    S20+ Exynos First day use

    Posted: 02 May 2020 07:16 AM PDT

I just got the s20+ on Thursday. I made a post here and someone said to update about the performance.

So, on Friday I left home at 10:50 am for work with 100%. It was a 1 hour commute in public transport where I was watching YouTube and playing some games(not very heavy) in full brightness and connected to my galaxy buds. My shift was from 12-10 and in that entire time, it was connected to my earbuds and I was listening to audible on and off. I listened to audible for 6.5 hours and I had a 2 hour break in which I watched more youtube and played some games. I finished my shift at 10 and got reached home at 11 pm. On my way back, I took about 30-40 pics using regular mode and night mode to compare the camera performance. My phone had 1% left when I arrived home at 11pm. The SoT was 5.5 hours but I had been listening to audible for 6.5 hours and don't know how that factors in SoT. I had WiFi, mobile data, Bluetooth, NFC on and there is an Covid19 app in Australia that always runs in the background and interacts with other peoples phone through Bluetooth. I don't know how much power that consumes.

Overall, the phone gave me 12 hours worth of juice for my regular usage which is not bad. I have also heard that the phone learns user behaviour and optimises battery so after using it for a while, the battery might last even longer. If that is true, that is more than enough for me.

The update I got for my S10 yesterday deleted all the naughty language from my learned words.

    Posted: 01 May 2020 08:32 PM PDT

I was typing out a text when I saw that it autocorrected "damn" to "darn", and it's definitely never done that before. I typed out a list and ended up with "Darn duck shot ass can't hell batch". None of my other learned words seem to be affected, as I have some affectionate pet names for my SO which are definitely not real words and they're still learned. Just seemed odd to me.

I'm not sure if this is the right sub, but does anyone else who updated their phone hate this new keyboard? Sure it looks better, but I've gotten used to the old one and the autocorrect seems to be more.... sensitive? I dunno what the right word is.

    Samsung a5 comeback

    Posted: 02 May 2020 02:00 AM PDT

I had samsung a5 for 2 years and it was a great phone (small, ip68, glass, good camera, amoled), besides the updates which stopped. I just wish we could get this quality of phone instead of a50/a51 which feel too cheap, slow and big.

Did my cable ruin my S7 charging port? Weird charging issues.

    Posted: 02 May 2020 06:54 AM PDT

I'm starting to have weird problems charging my S7. Whenever I plug in to charge the phone, nothing happens. I then move the cable around a bit and find a sweet spot until it starts charging - but it charges really slowly.

I thought something was wrong with the cable so I tried a different one and the same issue occured. Now I'm thinking that it's something wrong with the charging port.

Weird thing is, I tried both cables on my older S5 phone and the exact same issue is happening where I have to move around to find a sweet spot. I never had this issue with the S5 until now! I even tried a different wall charger and plugged into my PC but nothing changed.

Is it possible that one of the cables ruined both of the phones charging port while trying them out? Here is a picture of the one that I mainly use and the golden parts don't look right inside. https://i.imgur.com/Kk1ucWH.jpg

    What is happening?
