Do you think OnePlus will change their refresh cycles starting this year? Posted: 29 Apr 2019 09:30 AM PDT Now that Oneplus is going to release two phones at once, do you think they will do 6 month refresh cycles with the T versions? Honestly, a 7T/7T pro, 8/8 pro, 8T/8T pro every few months sounds like overkill to me. [link] [comments]

How I achieved 8.5hrs of SOT with my OP6(root) Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:28 PM PDT Clearly, people have problems with their battery life on both the OP6 and the OP6t. There is atleast a few complaints about battery life a week. So in order to combat these plaguing threads, I decided to show how I personally got nearly 9hrs of screen on time on my OP6. The 6t will certainly yield better results. Just to show you I ain't playing, here is proof of stellar battery life on my OP6 ----->IMGUR. Before all of the modifications I made, I was averaging 4-6hrs of SOT, usually closer to 4 than 6. Now, Im pushing 9, running CPU without underclocking it, and getting all my notifications. Nice and dandy. Here is what you'll need. - Root - Twrp -Magisk - LKT - Naptime(play store) - Servicely(play store, optional) - Common Sense Above is all the modifications I've done to my device. Flashing Francos Kernel improves battery life substantially. Flashing LKT on balanced also provided better battery as well. What really pushed by battery life even further was enabling deep optimization and standby optimization. If you don't know how to do this, it's simple. Battery-> Battery Optimization->Profit Enabling both of these increased my SOT immensely. These should be activated at all times for the best battery life, and the best part is they dont require root :D..... Enabling deep optimization will make sure no background processes are going crazy. If there are certain apps you want to make sure work in the background, simply don't optimize them. This is how I am able to keep apps like Accubattery and Snapchat working normally, without significant drain. - Disable adaptive battery, this android feature is nothing but a gimmick at best. Whenever turned on I've achieved faster battery drain. This is my personal experience. Try it. - Naptime is also a nice bonus, it allows your phone to go into doze much faster than normal, which will in turn, lead to a much better standby time, something oneplus phones tend not to be great at. Servicely is also a nice bonus. Since Greenify auto hibernation is broken, this is a great alternative. It can be used to put certain apps to sleep, and disable rogue wakelocks. This would be beneficial if you decided not to use Deep Optimization in the OP settings, however since using Deep Optimization, wakelocks don't misbehave like they used to. - Finally, I underclocked the GPU in the Franco Kernel app. Not only is GPU rarely used in normal circumstances, its also a battery sucker at least in my personal experience. Underclocking this will increase screen on time very much. All of the above is how I achieved a great screen on time, with little to no performance hiccups. If you are not rooted, at least enable deep optimization and standby optimization. Thats just what I did. Hopefully this helps someone. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2019 06:08 PM PDT Is the launch event worth it? I've never been to one and have always been interested. I'm just a regular dude who is super interested in tech. Should I watch from home or pony up the $30? [link] [comments]
OnePlus 3t latest Android version Posted: 29 Apr 2019 06:10 PM PDT I just got a new OnePlus 3t to replace my failing 3t. Why does my new one think Android 7.1.1 is the latest software? My phone I've had for over 2 years is updated to 8.0.0 and has been for a while now. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2019 04:54 PM PDT Anyone else experiencing wifi issues? Once in while I have to turn off my wifi, wait for the mobile data to connect and then go back to WiFi for it to work. I've recently done a factory reset to fix the issue to no avail. [link] [comments]

Difference in performance between different variants of the same phone? Eg: OP6T 6+128 vs 8+256 Posted: 29 Apr 2019 06:46 AM PDT Is there a difference in performance? Yes, the 8gb version should keep more apps running at a time in the background but I still think a 6gb phone can run at least 10 applications like facebook, gmail, youtube, chrome webpage (other similar non-gaming apps) running at the same time? Or maybe 1 game and 3-4 applications at a time? I have been waiting for the op7 for 4 months approximately and now I have decided to buy the Pro version, for obvious reasons. I waited because I wanted the new features, not just a good phone. However the budget is a constraint so I am going to have to buy the 6+128 version(if it exists) instead of the 8gb RAM phone i was planning to buy, I wanna know if it really matters much if performance and only slight multitasking is what I'm looking at... if I could get some sort of measure on the multitasking abilities of a phone.. as we compare the battery power in hours. Can anyone give me an instance or an example where I would be better off using the 8+256 GB version and not the 6+128gb version EXCEPT for storing a lot of data on my phone? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2019 01:17 PM PDT Just like the title says I've tried 3 versions of the unbricking tool but it gets stuck downloading cache (I let the tool run multiple times and always fails at around 920 seconds). A different version of the tool just gives me a memory size: 59.601563G message and stops downloading. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments]

