I'll need an adapter for aux earbuds.

Data and WiFi not working accurately in regards to downloading media.

    Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:55 AM PST

I have a OnePlus 7t. I'm almost always on WiFi. However after I've switched to data, and then back to WiFi, (WiFi on, data off), I'm asked if I want to use data to download media. When I switch to data after that (data on WiFi off), it downloads all media without asking me.

I've only seen this with the Messenger app. I haven't checked other apps.

Is there a way to fix this, or reset some settings?
