Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:45 AM PST I got a new phone and wanted to download some stuff, however if I try to download something this pops up and I don't know how to get it back to normal, although it should already be default. If it matters it's on a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, it happens on every App I try for the exception of Google Drive Edit: I found the reason, it seems that it's about the apps I used being not yet working with this version of Android, Chrome seems to work [link] [comments] |
Broke my Galaxy S9 screen; need help mirroring it Posted: 30 Dec 2020 01:29 PM PST My Galaxy S9 was ran over multiple times today(yay it fell into traffic). The phone still works. I am getting notifications and can feel it vibrate. I can use the touch screen(at least enough to unlock it), but cannot see anything as the screen will not turn on. What are my options here? Device changes the date by itself to 2021 Posted: 30 Dec 2020 09:57 PM PST Hello guys, So I've had this phone for 3+ years, it's a rooted Samsung Galaxy A10 with the latest Magisk version installed. I've never had this problem with it until a couple of days ago when I installed GBWhatsApp Pro from AlexMods(dot)com. The device changes the date to +1 year. So that today would be 31 Dec 2021 Yesterday it changed it to 30 Dec 2021 and so on. And WiFi nor anything works until I manually change the year back to 2020. I tried uninstalling that app but still the same problem persists. Maybe there's a way for me to see what is causing it to change or maybe you guys know the fix. Thank you to anyone who helps! Happy New Year! [link] [comments] |

My custom font isn't recognizing special characters, how do I return to the default font? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 08:32 PM PST I'm using Revenge OS (Android 11) on a Moto G7 Power, and a few weeks ago I decided to customize my Android font, which was a mistake. Now, some special characters aren't showing in the correct way. I couldn't find in the internet a hint of what should I do to restore my phone's font to the default one. Could someone help me, please? PS: My Android native language is Brazilian Portuguese. Here's an example of the problem. [link] [comments] |

Notifications don't show number? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 07:30 PM PST Hi, I have a Samsung galaxy 9 and for some reason if I swipe away a notification from the top bar the app doesn't show the number symbol showing I have unread messages or other types of notifications like full energy in a game. Is there some setting to do this? My old galaxy let me do it until I got an update. Was this feature permanently removed? [link] [comments] |
Moving Games to microSD. What am I doing wrong? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 07:10 PM PST Been an iPhone 5 (12 GB) user for a very long time. Just upgraded this Christmas to a Samsung Galaxy S9+ (64 GB) for Christmas. I'm more familiar with computers than I am with mobile devices. I have put a 250 GB microSD card into the phone, and I have downloaded many, many games. I plan to use it as an alternative to portable gaming like Nintendo's Switch. However, when I go into the settings to "push" the games from Internal Storage to External Storage, I don't see the dramatic change that I'm expecting. My phone's Internal Storage is still gasping for air. I only have 10 GB left. What am I doing wrong? Clearly there's something about Android that I don't know! I have a very fast read/write speed for my microSD card, and I'd like to see my games installed there and nothing touching Internal Storage. I'm not afraid of heavy reading. If there's a Wiki or HowTo that I need to read, I'm ready for it. Whatever I can do to get my desired result, I'm willing to do what it takes. Can you help me? [link] [comments] |
What the hell is taking up so much space on my Galaxy S7 Edge? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 04:11 AM PST So according to the screenshot I took of my phone, out of 32GB, I have used around 16.1GB of space. What the hell is taking up the other half of my storage space? I understand that a lot of space is taken up by the system itself, but 16GB??? Is it an "empty my cache" issue? Does the cache of any app count towards the total app storage value? What the hell is going on? Please help! [link] [comments] |
Unable To Log Into Profile (Until I Restarted) - Pin Login Process Wouldn't Complete Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:21 PM PST I saw that this is an issue and it's the first time I've experienced it. My device has multiple profiles set up and I'll switch between them frequently. For some reason, I was unable to enter in one of my profiles. I'd enter my pin, press the check mark, and nothing happens. After no activity, the display turns off (normal lock screen event). I noticed that after I press the check mark, the touch animation doesn't occur again. I can still switch to other profiles, but can't log into them either. Looking at logcat, I saw:
That would show the same (except for the time) for any profile. Something made me look into "vendor.qti.hardware.perf@1.0-service", but nothing came of it. While playing the the Activity Manager in the console, I ended up using the "restart" command for "am" and it ended up doing a full system reboot. I expected it would keep the system up while just restarting the userspace as it's described. Once my system booted back up, I was able to log into my profile without any issues. I had an uptime of 65 days until this point. While my issue was resolved by restarting my device, I'd prefer to find the cause and deal with it manually with adb instead. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Dec 2020 05:56 PM PST Hello I have had 64gb SD card for 4 years, it spanned across 2 devices (current is huawei y9prime2019) The issue happened today : after mounting sd card (or rebooting device) , i can access my sd card files for about 1 minute. Then the file manager says the sd card is blank. Other apps like gallery or music can't use the files afterwards either I tried : cleaning sd card with q tip and downloaded anti virus for phone. Antivirus says device is fine but doesn't have enough time to check sd card, it gives error after a minute or less. No access to PC at the moment. Is it a virus of some sort? Any help is appreciated [link] [comments] |
