Games you Haven't heard of, Part 3

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 07:24 AM PDT

    Part 1
    Part 2

Well, it's time to run through more of my games library to find games that are fun yet somewhat unknown/unpopular. Unfortunately, my list is now empty, so I have no fuel for a part 4. Possibly at some point I'll run through my list and see what I missed.

    Title: MechaNika ($1.99)
    Genre: Point and Click
    Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mangoprotocol.psychotic.mechanika
Description: An amusing point and click game. The puzzles are generally fair and the story was amusing. Personally, I found the default font to be a pain to read, but fortunately it's configurable.

    Title: Card Quest ($4.99)
    Genre: Card Combat
    Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.winterspring.cardquest
Description: One of my favorite games in a while. Contains about 20+ hours of gameplay. This game is perfect for mobile. The author resolved most of my common frustrations with card games. Card unlocks are part of consistent progression system, instead of randomly. Deck-building/earning is done in chunks avoiding the need to micro-manage decks. Be warned that the "tutorial" levels are expecting mastery. Further, players with imperfect vision should probably stick to playing this game on desktop or tablet. The author tries to accomodate such players, but the experience isn't nearly as good. There is a story, but personally I found myself too absorbed in the gameplay to be willing to read it.

    Title: Crystal Story 1 ($0.99) and 2 ($1.99)
    Genre: Turn-based RPG
    Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.emmanuelsalvacruz.crystalstory , https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.emmanuelsalvacruz.crystalstory2
Description: A generic RPG . This doesn't do much to differentiate it from other RPGs, though at least it avoids random encounters. The combat sometimes feels a little slow, as do some of the menus. It's a good enough RPG/

Title: Lethal RPG: War (100% free with no ads)
    Genre: Turn-based RPG
    Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eyespyda.sorceror
Description: This game has its origins as a flash game. Eventually the author released to mobile in hopes of making money, before giving up and making it free. The combat system is decent, though the storyline is very weak. I'll note that the different regions have "recommended" levels, with enemies staying at the same level as the player within those ranges. This can be rather frustrating, if your party layout is unsuited towards the area you're fighting in.

    Title: Pocket RPG ($0.99)
    Genre: Action RPG
    Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tastypoisongames.prpg
Description: This is a classic dungeon crawling action RPG with bosses, equipment, levels, etc. It doesn't do anything particularly ground-breaking or unique, but it is a consistently solid experience.

    Honorable Mentions:
Soul Armors Recollect: (free w/ads) Feels like the sort of thing that gets released as a freemium game. Has a fun combat system that eventually becomes repetitive https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.initiasnow.soularmorrecollect

What are the best emulators on Android and what devices do they emulate?

    [Request] Some free collect-a-team

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 03:11 PM PDT

So I need a game that includes collecting/gathering (maybe random) units. I really don't know how to describe it. I've played a lot of Endless Frontier, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle and somewhat less WWE Supercard. I search for a game that offers a perfect balance between solo and multiplayer (e.g. Supercard is built on multiplayer, Dokkan Battle on the other side doesn't have any (almost)). I do not plan to put money into it, so, even if it is p2w, it should at least give me a feeling of quick, non-p2w progress. Thanks!

I just finished Dungeon Hunter: Curse of Heaven.

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 05:22 PM PDT

The gameplay is very simple, just tap or hold attack and you'll have no trouble getting through the levels.

The levels are small and nothing amazing. You can complete each level on three difficulties. If you complete a level without using a health potion or revive, you get a rush ticket to instantly complete it and get loot. Before starting a level you pick an ai or real player to help you out.

The loot is good. There are many different types of each item that you can fuse with lesser items to make it more powerful. It wasn't hard to get a nice crossbow to mow through enemies.

I didn't pay any attention to the story. Something about the main character possessed by a demon.

There are chests and breakable objects like most games. You can buy random loot chests with gold or tickets you get when you use another player as an ally. There are no microtransactions or ads. It's a small simple easy game, but it's the only premium Dungeon Hunter I can run. I can't even view the game's page, so I had to obtain it from elsewhere. I don't know how much it costs, but if it's cheap and you can buy it you should do so. If it's $6.99 like their other paid games, that's too high a price for what you get.

8/10: Simple hack and slash without microtransactions, fun but nothing new. I'm glad Gameloft is making some premium games again.

    Here's the link. Gameplay.

[Request] Looking for a JRPG like Shin Megami Tensei

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 04:01 PM PDT

Not looking for anything exactly like it of course. Just been playing some SMT games lately and want something similar on my phone. I saw a couple posts already asking the same thing, but they were all at least a few years old, so was hoping there might be new stuff to check out. Might check out an FF or DQ game, but I was hoping to find something with a heavier focus on developing your party. Thanks all!

    Paid Multiplayer Co-op game?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 10:59 AM PDT

Looking for a (probably paid) game that I can play together with my wife. I work long hours away from home so it being online is a must. Would appreciate it if the game didn't bombard us with ads or in-app purchases. Open to suggestions as we don't really have any genre preferences.

[DEV] Chicken Hero, a Retro Roguelike RPG

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 12:03 PM PDT

We are the German indie game development team "Rocket Raccoons" currently consisting of a full time programmer (https://twitter.com/RORA_Kevin) and a full time composer and sound designer (https://twitter.com/FulminisIctus) and we recently released our game "Chicken Hero"!

Chicken Hero is an RPG-Roguelike crossover with a retro pixel art aesthetic. In Chicken Hero you can train your chicken and fight against monsters. There are numerous ways in which your chicken can evolve and thanks to the roguelike mechanics you can always reset your chicken and use the gained points to buy permanent upgrades and try out all the different evolutions. Your goal is to raise the strongest possible chicken and prove to everyone that a chicken can become way stronger than any monster with the help of hard training! There are also equipable hats, companions that provide various perks, runes that boost your stats, joinable brotherhoods, chicks you can foster and send onto adventures and much more!

Here is a link to the game page on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.rora.chickenhero

We already posted this on r/android but we were told that this would be a better place to get feedback and since feedback is what we are mainly looking for we decided to give it a try ^

Let us know what you think!

why there are a lot of pubg clone, but no battlefield like one.

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 12:03 PM PDT

if developers can create the scale of pubg clones game i wish they'd make something like a battlefield like fps.

i know there is bulletforce, but imo its more CSGO like. they dont need to make it full featured, just incorporate the strategic element of having generals in a 50v50 battle. and then those generals can entiract on map location objectives to activate perks like drone/icbm strike, uav, supply/vehicle drop etc.

Major maybe - 2. Looks awesome but reading the comments , it seems p2w. It's a shame that a good game like major mayhem got a bad sequel.

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 10:31 AM PDT

[Request] Do u know any good (not p2w) FPS with RPG elements? Or maybe a simple, good FPS game?

    Posted: 28 Apr 2018 10:09 AM PDT

Something like Shadowgun Legends, with the drop system, quests and skill tree maybe? But without P2W and restrictions sh1t, i know only Neon Shadow, its pretty good, but it doesn't have these elements. Could be as well only a NOT P2W FPS, could be paid too....
