Gamified Apps List - A collection of apps using gamification.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 05:01 AM PDT

    Hello, Android Apps community!

I've made a simple website — Gamified Apps List — a collection of apps and services that use gamification in their design.

Gamification means applying game rules and rewards to real-world uses. For example an app to learn a new language, that rewards you for being consistent and completing exercises daily. Or a reminder to drink water, but you don't just log cups of water — you grow a plant inside your phone and it will wither if you'll stop drinking recommended amount of water, meaning you will lose your previous achievements...

    - A thing of notice: I purposely excluded a lot of apps and services that had bad rankings, or which seemed like they had been abandoned completely.

    - Have a suggestion? Please, I encourage you to share with me (and all of us) that awesome app you're thinking about right now, and I'll do the rest.

Naturally, I'll be happy to get feedback and I'm open to answer any question.

    Cheers!

How does currency fluctuations affect Developers who have in-app purchase in their app?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 10:12 AM PDT

I have a Turkish google play developer account which is connected to a Turkish bank account. Google pays me in Turkish Lira every month. My app has $1 USD in-app purchase. I have 1500 customers. When I created the app 1 year ago, my all prices around the world fixed to $1 at that day. For example, it is 0.9 Euro for european customers or 1.25 canadian dollars for canadian customers etc. 1 year ago, 1 US dollar was 3.4 Turkish Lira. But now, 1 US dollar is 5.0 Turkish Lira. So when Google sends me the money every month, do they first calculate in US dollars then convert it to Turkish Lira before sending me? All currencies are changing comparing to each other but I don't know how Google handles currency issues when they collect money from users and send money to developer.

Need an App to Record an AAC Stream on Schedule

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 04:06 AM PDT

Hello! My favorite sports talk station has pulled their feed off TuneIn Radio Pro so now I need a new solution for scheduling a recording of my favorite talk show daily. I have the AAC stream link, it opens in the VLC app so it's a valid stream. I just need to find an app that can record it and stop recording at an end time (or after a duration). Any ideas? My Google searches have been fruitless

    Seeking an Attendance Tracker app

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 08:09 AM PDT

Friends and I have a club with recurring daily meetings. Seeking an app that will allow members to come and check in themselves on the app to track attendance. Some desired features:

    - built in directory - so when they start typing in their name, it will autocomplete.

    - Allow more than one meeting a day - sometime meetings are 3-4 times a day.

    - Allow summary of each meeting (no more than a paragraph)

    - A friendly UI is always helpful.

    - free or paid (but no subscriptions please)

a plus - multiple admin accounts.

As an example, when a user attends a meeting, he/she can then go to the app on a tablet by the entrance, start typing their name, and select the meeting their attending.

    Thanks in advance.

    Call and text Blocking app

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 07:40 AM PDT

I need an app that would allow me to block a number from calling and texting me. I have the huawei pro android phone so I can put my ex on blacklist but if he tries to contact me I get a notification. I then downloaded an app - calls blacklist - but I have to use their app for texting and I still get notifications that it's using battery and it's always coming up on my notifications reminding me that I have someone blocked.

Can I get a recommendation of an app that can quietly block out the ex without disturbing anything else?

Alternatives to textPlus for android wo/captcha on number change

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 11:16 AM PDT

So lovingly textplus added a captcha to be completed in order to change your phone number.

So I am lovingly reaching out to the reddit community to help me find an app that I can change my phone number on demand without having to use a captcha or pay any high costs to change.

[Request] View Room and equiptment calendars exchange / office 365. Does an app even exist?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 08:58 PM PDT

Looking for an Android app where I can see other calendars from my company. These are room, equiptment or a persons calendar, not a public or shared folder.

OWA online lets you see room and equiptment calenders, and even other staff.

The OWA app may have had this at one point but is slowly merging to Outlook App and does not have this.

Making appointments in Outlook App (and some others... including iPhone native) you can see the room or equiptment you invite is busy and the next suggested time.

However this does not always work if you want an overview of when things are/are not free or want to just view multipul calendars (maybe you want to advise someone and not make a booking).

There are many Google suggestions of setting up another account on the phone and syncing only its calendar, or powershell to copy to another calendar but this is a lot of effort for a simple feature. I'd also just like to give users an app rather than having to tell them to add additional mailboxes.

In my old days of being an iOs user there was an app called CalendarOne that you would login with your credentials and then add the room (or person) youd want. It then appared to add them as a read only calendar to the native app. It appears develpment stopped and the app is no longer around but an old iOs device I still have it on appears to work. A solution like this would also work for me. Also if anything new and working is avalible for iOs that would be good :)

    Thanks for reading!

TL;DR I want to see other calenders like I can in outlook but from my phone.

    Need help finding app

    Posted: 01 Aug 2018 08:50 AM PDT

My company does not Android devices - iPhones only. I have been using the paid version of Mobile OWA to get my email/meetings as a work around and that has worked great so far. However they just implemented multi factor authentication ( MFA) or 2 factor authentication using RSA. Is there ay OWA ,Android app that supports MFA? All first hand recommendations appreciated. Willing to pay.
