I am a student who has to frequently move back and forth between two locations 200 miles apart. And often instead of physically carrying my sheets, I just scan them and use CamScanner cloud to use them later. This was very comfortable. So after this big blow-up last week about CamScanner instilling malwares on phone, which app should I start using? Looking for one that has its own cloud service (preferably not eating up Google Drive Data, I am out of Drive space at this point) One of the MOST IMPORTANT question is how can I move this enormous amount of data that I have in CamScanner app to the alternative app? | Bixby keeps popping up un-provoked. Posted: 01 Sep 2019 05:22 PM PDT Whenever I watch a video on YouTube Bixby gets promted. Sometimes it'll do it and sometimes it won't. I am pretty immersed in the apple eco system and have found my way around things like transferring my Icalendar but I am having a really hard time finding a good apple tv remote. Every time I say "Hey, Google," she responds with "When it's safe, you'll first need to tap the notification. Then you can use the google assistant while driving." There's a notification that I can tap on my phone, and then it allows me to continue with my voice command. But it makes me do this every single time I try a voice command, which of course defeats the purpose of it being hands-free. What gives? A cursory search shows that this is a pretty widespread problem which pre-dates the latest Android Auto update (though I personally didn't have the issue before that). | Do modern unlocked phones work on both GSM and CDMA carriers? Posted: 01 Sep 2019 02:10 PM PDT I was shopping for a new phone, specifically, I have my eye on the LG G8. And while checking multiple venders, I was surprised to see that it appeared twice on Best Buy's page when I filtered by my carrier (Sprint). They had both an "Unlocked" and the carrier-locked version.... with the unlocked one strangely being significantly cheaper. I thought this was odd since from my knowledge (which might be outdated I admit) I thought an unlocked CDMA phone was somewhat useless since it still has to be registered with the carrier, it's not like GSM where you can just pop in a SIM card. I also thought that because of how different GSM and CDMA carriers were, you can't use a GSM phone on a CDMA carrier and vice-versa. But the description on Best Buy's page claimed that the unlocked phone would work on all four major US carriers, two of which are GSM (AT&T and T-Mobile) and two of which are CDMA (Sprint and Verizon). Has there been some change in which modern phones now support both? Or perhaps is that specific models? Or did Best Buy just screw up their specs for this phone? Is there any difference between the Unlocked (Which strangely is cheaper, normally it's the unlocked one that is more expensive than the carrier-locked version) and Sprint-branded version? I remember reading that another phone I was previously looking at (HTC U12+) did not work on Sprint properly even if you got an unlocked one because it didn't fully support all of it's radio bands or something along those lines. | Change default file selection interface/app Posted: 01 Sep 2019 01:37 AM PDT Hello. When selecting a file for upload or something similar, I'm greeted with this interface. I hate it. You cant traverse the file system in any meaningful manner, for some astonishing reason i can use it to look at files On my sd card, on google drive, but i cant look at files on the device storage. Is there a way to make the samsung file manager be the thing that opens up instead? I'm using a Samsung Note 9, but if had this same problem with my old S8, and Oneplus 2. I'm trying to figure out how I can move these recordings from the app to my PC. I wasn't able to find the files when I plugged it into my PC with a USB cable. I am wanting to put an app on the phone to track the phone because I'm assuming he is pawning it. However, I can't find an app that is hidden in the phone. I don't want him to be able to see the app and just uninstall it. The more I am able to monitor his phone the better, but at the very least be able to track the phone when it gets "lost." | Huawei P20 lite charging issues. Posted: 01 Sep 2019 12:39 PM PDT Can anybody please help me with my problems. Everything was working fine but suddenly my p20 stopped charging. I have tried different cables and power outlets so that's not it. If I put my phone in the charger it switches between the red and the green lighting bolt icon. Then after a minute or so it starts itself, gets to the point were I have to enter my password and then dies immediately. I have tried to get in the fastboot&recovery menu by pressing volume down. When I'm in this menu it won't die but I can't reboot or recover it from my pc because HiSuite "doesn't support this device" (wtf?). So I don't really know what to do. Obviously it still charges somewhat, otherwise I wouldn't be able to see anything. So my guess it's a software issue but I'm stuck in this loop and just can't get out of it. | Posted: 01 Sep 2019 11:45 AM PDT I'm on a Pixel 3 XL and whenever I record long videos, they end up getting split into 10 minute sections. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but even when I edit them in programs like Adobe or DaVinci, sometimes there are small gaps (a couple or frames) that cause the video to jump at that point. Not to mention missing audio. Sometimes I'll record my GF playing live and some of the sets will be 20+ minutes. Sometimes I'll also be recording audio on a laptop and get contiuous "master" audio that sounds much better than the phone audio. But when I try to combine them and sync, things get very weird and the whole syncing process breaks down and makes it very difficult to sync all of these together. When using the master audio, it puts the videos where they match the master audio which leaves gaps inbetween each clip which sort of ruins the consistency of the video. So I can either try to interpolate frames which doesn't really work, let it go black and pop back in, which is jarring or I can put the clips in seemlessly and remove part of the master audio which again is jarring and clicky. Especially when she's playing classical cello music. I didn't see anything in the Google default camera and I don't really know how to check if other camera apps will do this too and don't really wanna record a bunch of long videos just to find out and see what they do but I guess I will have to if thats what it comes to. But I just didn't know if anyone had any apps that don't split vids. Or at least let's you record longer before it splits. [link] [comments]  |

In the car i use Android Auto through a USB cable and that works fine, but pretty much every Bluetooth connection is buggy. Every app that uses GPS in the background will stop/crash after a while (even though all the battery saving things are off as far as i know). The connection with my Garmin Edge is a complete disaster. Most of the times i need to disable Bluetooth on my phone, start up my Garmin Edge and then enable bluetooth on my phone again. It will connect in the end but i'm getting non stop notifications that my phone network is lost (notification on the Garmin). I've already resetted the netwerk settings but doesn't seem to help. I have seriously no idea where and how i can even start to troubleshoot this. Could this be something just related to the OnePlus phones or something? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 01 Sep 2019 10:45 AM PDT My hotspot stopped working correctly this morning. When I tried using it on my laptop, it told me it was connected to the internet, but failed to load any pages. I have another phone that, when I tried using my hotspot, connected but said there was no internet. My data is working perfectly fine, and my bill's not due for a few more weeks. I have unlimited data and am using an LG Premier Pro on StraightTalk. My hotspot was working fine yesterday, and I haven't changed any of my settings. I've tried turning it off and on, resetting my phone, and changing my password. Nothing worked, and I can't get my laptop to connect anymore. Any advice? [link] [comments]  |

But when my phone's flipped a little orb appears in the bottom right corner, if you tap it the screen rotates. I accidentally tap it a lot, is there a way to remove it?
