| I love my OnePlus 8 Pro - Bought it yesterday and it's awesome (no green tint btw) Posted: 30 Sep 2020 06:15 AM PDT At launch I didn't upgrade to the 8 Pro from my 7 Pro due to the Green Tint Display lottery. And also because of other movements from OnePlus like no upgrading the front camera or the weird color sensor. In May I upgraded to the Pixel 4 XL and though I love the phone, I upgraded to the 8 Pro because in the times we're living now I needed a fingerprint scanner, I was never a fan of face unlock. And I also missed the ultrawide lense and 4K60 recording. The Pixel 5 is not an option due to the mediocre CPU and GPU. My Pixel 4 XL has severe issues with the Green Tint on 15-20% brightness level so I thought that the 8 Pro would be have at least the same issue. With the news of no 8T Pro and with the deal that I saw yesterday, I decided to buy it. A brand new OnePlus 8 Pro Blue 12GB 256GB for just 699€ taxes included with 2 years of warranty here in Spain. I believe it's a good price. And I'm loving it. The display is just AWESOME, with only the greyed curved borders being a small issue. The rest is perfect. SUPER BRIGHT with the manual setting, I believe it's the brightest out there when the brightness is set to manual and 100% (thing that I love) I love curved edged because of the gestures, I might be the minority here. And I believe I've won the lottery because the screen doesn't show any green tint issue. And I'm very picky and demanding with all of these. Cameras are great. Of course they are not as fast as the Pixel 4 XL with the ZSL, and sometimes they struggle with color or HDR (sometimes it doesn't get enabled, and when it gets enabled the pictures have less detail than without the HDR) But in lots of shots the OnePlus produces a better shot, with much less noise, better white balance.... And in video the OnePlus directly destroys the Pixel. Battery wise, it's a little bit less than I expected. So with 120Hz, Max brightness and QHD+ with no auto switch to FHD+ yesterday I got around 4:30 SOT, that it's almost the same than I get with the Pixel. It's true that yesterday I used the camera a little bit more than normal. So I'll be getting around 5 hours SOT that it's fine for me. I ALWAYS get less SOT than everyone else, but that's just because I use the phone differently. I'm loading lot of websites very fast, and that uses lot of internet and also lot of white background which uses lot of battery. Speakers are a litte bit better (better bass and better stage) on the Pixel 4 XL but it's not a huge difference. Barely noticeable [link] [comments]  | ||

Heres my question tho, in the many review vids ive found on youtube, when showing ex. Netflix and some games, it does not look like the phone is taking advantage of using full screen area, theres a huge black 'notch' or digital bezel that throws videos and games away from being centered Is there a workaround or double tab for fullscreen? I read that the Android 11 beta turned it on, I was curious if this was a 'bug' and they turned it back off, or if it was still working. 2) How are the screens? I got mine on release day and it was decent, but not good enough to keep. I'm wondering if it's been mostly resolved with software updates and/or newer hardware versions. 3) Anyone have it on T-Mobile in the US, has it received updates to use the 5G SA, or is that only the T-Mobile branded non-Pro version? Constantly getting "Access Point Full" messages... Tried reaching out to One Plus about the issue months ago, no response... I'm really lost because I need a cellphone I can use outside of my home :( Anyone got any suggestions? It seems 802.11r isn't supported for some reason on Android 10... Worked fine on Pie. Posted: 30 Sep 2020 03:12 PM PDT My phone updated a few days ago to 10.0.11.HD63CB but now when I search something from the Google search bar widget and go to another app, when I try to go into multitasking to go back to that search the Google results don't appear in multitasking meaning I have to go back home and search again then find whatever link I tapped on before. Idk if the phone update did this or if there was also a Google update in that time that did it, but I use the search widget a LOT, so this is very annoying to me, anytime I'm researching something for someone I'm flipping between usually reddit and Google search, but now I can no longer do that unless I do everything from chrome which I don't like to cause I end up with a million tabs. Has anyone else noticed this or is something messed up on my phone? I did have the update ready for about a week before it installed on its own and I do have a T-mobile 7T so for most others that update may be a bit old but it does have the September security patch so it's not super old or anything. | OnePlus Nord screen microstutters Posted: 30 Sep 2020 06:14 AM PDT Hello, I've been using my new OnePlus Nord for a little over a month now. I'm not super in love with the device, I think it's barely good for its price but it is what it is and I can't be bother to look for something that I like more. I have one kinda big issue though: about 1 time a day, sometimes less sometimes more, the screen will lose its smoothness and will have clearly visible microstutters when scrooling any type of app. The only way I found to fix the issue is rebooting the phone which is kind of annoying. My refresh rate is correctly set at 90Hz and even when the phone starts acting up, the Settings will show 90Hz as the selected refresh rate. I tried clearing Cache today and see if it will help, I have no way to trigger this issue so I just have to wait and see if it comes back. Did any of you experience this? [link] [comments]  |
