When OnePlus are going to fix Chrome Freeze issues? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 04:02 AM PDT I am having a great experience with my OnePlus 7T Pro except for the Chrome Freezing from time to time. When it does that I don't need to close and open the app again, just going to the homescreen and back to chrome is enough. A lot of people complain about this issue and I submitted a bug to OnePlus support, but nothing improved. Here is the link to the thread: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/chrome-freezes-sometimes-when-loading-heavier-web-pages.1208443/ I also wrote to Google and got no reply on this issue I am using OnePlus 7T Pro (HD1913) with OxygenOS 10.0.9.HD01BA and the latest version of Chrome. And no, I won't switch from Chrome to another browser like people sometimes suggest. I like using it on Android and other platforms, I like my bookmarks and extensions sync [link] [comments]
Never been more happy with my one plus than today Posted: 29 Jun 2020 05:43 PM PDT I got my 7t a few months ago. I've loved everything about it since day one. But today, I've fallen in love with the company. THE SHITTY PLASTIC SCREEN PROTECTOR THE PHONE CAME WITH SAVED MY PHONE! I got out of my car with the phone "in my pocket" and it flung out and skidded across the ground. The screen protector was hella scratched but the phone screen itself remained scratch free. God bless them and their shitty plastic covers. It's the little things man. [link] [comments]
Dear OnePlus, please make your non-pro flagship device compact Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:27 PM PDT It's clear now with two pro versions that the vanilla 7 and 8 were intentionally handicapped to sell the Pro. The 7 didn't even launch in some markets. For those of who you watched the launch event, OnePlus called the 8 'compact'. Well, why not actually make it properly compact - a differentiating factor - rather than making just an all around inferior device to the Pro? Samsung, Apple and Google all do this. Imagine the OnePlus 8 with even a 6" screen (Still big but have to start somewhere),a smaller battery and no other changes. OP gets pretty good battery life out of not huge batteries so it won't be a worry. It would be amazing. If someone wants a big phone, shell out the big bucks for the Pro device. Futher the new budget Nord looks amazing but is big. If the 8 is smaller, people who really want that would spend more for it. Seems like a win-win for them. What do you guys think? OnePlus 8 vs Galaxy S20+ vs Pixel 4xl. It's not all about the hardware... Or software Posted: 29 Jun 2020 08:39 PM PDT Just a short post today, but I really wanted to say something. Google parrots the idea that software is everything. Samsung seems to think that hardware is the end all. After using a Pixel, S20+, and now a OP8 I think I like the OP8 the best. Here's why: Google pixel phones are amazing and would be the best if their hardware wasn't garbage. The software is amazing to use, but the experience is marred by the hardware limitations. The devices are bulky with awkward bezels and they don't have the power to keep up The Samsung S20+ is a gorgeous piece of phone with all the bells and whistles. This would be hands down the winner if Samsung's software didn't suck. The UI itself is nice. But allllllllll the preinstalled apps. Plus, all of Samsung's native apps are pretty bad. The dialer likes to notify me randomly 4 times in a row that I have a voicemail... Even if it notified me of that same VM hours ago. The calendar is a hot mess. I wish I could disable these things at least. Chrome constantly hesitates and pauses. The adaptive brightness is slow, when it works. Ironically, there's one piece of hardware on this phone that's really bad: the fingerprint reader. It's slow and after a week or two it takes 3-4 tries on average to unlock my damn phone. The experience really suffers. The other day I picked up an OP8. I figured since I'm adding a free line I might as well get a backup phone for half off for one of my techs. I took it out to activate the line and play with it a bit and immediately it took me. The fingerprint reader is quick and accurate. The face unlock is incredibly fast. The UI is clean and quick. It has all the hardware that really matters: fast CPU, gorgeous 90hz screen, solid feel and weight. It doesn't have all the bells the S20 has. It doesn't have the software magic of the Pixel line, but the experience is unmatched. Honestly, this is what the Pixel 4 should have been. I'm going to daily drive this phone for a couple weeks to be sure but I think it's my new phone. [link] [comments]
Where do you prefer the fingerprint scanner to be located? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 05:28 PM PDT I have the OP8 and it's the first device I've owned with an in-screen finger print scanner. I think that I sort of prefer the more hardware style back of the phone finger print scanners even though I know that the in-screen ones are more modern. [link] [comments]
Any tips to reduce battery drain at night? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:59 PM PDT I observed that I'm losing 17-18% battery at night on my new OnePlus 7T when the device is on standby at night. Surely that's not normal? I switch wifi off when I go to sleep. Any tips to improve battery life would be a great help. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