Need help. I clicked on a suspicious link. Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:24 AM PST I got a text message from a random phone number saying that the sender took my baggage home since I wasn't available at the time and sent me a link to confirm it. I instinctively clicked on the link thinking it might be related to work. It redirected me to an unsecure website then asked if I should begin downloading a file that might harm my device. I realized that it might be some kind of malware as I have no recollection leaving anything so I immediately pressed cancel and exited out of the site. I wanna know if there's a possibility that my phone has been compromised. I also wanna know if it's safe to reply to ask the identity of the sender. P.S. Sorry if I sound stupid, I'm not knowledgeable about this kind of stuff. I already did an antivirus scan and it says there's no problem but I've heard mobile antivirus are useless so I'm asking just to be sure. [link] [comments] |
Audio message file: Help me understand. Posted: 30 Dec 2020 05:16 PM PST I need some advice on how audio messages work because I'm a little paranoid right now (pretty standard for me though). I was looking through My Files and noticed an audio file saved in the audio folder named "Audio message_Dave 001". I tried playing it but it was a 0 second file and the audio player briefly popped up and closed. I then noticed it was 34 bytes in size. I do have a contact called Dave and he has sent me audio messages in the past, though none of them show up in messages. What I want to know is, was this file a remnant of an audio message that just didn't get deleted? I'm reasonably sure I've not had a spam SMS with an attachment but with the way my brain works I can't be completely sure. [link] [comments] |
Any alternative to Rocket Player/iSyncr for syncing with iTunes? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 04:20 PM PST Edit: actually doesn't have to be with iTunes specifically, I'm thinking of migrating to another desktop player altogether Been using this combo for awhile but I often have trouble with it. Just wondering if there's alternatives. I'm a bit of a sucker for my play count history if I'm being honest. I'll keep trouble shooting RP/iSyncr but would like to try something else as well. Specialized notification options Posted: 30 Dec 2020 04:04 PM PST I'm trying to figure out the best way to customization my notifications. Here's what I want: 1) When screen is on -- no sounds or vibration 2) When screen is off: a) Sound only for my wife b) Vibration only for everyone else Is this granularity possible? Suddenly getting a notification alert any time I wake up my phone. Posted: 30 Dec 2020 09:32 AM PST Started randomly a few days ago, without updating the OS or anything. If I unlock my phone or tap the screen when it goes dark, I get a notification alert - sound or vibration, depending on setting. No graphic notification accompanies it, only the alert. If I go to notifications and 'recently sent' there is nothing. What can I do about this? Samsung S10 on Android 10, One UI 2.5 [link] [comments] |
How do I get this keyboard to go away? Posted: 30 Dec 2020 10:58 AM PST The keyboard on my phone works grand for my wee Donald Trump hands, and the spacebar is a regular size, however when I open chrome it changes the layout of the keyboard to add in extra keys that can go ".com" and the spacebar becomes smaller. I think we all know where this is going, yes my google searches have taken 3-5 seconds longer due to time lost hitting backspace and retyping. Basically, is there any way to disable the keyboard with all the stupid "internet keys"? I want the same keyboard I use to text to be the one that I type a website into. Never before have there been so many unintentional full stops (period points) in my searches. It reads like a pornstar trying and failing to send a telegram. Also, I do have screenshots of what I'm talking about, however I don't know how to attach them to this post. IHateComputers.jpeg [link] [comments] |
Samsung music keeps adding songs I delete from my playlist Posted: 30 Dec 2020 02:43 PM PST As the title says, when I delete a song from my playlist it will, sometimes immediately and sometimes after 10 ish second get re-added. Disabling the notifications bar (S20 Ultra) Posted: 30 Dec 2020 01:58 PM PST So about a month ago, my phone slipped out of my pocket and hit my floor pretty bad. Bad enough to disable all touch functions from the top of the device, restricting me from swiping down to view notifications. Instead, the phone does it automatically, whenever it wants, in rapid, random, short bursts. This is becoming incredibly annoying. Now my question, is it possible to disable the notification bar, or lock it in a way where I don't have to swipe down to view it? That would be incredibly useful. Many thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Dec 2020 01:21 PM PST I looked it up but couldn't find anything, I'm not actually sure if this is how it works. When some phones get older they stop getting new updates even when new updates are available right? And samsung does that on purpose because old hardware shouldn't run new versions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Dec 2020 12:41 PM PST Phone is a Samsung Galaxy a20s. Checked firmware version, said Panama/Brasil. Checked IMEI, it's clean, but lists Panama as it's country. Is there anything I can do, or should I reset it and tell BIL to send it back? I'm familiar with Odin, but as it's IMEI, I'm assuming it's baked in and functionally unusable to me, but I figured I'd ask y'all. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Dec 2020 12:40 PM PST So the wifie wont turn her ringer on. She gets alot of phone calls and notifications ect... but when I need to get a hold of her I really wish I had a wireless communication device I could reach her on to tell her to answer her phone. Is there an app or feature where when I call her, it turns on the ringer regardless of if she has it on or not? [link] [comments] |