Servify protect not worth it. Go third party. Posted: 29 Apr 2019 12:08 PM PDT So I guess part of the blame goes on me for not reading up on servify protection when purchasing the 12 months accidental coverage. I purchased a 6t back in November and also got the accidental damage protection the same time. When checking out it offers One plus Protect for 12 months of accidental damage. Figured it would work better then other third party options I have looked into in the past since its offered directly from One plus and the price seemed reasonable. My line of thinking was that since One plus offers it then it should be way faster to get claims through, but it's not. I did the setup with the app with the code thinking it was fairly straightforward and everything seemed to work like they said it would after receiving the phone. Even kinda liked the idea of an app to possibly make claims with. Forward till this weekend when I broke my phone to the point of being unusable and am now trying to setup a claim through servify. So check my email to check my order number and read up on the coverage. Go to the servify website thinking I could login and setup a claim, nope. Need to call or email. Emailed Sunday night knowing it wouldn't get response till a work day. So this morning login to one plus website and decide to chat with support thinking they would help get a claim started. Was told to contact Servify, and that servify is part of One plus, but another division, which apparently can't communicate with One Plus Support. Explained that I was unable to call Servify and had already sent an email but haven't heard anything back. Was told it takes 48 hours for a response. Then started reading up on Servify and how other peoples experiences have been. If you don't install the app and activate with a code within certain period of time you seem to be screwed and wont be allowed to make a claim even if its within a year of purchase. Others seem to have long wait periods for repairs or replacements. Maybe someone has had a better experience, but I have yet to read one good review of the service. Sorry to rant, but this has been a terrible experience so far and seen a lot of people asking about the protect plan now that I am reading up on it. Phone was amazing while I had it. I recommend the phone, but also recommend that you do some third party for insurance for accidental damage. [link] [comments]
OnePlus 7 General Camera Question Posted: 29 Apr 2019 03:05 PM PDT As I read the stock camera is not good and not bad. If you compare to the flagships in the same release year you saw that the other had always better cameras. Now I have a mate 10 Pro and I hate the camera. Front camera is so bad and the rear camera is okay. There are no good gcam mods here. Now my question. Let's say the OnePlus 7 Pro has a solid camera, but the other flagships has better ones. If we install customized gcam mods for the OnePlus , does it reach the same or better camera quality as other smartphones? How was it the last few years ? I want a OnePlus so bad but for my next phone the camera quality should be really good. I will do also more front camera photos than back camera one. Thanks so much. [link] [comments]
OP6 Alexa App + Echo Auto Issues Posted: 29 Apr 2019 10:11 AM PDT Got my hands on an Amazon Echo Auto last week for $25 as an early adopter from the wait list. You have to use the Alexa App on your phone to make it run and fetch data through your phone's cellular connection. I have Locked the Alexa app, but I continuously get a message that the Echo Auto has lost connection to the Alexa App on my phone. I'm on a OP6 9.0.5 and Alexa App version 2.2.270973.0 Has anyone else had trouble like this? [link] [comments]

Oneplus5 goes into silent mode randomly. Does not recognize earphone has been taken out. Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:07 AM PDT I just got my oneplus5 and I love it this is the only issue I have had recently. The phone will just randomly be in silent mode causing me to miss calls and messages, also if I plug in a 3.5 and then take it out later the phone will think the headphone jack is still occupied and keep the earphones emblem at the top and stay in that mode. Anyone else experiencing the same issues? [link] [comments]

Anyway to install fonts other than the Magisk Modules? Posted: 29 Apr 2019 05:01 AM PDT Rooted with Magisk, and bored by the fonts provided on there. Anyway to install ttfs or otfs of other fonts from the internet? I've tried iFont app from the Play Store but didn't work for me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Also, what font does the Reddit official app use? 🤔 [link] [comments]
Does the "set reminder" for the notes in the bookshelf page actually work? Posted: 29 Apr 2019 07:58 AM PDT I have set reminders for those tabs a couple of times, but I don't think I've actually ever gotten a notification for any of them [link] [comments] |
