Posted: 01 May 2018 09:30 PM PDT i'm thinking of getting the a1 phone next month. im not used to android phones, but from my experiences with the iphone their software updates really fuck me up because hardware cant catch up. will the a1 have this kind of problem? mostly looking at a1 because of money problems. the iphone6 is at a similar price where i live but i have a feeling it will be slow/unusable in the next year if not already [link] [comments]
Xiaomi Mi A1 Global edition - Network fluctuations Posted: 01 May 2018 07:14 AM PDT Hello, sorry if there have been any recent threads about this, I tried searching but to no avail. I found some old threads about fluctuations in mobile signal on the Mi A1 and varying reports of updates since fixing the issue. However, since buying a brand new A1 and updating it fully I am still having the issue of it cutting out data every now and then. I am in the UK and the sim card I am using worked flawlessly in my old phone, and I even tested it in another phone; all working fine, so it shouldn't be that. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to a fix? I really like this phone and would love to keep it. [link] [comments]

New to Xiaomi devices... Should i go for the A1 or wait for the A2? Posted: 01 May 2018 10:10 AM PDT So i've been lurking around the Mi A1 for quite a while and when I managed to get enough to buy one I read all the news about the A2 release soon.. Are there any significant improvements when it comes to battery life and camera? Will there be an headphone/earphone jack ? Will the price be around the same or will it be higher? Thanks in advance, i'm a newbie in this whole thing but i'm ready to join the Xiaomi family! On another note i've read something about installing ROMs in order to get better camera and battery performance on the A1? What are ROMS ? Is it 100% safe? How can they improve the performance of the phone? Once again huge thanks for your time! [link] [comments]
Xiaomi Mi Mix2S China Version Google Install Guide (Simple) Posted: 01 May 2018 11:19 AM PDT I received my Mix2S yesterday and spent half a day getting it ready for use in Canada. The Chinese version of the phone does not come with Google integration, and the global rom has not been officially published. After a bit of googling, I found a couple of guides ranging from outdated (installing through xiaomi app store) to over complicated (flashing rom, 8 step install). So below is what I did to get google play/apps running. It appears that google service framework comes preinstalled on the phone. So all you have to do is download playstore apk from your preferred source and install it. Make sure the browser you use on the phone has permission to install from unknown sources (you will be prompted to allow when installing). Once google play store is installed, just login, install all your apps, and change all the default apps/search/assistant from the xiaomi ones to google ones. Contact syncing was an issues with this method. Make sure you install Google Contacts and grant it all the permissions, you should also grab the correct version of google contacts sync apk (android v8.0.0), it might take a couple of reboots but your contacts will sync properly. What seemed like a daunting task, turned out to be quite simple. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 May 2018 02:48 PM PDT Anybody else having this problem? Seems to be since the latest OTA. I'm rapidly tiring of asking people to yell because I can't hear them. I had this problem with another manufacturer years ago and never bought another phone from them. I'd hate to abandon xiaomi but this destroys the single basic function a phone should serve.