I have a few questions about the OnePlus 7t Posted: 29 Jun 2020 06:06 PM PDT Hi all! I'm looking into replacing my Oneplus X (I think it's about time, sadly!) I am looking into getting a Oneplus 7T, but unsure if I want to go for the international version or the Chinese version. Chinese looks better in every sense (more storage, cheaper, etc.) but I'm afraid about coverage (I live in North America). Does anybody have experience with getting the Chinese version? I want to use Straight Talk with it. Also, I'm not sure why this link have the 256GB one cheaper than the 128GB one? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZQSQCN9/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?th=1 [link] [comments]

How safe is it to buy a OnePlus 7 Pro with screen burn in Posted: 29 Jun 2020 04:51 PM PDT I cracked my phone, I was just looking at ebay, and there's a lot of OnePlus 7 Pros at pretty big discounts, the problem is that they have a screen burn in issue. Do these effect the lifespan of the phone? Do the burns get progressively worse? What are some of your thoughts on this? Thanks. [link] [comments]
USB-C to AUX in washine machine Posted: 29 Jun 2020 06:02 PM PDT Okay so, I forgot to clean my pockets before washing my pants and my cable went in for a full wash... Guess what?? It survived!! Its only a little bent because of the heat but it still works great! [link] [comments]
[USA] Nightmare RMA experience. Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:19 PM PDT I dropped off my OnePlus 7T RMA at a UPS store on 6/23 and fortunately got a paper receipt. However, it never made it into the UPS system and tracking says UPS never received it. Since OnePlus provided the label, they are considered the shipper, not me. So only they are allowed to file a claim with UPS. When I try to explain the situation to OnePlus support agents, they do not seem to understand the issue at all. They keep asking me to contact UPS myself. I have tried, but as said before, I am not considered the "shipper" so I have no standing to start a claim - despite the fact that my $500 device has been lost. It is obviously not the fault of OnePlus that UPS lost the device, but only OnePlus is allowed to do anything about it. It's still early, but I get the feeling I'm in for a long nightmare before I get my phone back. [link] [comments]
Bottom gesture bar randomly will appear on home screen Posted: 29 Jun 2020 05:36 PM PDT It only happens maybe 50% of the time but often when I go to my home screen the bottom gesture bar will appear randomly, then just abruptly disappear a second later, even tho I have it set to always hide the bottom bar. This started happening with an update to oxygen launcher. Anybody else experiencing this? [link] [comments]
Some questions about the OP7t pro Posted: 29 Jun 2020 02:41 PM PDT I was looking for a new phone for a while now and finally decided on getting the OnePlus 7t pro. I've already watched and read a couple of reviews but am still uncertain in some regards. Therefore i wanted to ask a couple of questions about the device:
Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Not sure if I should switch to OnePlus, but maybe? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:56 PM PDT I'm a Google pixel 3a user. I've always been fascinated by the oneplus phones but now I'm kinda attached to Google... But now that Google might not release the pixel 4a I'm not sure if I should get the pixel 4xl or a one plus phone. I'm aiming for a budget of around 700 dollars, any suggestions of what phone I should get? Also telling me the specs would be great too! Just a teen wanting a new device here. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2020 01:56 PM PDT Hey a Oneplus 8 user here. I accidentally deleted a photo when browsing through my gallery. The issue is that when you touch the trashcan it doesnt give you a warning before deleting it, it just automatically deletes it. Is there a way to give you a warning? [link] [comments]
I dropped my OP 7 Pro in the sink by accident, and it stopped working. Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:36 AM PDT The title says it. Do you have anything that would help me? The screen is doing the weird broken screen thing while flickering randomly into the default screen. Edit: For a little extra info, the water wasn't that deep, around half a foot at most. Not salt water or any other kind of water, normal sink water. Around 20 minutes after, the touch went out and I couldn't do anything on it. Then the above happened. It could be a different problem but I'm pretty sure its the water. [link] [comments]
How much of a price difference would there have to be for you to take the Galaxy S20+ vs OP 8 Pro? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:07 PM PDT As the title says. I know I can post this to "which android should i buy" but I like posting here a little better because there's relatively little amounts of bullshit or biases, even if it's a OP sub I have a OP5. I'm looking to upgrade. I love OxygenOS. I've always hated touchwiz and don't find OneUI that much better...but maybe I haven't used it as much. So I'm looking to upgrade. If the price was the same, OP8 Pro without a doubt. However, in Canada, The Galaxy S20+ is $350 CAD less than the OP8 Pro (12gb/256gb config)...if I go to the 8gb/128gb config, I have to get glacial green (meh) and it's still $180+tax more expensive. The cameras seem to be a wash. So to me, it seems like I have to decide if the screen at 120hz, OxygenOS, and extra 4gb of ram (128gb is more than enough for me, so that's negligible). Thoughts? Am I missing something? [link] [comments]
