A simple, cheap and very reliable solution for phones without headphone jack

    Posted: 26 Nov 2018 07:00 PM PST

I have a great way around phones that start coming without a headphone jack

    This is what you need-

    1. Your old wired headphones ($0 additional cost)
    2. A Bluetooth receiver (I have both MPOW And TaoTronics) ($14) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008AGQMQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_V9k.BbWD4H7T6
    3. 6in USB-C male to micro USB male cable ($6 ) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LONQ7R6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_a.k.Bb4RAH4B6

And that's it! I can now not pay $150 and enjoy great music all the time.

    • I never run out of battery on the Bluetooth receiver as I can charge it from my phone itself and almost always keep it connected unless I'm charging my phone.

    • Your phone isn't the only way (although highly recommended way) to charge it. The receiver is a standard micro USB input. You charge through any source (wall/USB) if you want to.

    • The receiver's battery lasts like 3-4 days which is awesome. (Better than most Bluetooth headsets)

    • The receiver, when turned off takes 20 mins to charge which is fucking awesome (again better than most Bluetooth headsets). Also you can keep listening to your music when it's charging.

    • You get play/pause control, volume up/down control and play next/previous song control. it's like an iPod mini. AWESOME.

    • The receiver is ultra lightweight so it's not like there's extra weight you're carrying (like a charger or something). It's tiny so squeezes anywhere and the best part ... You can keep your phone anywhere and keep listening to music with your awesome headphones. I stead of carrying your phone around, just carry the ultralight weight receiver.

Here are some photos of the setup http://imgur.com/gallery/bHRSza4

I'm a student and had to come up with a cheap idea. Those dual adapters were too expensive /heavy and a headache to carry. More than that. NOT RELIABLE!

I only write this post because I saw the post on people complaining about aux port.

I have been doing this for over 1 year (since pixel 2 launch) and have had no problem at all.

PSA: Samsung gave me an additional 10% off my backordered S9

    Posted: 26 Nov 2018 07:48 PM PST

TL:DR - If you try to cancel your order by claiming you found it cheaper at Amazon, they'll offer a 10% refund.

I saw the $520 Echo Show with S9 bundle through Amazon today and thought the Echo Show would make a good gift for my mom. When I went to cancel my S9 order I put in the options that I found a lower price on Amazon. Samsung offered to give me a 10% refund if I didn't cancel the order.

I ended up calling my dad about the Echo Show. He told me he didn't think my mom would use it that much. He said with the student discount plus the additional 10% rebate I should "Take the money and run!" After all was said and done I paid $433 for the phone (plus tax). If you ordered through Samsung it's definitely worth checking out!

    Note 1's own rotation animation?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Android 2.x didn't have any animation for when you rotate the screen?

But I've noticed from a video showing the Galaxy Note1 that it had an animation for that, although it looks and animates a bit differently than Android's own version, looking "smoother" in my eyes. Almost like iOS.
