Those who do iPad screen replacement Posted: 31 Aug 2020 11:08 AM PDT We don't do a lot of them here because generally, I don't think the cost is worth the time involved. Maybe we would crank them out faster if we did a lot more of them, but especially on older model units the cost of a decent replacement digitizer and the labor is often just not worth it. My actual question is about the iPad frame. Almost all the screens we end up replacing have issues sitting in the frame and keeping the adhesive stuck down because of bent corners in the frame. I saw that iFixIt has a corner fixing tool, but I was curious if anyone has used it and how well it works. I imagine as each new iPad comes up, that tool might need adapters to fit new corner sizes. I am considering just not offering to do these replacements anymore because they seem to create more problems than the revenue they bring in would justify. [link] [comments] |