Charging port on the OnePlus 6 is kinda special - Cables won't stay inside. Posted: 29 Jun 2020 02:44 PM PDT Hey there, i really like my OP 6, i had the OP 1 and then the OP 2, so i would consider myself as a fan of the brand. The only thing i can not stand is the fact, that even original cables easily slip out of the charging port. A little bonk, a small tilt or minor movement is enough to interrupt the charging. I have to push in the cable far stronger than i would consider normal. And even then it does not hook onto the phone. Sadly i can't remember how it was when i got my phone. Is there anything i can do against? Is there some sort of cables which work really perfect? I do not want to start a comparison between Apple and OnePlus, but holy cow, the connector on a iPhone is far ahead on this one atleast. You could hang the phone on the cord without a problem. On my OP 6 i wouldn't think about this. Thank you in advance, i really appreciate every kind of help. [link] [comments]
3 hours of battery life on the OnePlus 6T Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:11 PM PDT Help. My battery life is typically 4.5 to 5 hours but today it's on 10% after under 3 hours of use. I mean, I did unplug it at 1 am after charging it and it drained some during the night on standby, which in and of itself is annoying because it shouldn't be using much power in the background. My main apps, Reddit, tik tok, and Snapchat, are all indeed battery hogs but it's never been this bad. Edit: by battery life I mean SOT [link] [comments]
Where can I suggest a feature for OnePlus to implement? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 01:02 PM PDT I duckduckgo'ed it, but haven't found anything that answers my question. I switched to OnePlus at the beginning of this year, and it is mind boggling to me that OnePlus doesn't have a feature to stop the phone from automatically connecting to specific WiFi networks. It has been a feature on literally all of my Android phones since the very first HTC Desire HD, but OnePlus doesn't have it for some inexplicable reason. P.S. like this: https://i2.wp.com/www.softwarert.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/disable-auto-join-wifi-network-iphone.jpg?resize=300%2C533&ssl=1 [link] [comments]
Oneplus 7t connectivity issues Posted: 29 Jun 2020 12:58 PM PDT I feel like I'm going crazy. Everytime I visit my parents (they only live like 40 minutes away) my phone will lose mobile data connectivity for a second and then go back. It does this until I leave the area and start heading back home where this isn't an issue at all. What's going on? [link] [comments]
What Accessories do you use with your OnePlus? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 08:39 AM PDT As phones become more powerful and a lifeline for many, it's becoming clear that a great phone is not always the whole story. What accessories or applications do you use in your daily life that help integrate your phone, with all of your other daily activities? For me, I connected my phone to my Google smart home. Turn the lights on before I get home, control my AC and fans with my phone. I also have my Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch on me connected to my phone to easily read my notifications while at work, and monitor my activity through the day. I would like to get a wireless charger dock that would charge my phone and watch simultaneously. My phone is also my primary music driver. The speakers are great for when I'm watching a YouTube video on my phone, but I'll connect to some Samsung speakers for my music. Next on my list is a good pair of headphones, likely the Sony M3 or Bose 700. I'm always interested in how our phones can play a significant role in our daily lives. What accessories, applications, or tech do you use to improve your daily life? [link] [comments]
People in India who got faulty OP 8 pro, how was your experience in returning/replacing the device? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 04:37 AM PDT I have been looking forward for over a month to buy OP8 pro and now getting a bit reluctant due to the display issues coming up in some handsets. I'm also a bit more concerned since Amazon has only 7 day replacement and no refund as their return policy. Those who purchased OP8 pro from Amazon India and got a faulty device, were you able to get it replaced with a non faulty device or were you able to get a refund? Please share your experience Also, camera and display are very important for me. I'm also considering iPhone 11 pro as an option. One major reason I'm considering OP8 pro is because it's half the price of iPhone 11 pro and based on online reviews it seems the camera is comparable to iPhone 11 pro. If budget is not much of a constraint, is iPhone 11 pro really a significant upgrade over OP8 pro for 2x the price ? [link] [comments]
