PC shuts down at wrong temperature Posted: 01 Jun 2019 02:53 AM PDT Hi! I recently build a new PC with a Ryzen 2400G. I noticed random shutdowns whenever I did anything that needed a little higher performance. I checked the temperatures with HWMonitor, and I have 2 different temps that I think are the problem. CPUTIN (which I believe is the MOBO CPU temperature sensor) and the CPU temp itself. Whenever CPUTIN reaches 40C (104F) or the CPU reaces 70C (158F), the PC shuts down (both reaces the temps the same time). I believe this is not a critical temperature to shut the whole system. I checked the UEFI temps, the critical is set to 85C for the CPU. Tried disabling MOBO overheating feature, and ran several tests, all ending with shutdown at the temps above. Anyone has any advice what else can I do? *edit: I use an ASRock B450M Pro4 motherboard. *edit: I do not use a GPU, only the APU, but the shutdown happens even if I just run a CPU computing stress test, no graphics. Can my school see all the memes I've screenshotted? Posted: 31 May 2019 04:10 PM PDT So, I use Google Photos on my phone, including my school email account. I thought I was only synced to my main account, but nope, I was wrong. Whenever I try to log in to my school email through Google photos, this comes up: "admin.google.com is for G Suite accounts only. Regular Gmail accounts cannot be used to sign in to admin.google.com" Does this mean all of my photos are synced?? Can they see every little embarrassing thing? Please its 1am and I'm very scared [link] [comments] |
Every few minutes, Wifi stops working for a second. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:11 AM PDT Hello, I own an Acer Aspire F 15 laptop. A few days back, I noticed that my Wifi doesnt work properly. Every 5-20 minutes, the internet connection stops and I can see the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle overlaping the Wifi connection button located on the toolbar. In just a few seconds, everything is fine again. It is pretty annoying, as I am unable to do anything that requiers stable internet access. As far as I know, It seems like this is only happening to my computer, so it is not a router problem. Any possible explanations or ways to fix this? Thank you for your answers and have a nice day! (BTW: Excuse my poor english please.) [link] [comments] |

Help preparing an iMac for sale Posted: 01 Jun 2019 02:15 AM PDT I backed up my files on an external drive, booted the computer and clicked command R, erased the hard drive and reinstalled the OS. Is there anything else I need to do to ensure the new owner can't access info once stored on the hard drive? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2019 07:13 AM PDT I just connected a new SSD (Kingston A400 240gb) and then cloned my drive C to the SSD and then when I try to boot up my PC from the SSD it says that it does not find the OS, then after some time when I tried to boot it up from my HDD which is a Seagate Barracuda it says the same thing when earlier it still works. What could've been the problem? I tried resetting the BIOS which does not work. My motherboard is Gigabyte A320m-s2h. [link] [comments] |
SD card can't be cleaned, formatted, etc. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 04:47 AM PDT So first let me start off by saying, up until it was prematurely ejected by stray wire being caught beneath it and pulling it out, my USB adapter that I put my SD card into was working just fine. But since then, only my PC recognizes that it's plugged in, but if I try to delete or add any files from or to it, it gets stuck at 0% and cripples file explorer until I remove the drive. Any other device, such as my tablet or switch see it as being there (though the switch says the card can't be recognized at the home screen after first booting up). Anytime I try to format the card normally, I get an error just saying that it can't be formatted. I've tried running the >clean command in cmd as an admin, and I get an I/O error. I tried running >chkdsk /f /r /x and it gets stuck at 100 percent for 5 minutes and says a critical error has occurred, then continues to the next stage. I've tried deleting the partition, reformatting it from disk management, but it always has an unknown error. I'm completely fine with completely formatting the card, there's nothing on it that can't be recovered, but it is a very large card and I don't really want to let the investment into it be for nothing. The card is a Samsung EVO Select 512 GB. [link] [comments] |
Is someone hacked in my pc or is it just some kind of virus? Posted: 01 Jun 2019 06:43 AM PDT Hello, My computer have had some strange problems lately, first thing is random screen stutter time to time, this happens like few times each week, the screen starts stutter every 3 second to black and when i restart computer its back to normal. Now yesterday i got the worrying problem that scared the shit out of me, i was casually playing some games and suddenly screamer and some moaning sound started blasting from my headphones, i tried to find the cause of it but didn't find any trace of it... I've checked that none is spying or me or something from 'cmd' and with netstat command but didn't find anything.. Then I cleaned my pc from all extra files etc.. What should i do? Do i install the windows again or is there some easier solution? Sry for bad english Thanks! [link] [comments] |
GPU card stopped working and doesn't allow OS to boot Posted: 01 Jun 2019 06:19 AM PDT I started having some issue last week when my screen went randomly on/off, then last time it remained black as if the monitor went shut. Windows 10 stopped booting although BIOS sees my SSD, and after testing with my GPU removed I found out it stopped working. The card is a R7 370 4gb, it always worked percetly until now and I don't know whethet to attempt it to fix it or to get a new one. Suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2019 06:19 AM PDT I recently got my new pc with a 1660ti and found out that I've been scammed(more or less). A g sync monitor costs around 500 bucks in my area and the CHEAPEST one as well so if I want a higher/better quality I should spend more than 550 or 600(money I don't have) MEANWHILE a freesync monitor is around 200 bucks and also has 144hz or 165hz. I read a lot about what the difference is but still could only understand around 0.1% of what it is. Any of you guys that wanna help? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2019 11:42 PM PDT I'm searching online and I'm starting to think that it has something to do with the 'timing'...or the stick could be faulty but it seems complicated and I'm not sure about these things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Installed AMD OverDrive on Ryzen build. Now my CPU performs horribly. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 04:59 AM PDT I have a Ryzen 1600 and wanted to try overclocking to get a bit more juice out of my build. Ryzen Master didn't seem to do anything so followed my friends suggestion of trying OverDrive (big mistake). When I launched OverDrive I immediately got the blue screen of death and my computer wouldnt boot again. Tried safe mode and rolling back to a previous restore point but no luck. Ended up having to reinstall windows. Now when benchmarking my build, my CPU gets a terrible score. Could this be a driver issue? [link] [comments] |
PlayStation Move controller not working properly Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:44 AM PDT This doesn't happen all the time but recently one of my PlayStation Move controllers keeps failing to work properly. What I mean by this is that when I'm playing a VR game, the controller will disappear behind my back or somewhere 3 meters in front of me and won't come back until I turn it off and on again. Then a minute after off and on it's back to its old tricks again. This is very annoying as it is ruining my gameplay and preventing me from progressing. Any help is appreciated thank you. Can't boot Windows CD to install on an erased HDD Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:36 AM PDT Bought a used hard drive on ebay, to cut down on costs on a PC build, so will be running my OS from it. I put my copy of Windows in, when prompted to boot CD press any key.. i did but nothing happens, and it takes me to a 'Blancco' report screen and just stays there (I assume that's the program the seller used to erase his HDD before selling) Anyway around this? How to print double sided on Canon Mf212w Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:26 AM PDT Hi folks, How can I print on both sides of paper on this canon printer. It is very hard to find an article about this on the canon site that's why I suppose it doesn't have the duplex option ( which is total BS for such price), but any idea how to print double sided?
